Echolily Anatomy
My favorite genres are horror, surreal, and cute. Naturally, I created the echolilies.
THERE WILL BE A VISUAL REF OF ALL OF THIS SOON!!! I've been busy with parent teacher conferences and being sick and trying to discover cold fusion, but it'll happen soon!
Echolily anatomy is entirely based off of Grave's fursuit. By making echolilies have an ourfit I feel that the species is more accessible to fursuiters who can't afford or can't wear a full suit. They can also use SFX makeup and headband ears/horns instead of a fursuit head. The paws of echos are basically just... shoes with pawpads lol, also making the species more accessible. Obviously most fur cons would disqualify any echolily from any activity that requires a "full suit," but full suit echos can still be made!!!!
Echolily feet are particularly bizarre. They are essentially high platform shoes [the ones I use for Grave have a four inch platform] with rubbery beans on the bottom, four toes, a palm, and a fifth toe on the heel. There is a single "toe" dividing the four toe beans from the palm. This may be difficult to see since leg floof covers so much.
The floof on the legs and arms typically is not covered by clothing, and echos like to show their floof off. Typically they are more than one color but mono-colored floof can exist as well.
Echolilies have human hands, complete with thumbs. They do have paw beans on their four fingers though-- but not their thumbs.
Echos CAN be digitigrade but I haven't really worked out a way to describe this yet, so I need to draw it to explain how it works, as well as the lore that goes along with digi echos.
Echolily teeth are sorta like toony shark teeth. Triangular but more rounded than sharp, and their tongues are split [like mine irl!] and striped [not like mine irl unfortunately!].
"Fae" wings are small, sleek, compact wings near the shoulders-- they should be so small that they could not reasonably allow the echo to fly [but being ghosts, this obviously doesn't affect them].
Finally, echolilies live in my fictional land, the Bleakland, from my in-progress quantum physics story Greenhouse Effect. I will post the article from the Greenhouse Effect wiki on the Bleakland soon. All that you need to know for now is that the Bleakland is one of many dimensions a deceased human can end up in due to quantum entanglement. It can also be communicated with by interdimensional communication, such as Ouija boards, pendents, etc. Just make sure you've contacted the Bleakland before moving forward! Like any other dimension in Greenhouse Effect, living creatures can visit if they have the technology to. Some think the Bleakland is a beautiful destination for the souls of the innocent to rest. Others find it unsettling. Either way, souls who have found a home there are protected by an invisible force that makes the Bleakland hostile only to those who come to harm it.
I wish I had time to draw right now. Oof.
