Delays in art ; Death in the family

Hey everyone! i know it's been a while (again) since i've made a journal, and unfortunately this one comes with some sad news.
some of my long time followers might remember back in 2012, my wife's mom was diagnosed with leukemia. Originally after treatment she went in to remission, but recently it came back and landed her back in the hospital. Then earlier this month we got the call that she passed away.
Next weekend, from the 24th to the 28th, we'll be traveling down to florida for her funeral. I do plan on taking my ipad with me so i can work here and there, but obviously my time will be mostly preoccupied with other things while we're there.
unfortunately of course this did mean i had to take on extra work while being largely unable to work on at my normal pace.
our 16 year old dog also had to be put down, which took another financial and mental toll on us.
in other news, i have been very busy this month in general, but thankfully from less sad things!
tomorrow two of our friends are getting married! my wife is the maid of honour so the two of us(mostly her) have been helping with a lot of the wedding planning and prep.
a friend of mine also came up from florida for a few days during hurricane milton, so i was also occupied with that for a bit!
so yes! overall a busy month for us, for a handful of reasons! i appreciate y'all's patience with me, and i am crossing my fingers that november will be nice and calm so we can emotionally recover from so much happening :')
