Windows...

If you're still on Windows 10 and hesitant to upgrade to Windows 11, be cautious. Despite the long-standing policy of not forcing updates to 11, my computer mysteriously initiated the upgrade process twice without any input from me. This means that Windows 11 has been downloaded and will install upon the next restart, with no option to cancel.
I found a workaround to halt the update both times, but it was cumbersome and not ideal. I resorted to the 'disable TPM' method in hopes of preventing future attempts. Initially, I believed dismissing the upgrade notifications would suffice, but it seems more drastic measures are necessary.
While I don't have a strong aversion to Windows 11 and may consider installing it in the future, the process will be meticulous and time-consuming for me. It will likely involve a fresh installation and extensive customization to ensure everything feels right. For now, my routine consists of eating, sleeping, indulging in furry porn, and repeating. I lack the motivation for much else at the moment.
Thank you for listening to my TEDx talk <3

jesus
Why can't people just help.
The tabs in Windows Explorer are awesome btw.
Windows 10 will go out of support in around 1 year. That means you are forced to switch to Win11 or get no free security updates anymore by June 2025 or pay MS for the ESU, where you pay a yearly fee by device for security updates.
The ESU is just there if you need more time for the migration to Win11, not a permanent option.
End of support isnt be all end all either, it matters most for companies, public computers and those not computer literate, even then MS still has a history of patching major vulnerabilities to older OSes well beyond support, like EternalBlue/BlueKeep. Not to say i wont update some time in the future, i just find it weird people are making it out like you're forced to by x date (i know you specified /if you want security updates/, im speaking in general.).
Heck maybe MS will release windows 12 before end of life for 10, if following the every other rule then windows 12 should be great :p
The only thing that you might need to remove before upgrading is anything that modified the UI, like the most of StarDock products, that replaces windows UI components.
Staying on Win10 after the support ends I would not recommend, as the amount of security issues increased a lot in the last few years. It's not like EternalBlue back in the past.
It's like running an outdated browser, so yeah, please upgrade and stay up to date with the OS is the best choice
If im ever compromised its because i play on shitty third party MMO servers, no OS or AV in the world will stop that from happening because im the idiot that installs them and lets them run. xD
