Congratulations! You've got Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
6 months ago
Twenty years I've been begging to find out what's wrong with me. Twenty years of struggling and fighting and failing and now I finally know what's wrong with me.
Myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Yuppie Flu (we don't use that last one any more since it's derogatory).
I won't get better. That's probably the worst part. Realistically, with a recovery rate of just 10%, and me having this condition for 20 years, I'm not going to get better.
I've got to get a house move out of the way in the next couple of months, after that I can make adjustments. Right now I've got to keep working and doing my best. I've got to ask you all to be patient with me while I get through the next few weeks.
Honestly the BEST thing you can do to help if at all possible is throw money at my Patreon (see main profile for links) and spread the word. Sympathy is lovely and all, but money is the thing I need more than anything else so that I can take some time to rest.
I'm so tired all the damned time and now I know why.

but glad you did find an answer, even though its not a good one. I hope you find ways to deal with it better now that you have an idea of what to look for, in day to day relief.
This might be a little self-serving, since this is my field of study, but I would recommend looking into whether Occupational Therapy services are covered by your insurance, if you have one. OT focuses on helping you do the things that are most important to you, and specialize in helping people come up with strategies for their daily lives. I think it’s at least worth looking into!
