Shitty day, stolen bike

Well, someone stole my bike from the fifth floor of the apartment complex where I rent an apartment. It sucks. The bike was my buddy, it even had a name :C It was a bike I always wanted for many years, so I finally bought it 4 years ago.
I think this is the first time someone has stolen something from me, and it's also the first time I've dealt with the police. They were very nice and took it seriously, even though they said it was not very likely that I will see my bike again... The bike was not SUPER expensive, $520 USD, but it is still good money for me in Czechia and I don't think I could replace it soon. And they cost more now.
It's also a shame that I don't feel super safe here right now. Although the bike was outside my apartment, it was behind 2 shared locked doors. Damn them thieves.

Stolen bikes are almost always recovered. If it wasn't marked and registered, it's even less likely that you'll see it again.
Locking is securing it with a plug lock so that only the rear wheel is blocked, connecting means using a lock to connect the frame of the bike to a fixed object.
In any case, the loss is annoying for you.
It is sad, but it's not the end of the world. Shit happens :)
It's my biggest fear that somebody steal my personal things. Not really for their price, but more how they connected to me personaly! And bad to think about that somebody use it everyday.
When I lived at the previous place what got a bad reputation, I always thought would be good to buy a GPS tracker developed for bikes. It have a monthly price but maybe help in these situations.
Few years ago the padlock on our storage where cutted down and a few things has stolen. Fortunately only things that are not super important, but I didn't felt safe anymore.
I know you lost the feeling of safety but somehow I hope that you can buy a bike in the future!
