2024 Jimmy Fund Walk Donations for Cancer Research
11 months ago
I'm participating in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to raise funds for cancer research and treatment.
I’ll be going for the full-marathon route this year, as I have a friend to walk with
Walk day is this Sunday. I’ve been behind on fundraising, but thankfully donations are open through the end of October, so I have time to collect donations.
Please support my efforts with a donation. Together, we can support research and care that help patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and around the world.

Got some new hiking socks, so hopefully minimal blisters ;)

How'd it go?
I was pretty sore last night, but am recovering today, though I am moving slower than normal ;) Blisters are the worst part, but they'll get better each day.
We had beautiful weather for the walk yesterday. The last few miles in downtown Boston get crowded, but the rest of the course is quite nice.
I also enjoy using the walk as a way to get myself to train. I haven't hiked any mountains in several years, but we got a few 10-12 miles in Malden, MA and the suburbs, include the Fells, which is a really nice nature area. I also checked out the Nashua Rail Trail this year, which is another great place to walk.
Have you been doing any hiking or nature stuff lately? I kept on meaning to thank you for your holiday card and drop you a line, but kept forgetting to do it ;)
I enjoyed the bit of the Fells Chris brought me around. I used to ride the Nashua rail trail on my bike!
I didn't get to hike last year, my disc was messed up, and I needed a redo of the RFAblation. This year I was mostly healed, and we got in a decent amount! Not as much as we wanted, but nothing to sneeze at.
I'm completely terrible with staying in touch with folks, so I don't sweat it when others are similar.
Awww, I'm sorry to hear of your disc, that really sucks. I've glad you've been able to heal.
My left knee from torn tendon is still a bit stiff, but walkable and doesn't slow me down, and thankfully my cardiac health has been good
We should try and catch up for a local hike sometime
