I totally get you, alas, twitter is where many of the artists that I want to interact with are still. After bluesky gets more traction, I'll make the shift.
Bluesky is open now if you want a good site to use.

I would suggest giving it attention early and helping it along, but that's just me.

I third the others' suggestion of Bluesky. Things are slowly but surely picking up. Yes it takes a bit to get a following since there's no algorithm, but you'll have a much nicer experience.

If you don't make trolling a sport like I have, you'll be fine. Twitter right now is like DeviantArt at it's prime; everyone has they're own little corner and nobody wants to make trouble. You got your outliers but just block and move on and you'll be good. C:
