Hello everyone! I hope that all of you have been doing well as of lately and that the springtime has been overall a great season for you too, especially since summer is already fast approaching! That all aside, though, these times have not necessarily been the best for everyone, even if it’s not spoken about as much as it was a couple years back we shouldn’t forget that there are still ongoing conflicts in the world. Even regular, everyday citizens can become targets when they least expect it, and those who live within proximity to active war zones go day-to-day in near constant fear and anxiety that they themselves or their families may fall victim as well to the violence and destruction happening around them. A wonderful Ukrainian artist who I follow and have worked with on a good many occasions is one of many who are in need of aid, and I’d like to help spread the word about their situation in hopes of helping them get the support they need.

 Rivay is currently living in Zaporizhzhia, a city in Ukraine that has seen a lot of devastation during the war from Russian missile attacks, and near where the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is located. Rivay has said before that they’d initially moved to this city in hopes of finding somewhere safe for them and their family to live to avoid the worst of the conflict, but unfortunately this turned out to be not the case as Zaporizhzhia has been targeted and shelled by multiple rocket attacks within the past few months… The latest attack on the city happened days ago on the 8th of May, with explosions hitting about a kilometer away from where Rivay and their family are currently residing, knocking out internet access for them and most likely for other Ukrainians in the area as well. They thankfully still seem to have stable electricity and lights for the time being, but this could soon change if Russian missile strikes continue to try to destroy power supplies and infrastructure in Ukraine…

Rivay is kindly asking for anyone and everyone who is able to donate to them, the stress and anxiety of the recent happenings has been taking a toll on their physical and mental wellbeing as they’ve recently suffered from panic attacks and onset colds that last for long periods of time. And with them also having an upcoming diploma defense to earn their degree, the deteriorating state of their health could pose a lot of challenges and problems for this too. They’re asking for financial support to get aid from the doctor to help them through this rough time, which you can contribute to if you’re able to by donating to them via PayPal, ordering a commission or a YCH art piece from them, or by subscribing to their Patreon. Anything that you can give, even if it’s as small as a single dollar, would be greatly appreciated and very helpful for getting Rivay the aid that they need more than ever! If you’d like to support them by ordering an art piece, please do keep in mind that completion of orders will take a bit longer than usual because of the circumstances so please be patient!
