Donations to Help UA Children's Hospital!! Please Read!!
Hey hey, everyone. I know that I've kinda fallen off of being active on here for a long while now. Things have gotten quite busy on my end these past few months, including a rather unexpected change in goings on that I've been working on dealing with in the meantime. I'll explain it in more detail sometime later, though for those of you who are my friends and already know, then you have the general idea of what's been happening on my end these past few months. More importantly, though, I'm writing this post to help bring more awareness, support, and attention to a terrible tragedy that happened in Ukraine a few days ago. Please don't forget that there is still war going on out there, and the lives of even everyday citizens are put at a near constant risk on a day-to-day basis. Please remember to lend them what support you can if you're able, and if you can't give anything in terms of financial aid then helping to spread the word is still greatly appreciated for these people and the good causes who are providing much-needed humanitarian aid for them.
For those who may not have heard yet, a few days ago a massive missile attack by Russian Armed Forces was launched against heavily populated Ukrainian cities, the biggest assault that has happened in recent times during the ongoing conflict. One of the places that was affected by this attack was the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, a massive hospital and the biggest center in the country that treats over 20,000 patients, primarily children, per year for numerous diseases including cancer and other terminal illnesses. The hospital was struck by a missile on the morning of July 8th during the assault by Russian forces, casualties so far include about 43 deaths, including a number of children and doctors, and nearly 200 others injured. It's not known yet what the overall tally of deaths and injuries caused by the attack are fully, but it doesn't change the fact that this is an absolutely horrific situation that shouldn't have happened at all... There is some good news in that at least most of the other children who were being treated at the hospital have since been evacuated and relocated to other medical care centers within Kyiv. Okhmatdyt has continued to stand strong and do what they can to provide the care and treatments that their patients need despite the terrible conditions caused by the war, and rescue efforts are currently ongoing to clear the rubble and save any victims who are still trapped underneath the debris.
If you're able to, please do consider sending a donation to the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital to help support them during these difficult times, even giving something as little as a single dollar will still be much appreciated and contribute a lot in the long run. Ukrainian artists
Tamplior and
PistachioHorror have provided information in their journal posts regarding the situation on how those who live abroad can make direct donations to aid the hospital, and even if you're unable to provide anything in the means of financial support then please consider helping to share their journals around to raise awareness. Links will be provided to their respective posts below, please do consider giving them your attention and support and sending in donations to aid the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital if you can or signal boost these posts!
PistachioHorror especially has been working closely with Ukrainian defense forces to help fundraise for much needed essentials and humanitarian aid throughout the conflict, please consider supporting them by following and/or ordering art and sending in donations to aid them in their cause. Please also consider following
canis_aureus as well if you're not already doing so, they have helped to keep everyone here up to date on the war and share journal posts from Ukrainian artists in need to help spread awareness and aid the UA community here on FA when they can. A huge thanks goes out to those who have already generously given donations for the Children's Hospital, and who have helped to support Ukrainian artists throughout these past few terrible years. I hope that you all will continue to do so until we can finally see an end to all of this bloodshed and destruction, and hope that Ukraine can and will come out on top when it's all over... Thank you all very much for taking the time to read this and the posts of those who have already spoken out about this situation, please take care of yourselves and your loved ones, and stay safe out there! <3333
