I've had the extreme misfortune of studying under the Chuck Norris School of Martial Arts (don't know if it was sanctioned by the man, honestly), and endured far too much Walker...in a fair fight between them? My money's on the man who bodyslammed Andre the Giant.
Except that Hulk, like almost all wrestlers, are actors. They are physically fit only in a choreographed manner. The falls and damage they take are rarely real, and usually when they are the match ends immediately. A few exceptions include blood from tacks or glass, which are known to rarely cause serious injury, but look quite horrible on camera. The pay they get for this is insane, and clearly worth it.
However they ARE physically durable. or were. People like Mick Foley have received so much brain trauma and physical torture from their career, doing stunts most wrestlers won't, that they have the body of a 90 year old man, at 40.
Still, as far as actual combat capabilities, they pale in comparison to anyone with a real art. IRL, Chuck Norris is not a real artist. Sure he's trained, but he's really.... not very good. Many of the kickboxers in Taiwan could mangle him in a traditional multi-artform match using Muay Thai. That's an art that doesn't fuck around.
I myself have been trained in Kenpo karate. I am still a beginner, as I only attended a few month's worth of classes, and they were *dedicated* to physical training. We spent a lot of time learning about other artforms and cultures. Our trainer considered it necessary we keep open minds and be willing to learn to adjust our training to meet unexpected situations.
Chucky got this, but he lacks some of the more basic fundamentals to martial arts. As a television showpiece he does well, but as an actual combatant, he fails to maximize on 'kill and maim' techniques over 'impress and alarm'. He seems to also completely lack skill in grappling, tackling, stunning, and locks.
One of my biggest complaints about Kung Fu these days too. All show, no blow.
Good point. When Bruce Lee killed Chuck Norris in Way of the Dragon, that wasn't just acting, that was real. You've got to admire his commitment to the movie.
On the other hand, you could say his only other option was to not be killed by Bruce Lee, which is astoundingly difficult...
And 2 weeks hence, you have become a quote of the day. Congratulations.

Chuck Norris was a highly trained martial artist before he became an actor. He was a tournament fighter and won quite a lot of championships. He was actually quite good and is probably still trained well enough to beat many martial artists (though he is getting on in years). He's a black belt in tae kwon do and tang soo do.
You have no idea what you're talking about. =P All you do is just see his movies and TV shows, which have nothing to do with his actual skill in martial arts.
Actually, I AM referring to his actual martial arts. Those tournaments were, at it's best, takedowns. Not actual combat oriented scenes. A sumo wrestler would have ranked high in those tournaments simply for the difficulty of fall and likelyhood of a takedown on tackle.
An actual points-based tournament, or a KO-tournament, Chucky wouldn't do so well. That's not to say he isn't a good fighter- He can kick your ass, that's for sure. Along with any average person. But in the midst of the world's greatest fighters, he's not the top of the rung by any means.
A quick-handed Kenpo master could take him down with embarassing speed. Chuck's moves are entirely too slow and leave enormous vulnerable spots. I also have serious doubts about the distribution of his leg mass during any of his kicks. They'd be too easy to hyper-extend with a grapple.
As for his television stuff, I am not even very familiar with it. All television is a lie, after all. It's much more amazing to watch real people, really fighting in tournaments where accidental death is an accepted accident.
It depends of is Sagan was in an auto-tuned version of "Cosmos" on Youtube. There would still be fragments of Sagan left after the collision if that were the case.
OH no. They would joint as one working out the real way everything runs and see that there are still many things we don't know and that other beings are out there.

i dont know ._.
That's like pitting Hulk Hogan against Chuck Norris. No contest, man. Sure they both rock but one is just so much more powerful than the other!
BLASPHEMY!
Chuck Norris killed GOD by inventing DINOSAURS! Namely the T-REX! The BADDEST ASS DINOSAUR OF ALL!

aside from disgrace them...
The Great Old Ones would walk over our world and not bat an eye
Uh, Chthulu rocks. -- some fan of H.P. Lovecraft.
Sort of a matter/anti-matter splatter? As long as everything went into "billlions and billions" of tiny peices, us Sagan fans'd be happy.
"I know. Isn't that -awesome-?"
I don't think they'd annihilate each other, but it would make the best Con panel ever.
But long live Re-Animator (and consequently, Jeffrey Combs).
Yay Slate for asking such a question. ^_^
