I have only donated one time. Like with other clinical settings, I got a BP check, was inspected for obvious signs of infection, and filled out medical information including blood type and conditions.

I was asked if I needed anything, even water, but said I was fine to go on my own. I was allowed to shut the blinds and made myself comfortable. I was only asked to remain quiet for privacy - no big deal.

I've got my bag of tricks on my phone. It's pretty much the same prep work as doing a urinalysis except you're breaking a sweat. You wipe the sample casing with a cloth, buckle up your pants, and hand it to a tech/nurse.

As for 'living with it,' everyone at the office was pretty chill. They know what you're here for and what happens in those rooms. It's for a good cause, and they trust you won't make a mess of some kind.

Don't lose sleep about you becoming the father of a genius or a monster, it's out of your hands.

There are, sadly, no nurses ready to provide you with aid in extracting a sample.
