Disaster - Dead PC
My pc that I use for all my work has died.
This is very bad news.
I have just finished paying for a second-hand laptop, which is how I'm making this post, but it doesn't have all the software I need to do my work. It also doesn't have any of my work on it, that's all locked up in the hard drives on my dead pc, the hard drives that I'm hoping are okay. I have back ups of some work but not the most recent, the pc died as I was working on things without warning.
Suspected failure is graphics card or motherboard. I've got no visual output to the monitors. The monitors themselves are fine, thankfully, including my drawing tablet.
I've got some things ordered that will hopefully get me access to the hard drives and the work that I need to do. However, I'm not sure if I can do everything I need to since the laptop doesn't have all the functionality I need and was never intended to be a replacement the pc, just a supplementary device to help with work flow.
I have been asking for help to get the funds to buy a new PC for quite a few years now and I'm asking again now. A new machine is going to cost about £2000-3000 GBP for what I need to create my work.
Those reading will know I've only just moved house, so I'm financially crippled. Even though I have just started a part time job, it isn't enough to cover the bills and save for a new PC.
I'm stuck.
This is a situation that's very difficult to get out of and while I'm doing my best, there's only so much I can do.

Cash is the thing I need so I can replace the PC and get back to work. The quicker I can raise the funds the better.

The only challenge that remains to be solved to get me up and running is to find a solution to the single-click is always a double-click problem when I plug the drawing tablet in. Got someone helping me with that one so hopefully that'll be solved soon too.
Then I just have to hope I can keep things ticking over until I can afford the new PC. Might not be doing art streams for a while, and certainly won't be able to do one this week.
Or are you just looking to get at the installers for the software you need?
Sai does work, but I'm having a conflict with my XP Pen Artist22 Pro drawing tablet and Win11. Looks like this is a common issue and the solution is a firmware update from XP Pen.
For problem one, a friend has a copy of CS2 he's not using (I can't afford the subscription nonsense Adobe is doing, and plan to switch to a different programme like Affinity or Krita, but for now I just need CS2 working again.)
For problem two, someone else I know is going to talk me through how to do the firmware update.
I'm not very tech savvy at all, I'm a very average user with only slightly above average knowledge, so things like 'cloning the desktop drive' is not something I know how to do and would have to learn.
A new PC is a must at any rate, I need a significantly better machine than I've been using to progress with my work.
Pretty sure I could pull something more than usable together and send it your way. Wouldn't expect you to pay for the parts, if that's your concern.
I've been using cobbled together second-hand machines for too long. It's high time I got something fully new beyond the spec I need rather than something that's good enough to keep me going for a couple of years. Hopefully going with a new rig will give me time to save up for its replacement/upgrade when the time comes.
