Bit Of A Bad Situation Here

Well, what do I have to say...
Ran into a rather bad situation that put quite a bit of strain on my mentality.
We got an electricity bill that was massively above normal where we'd have to play 1800€ on top of our regular payments.
We already tried to dispute the bill and originally it looked like it was corrected, but it only reduced it from 2000€ to 1800€, still a massive pay.
We are still trying to dispute the bill as some things don't make sense but so far it looks like we will be stuck with it.
We will be able to pay it but it will put a massive dent in our finances, specially since thanks to the energy pricing hike buying our heating materials for the winter doubled from just around 1000€ to close to 2000€.
I'll update you on the situation when it changes but just letting you know why I might not be available for things or my art is slowing down.

According the listed power usage ours spiked from the previous 6700 and 7100 KWH used in a year to nearly 12000 KWH, this is inexplicable to us as we used no new devices in that time.
Suspiciously, we got a new power meter in February and since then our average can be calculated to around 6500 a year, our usage was high UNTIL it was exchanged.
Sadly the old meter has already been scrapped since nobody informed us it might be important to check for errors

I'd say check and make sure they haven't shifted you onto some plan like that.

ich habe lange Zeit selber Stromzähler montiert und ausgetauscht.
Ihr habt einen elektronischen Zähler bekommen, in der Regel zählen die akkurat. Leider können die auch kleinere Lasten messen als die alten analogen Zähler. Das erklärt aber nicht die Verdopplung der erbrachten Leistung.
Der Versorger muss die Zählerstände dokumentieren wenn der Zähler getauscht wird. Theoretisch auch auf dem neuen Gerät. Wenn da nichts steht sollen die vllt selber mal im System schauen. Evtl hat sich der Monteur einfach vertippt.
Falls es das nicht ist, könnt ihr auch das Gerät durch den Anbieter prüfen oder austauschen lassen. Sollte das alte Gerät defekt sein, kostet der Tausch nichts.
sollte jedoch alles in Ordnung sein müsst ihr die Kosten tragen. Das beläuft sich in der Regel auf ein paar hundert Euro.

Möglicherweise klaut ein Nachbar bei euch Strom? Ka wie die Wohnsituation ist, aber das kommt öfter vor als man denkt.
Im schlimmsten Fallwar halt einfach der alte Zähler im Arsch, das kann schon sein. In dem Fall kann man froh sein, dass der Anbieter nicht rückverrechnet hat....
Ich hatte es falsch verstanden und gedacht der neue Zähler würde so viel zählen...
Dann ja, hast du total recht, da kann man nicht mehr viel machen. Situation erklären, hoffen dass die gnädig sind. Die Logik gebietet ja eigentlich dass der Verbrauch permanent gleich war.. .
Entweder defekt, oder der Monteur hat falsch abgelesen. Beides nicht nachweisbar, da kann man nur auf die Kulanz des Anbieters hoffen... Drücke die Daumen dass das noch was wird.
Hat eure Wohnsituation irgendwelche externen Anschlüsse, dass euch jemand Strom mopst? (Dachboden/Hausanschlüsse etc.)
Letztes Jahr hatten wir massive Preiserhöhungen, mein Anbieter Energie Fürth hat uns sogar mit schreiben vorgewarnt, da sich die Preise fast verdoppelt haben (danke Russland und Energiekrise) musste auch einen dicken Klecks nachzahlen, obwohl mein abschlag schon von 100 auf 160€ hochging.
Jedoch wurden wir auch informiert das, dass ganze wieder zurückging bei der letzten Jahresabrechnung, der abschlag ist wieder bei 130~ deutlich mehr als 2 Jahre zuvor aber immerhin.
Zudem kann bei solch einer plötzlichen Finanzschlages auch eine Ratenzahlung gemacht werden, schlimmsten fall muss man dazu persönlich zum Anbieter rein aber lieber über 6 Monate abstottern als plötzlich ein Loch im Konto haben.
