Hey there! That's right, I still exist and you're still watching me!
It has been a minute and a half since I posted anything up until today, and that is a fact I am acutely aware of. If you aren't someone I talk to regularly, you might have just determined I fell off the face of the planet, which would honestly be a fair deduction. But no, I'm here, it's just taken me a lot to get here.
I don't want to get TOO traumadumpy here on FurAffinity.net, but at the same time I know I disappeared on a lot of people, so I figured at least a basic explanation is owed. In a previous journal back in 2022, I mentioned being let go from the job I had recently acquired, and unfortunately that didn't get remedied in any short amount of time. Hundreds and hundreds of applications went out, dozens of interviews, but ultimately nothing. I bounced around places for a while before finally unwillingly being dragged back to my parent's house to stay with them. It allowed me to build up savings while I continued to search for work, but at the same time I was forced to detransition against my will, a combo of factors which left me in both a physical and mental space where writing was next to impossible. So I just put my head down and did my best to escape it all.
Which, hey, I did! I got an offer a few months ago, and yesterday was coincidentally my first official day on the job. I've moved out of my parent's house, gotten my own apartment again, and thanks to that and a variety of other factors, I'm in probably the best place of my life - mentally, physically, and financially.
And that has also culminated in me finally getting to write again! It's been great getting to pick of the proverbial pen again and be productive, and I have a ton of ideas in my head that I've built up. That includes introducing new OCs, random one-off stories, and yes, finally getting back to Iris, Buffmeleon Extraordinaire.
But it also means taking commissions again! I actually accepted a lot of commissions right before things took a turn for the worst, so I do apologize for leaving so many people in the dark on that. But being aware of that possibility is part of why I never took any payment upfront, so that's all squared away. If you DID commission me and are still interested, feel free to reach out and you'll be given priority. But I am also accepting new commissions as well, so anyone who is interested is free to reach out also! Just note that since I now have a full time job again and other responsibilities to take care of, progress may be slow at times, but I feel I am in a good enough state of mind to work with consistency.
That's all. Thanks for the continued support.
