I looked into them. They're considered country according to allmusic.com, and considering how the Nashville scene is keen on crushing any act not vetted through them, I'm not surprised they didn't make it far.

That's a whole different ball of wax but with the same result. Most record labels these days expect artists to pretty much promote themselves. No record label has a good idea in how exactly to promote in the age of streaming, so they each seem to be waiting for the other to innovate.

Good new music is out there, just hard to find because of it.

Well, it's more shunned than blacklisted. It has to do with the way radio was then. In the 00s radio was owned by a handful of conglomerates. These conglomerates would only have a limited number of open slots on their playlist for new artists. You compare one small outfit on an indie label for example, to say, Dixie Chicks or Tobey Keith having a new song then, who do you think "I Heart Radio" is going to play?

Lot's of great song writers and musicians got buried then.

Back then (Very limited TV and radio channels/time slots available), I can't imagine what people had to go through before they finally made it 'Big?'
I remember, too, all the traveling Bands/Groups who would tour their country/try world, and SOMETIMES would capture a 'Talent Scouts'' attention?

If there is indeed one great thing about the Internet, is opening UP the world to anyone wanting to make a splash, and for their chances to finally be seen/heard, appreciated, and hopefully, funded into the lifestyles desired?!

It has definitely broke control of entertainment away from the major media moguls

What an absolutely wonderful style of music, however! It's got a lively blend of so many, I'm going to have to delve into this and discover more!
