Update on power situation
Well, what do I have to say...
Hey all, sadly not good news here. It does seem like we are stuck with the bill as the total amount was not truly what we used in a single year but more the amount they didn't account for over several years and now want it all in one go.
As a slight relief though we did manage to make a payment plan so it's not all due in one go anymore but in monthly payments over a year so it won't be that devastating all at once.
Still not a great situation but what we have to go through. It will be survivable at least.

That being said: what price is getting billed here even, because power prices sure were a Rollercoaster around here the past few years
Now, the intent for this is to cover things like not being able to read for one, perhaps two, months. However, sometimes you do get cases like this were no readings are taken for an extended period of time.
If you are getting estimated bills, you should generally make a point of reporting the actual reading on the meter. If your bills only indicate total usage and not the meter readings themselves, (even estimated), it is also a good idea to keep a record of actual readings to compare to the numbers on the bill.
1: Which includes the lack of available personnel to do it.
Couldn't even wanted to sue cause we couldn't afford it... We all had to scavenge up the money and then when we paid... It was like they were turning us on for the first time!
