The Old Lodge

Not a day goes by that I'm not reminded how much I hate the public parks system in my state. There was a lodge downstate that they tore down, along with a nearby nature center. Both were places I'd spent a lot of time in. The lodge was a fantastic old building, probably starting life as a farmhouse, built in typical style for many regional farmhouses, 3 stories high, filled to the brim with vintage furniture and interior decor, and a huge dining room with sliding glass doors looking out over the nearby marshland. Probably going to be replaced with some ugly modern building.
They're also going to replace a local nature center, another one located in a historic house, and I'm reminded about that every time I hike the nearby trails. The parking lot will also be moved from its nice compact location nestled in forest and significantly enlarged.

when are they going to start getting people who know what the hell they're doing? there was a protected left at an intersection, some oblivious "futureminded" dipspit took it out and 5 people have died because the protected left was there to deal with sunset uphill traffic coming from the other way that you can't se till its right there T-boning you. if the future is what the mooks doing that stuff are proposing its a bleak pointless waste of time and they should really just set off the nukes instead. don't they realize those old buildings are less expensive and easier to build anyways? man, futurism is just so blockheaded and oblivious to reality. NOBODY CAN LIVE ON A PHONE ITS ALL FAKE.

Yeah something very similar happened here where they removed a separate right turn lane, and now it has traffic backed up much further, at an area that's already a huge bottleneck. They've also been replacing the traffic signals on wires with signals on chunky galvanized metal arms. I have no idea why, and they spoil the scenery, well spoil it more than when all this cement and sprawl was built in the first place at least.
