Twitter right now is the biggest most popular place place, though it's certainly not tailored for artists. Inkbunny is another answer, but it's certainly not as big of an audience.

I respect that haha. tbh I've considered doing this as well and just seeing what is removed or not because I genuinely have no idea where the line is even drawn for "acceptable Pokemon."

I may just suck it up and use twitter, but I think I'll wait and see what direction it's headed in once the upcoming controversial changes are officially implemented.

I'm of the thought that no matter what happens, only the minority will really switch to other social media sties, despite all the backlash. As an artist who's looking for work, it kinda doesn't make much sense to completely move to a social media site that only a fraction of users have. I know it's kind of a doomer take but what can I do, lmao.

Bluesky has gotten some decent traction but it's going to be a while before anywhere has the same audience that twitter had in its peak. I actually enjoy it for a place to casually talk and meet other artists, but it might be harder to find commissions. I haven't tried yet, but I also never had a ton of luck with twitter in that department anyways. FA has really been the only place that has been reliable for finding clients and I'm mad that a wrench was thrown into it.

As a heads up, FA recently put a hold on its AUP 2.7, which includes all the changes they made with pokemon/digimon from last year. All the mods who spearheaded the expansion of bannable offenses have left the FA mod team as well, according to the FA Discord. There is also a discussion happening there at this moment, between the community and the owner of FA, regarding the future of the AUP and how it could be revised. Fur Affinity at least seems to be willing to correct some misshandling that happened this past year.

So with some luck, NSFW pokemon art might soon be back on the menu.

But aside from here, just as others have mentioned, Itaku is still a nice alternative, even if it doesn't have as big of a population as we would like it to have. I know I'm still checking there regularly. Same with Bsky, especially after Twitter does nothing but giving artists the middle finger.

Oh that's some interesting news, thank you for sharing. I had read about some of this partially today, but it was difficult to find any information on the Pokemon ruling specifically since what I saw was primarily addressing babyfurs. I'm guessing a lot of this info is being conveyed on discord? I really hope they can be more reasonable now that some of the more extreme mods have left.

Yeah, the discord discussion is getting quite big. It's getting harder to follow with everyone posting big paragraphs. But at least there is activity from both sides, the community and FA itself.

There are no promises that any desicions previously made will be rolled back, but it's getting looked at, seemingly with a more open eye than before. They also take AUP's from other gallery sites into consideration. Weasyl for example, which does a good job at conveying what content is allowed and what isn't. If they can do it, why not FA?

Other than that there is a lot of talk about implementing a tag/blocklist system, which would fix a lot of the underlying issues. Don't like a certain fetish? Just block it and never engage with it again.

Sadly, due to FA's age and an extreme amount of technical debt, that is not something we can hope for in the near future.

We'll see what happens, Fur Affinity is currently entering a phase of transition it seems. However, one can remain slightly optimistic.

But as they say, don't put all your pokemon eggs in one basket, so maintaining multiple online presences is advised. I promise I will keep a lookout for anything you share on other websites, be it itaku/bluesky or anywhere else.

Verryyyy interesting hm. The comment about the "canon" forms of Pokemon still being unallowed makes me not so hopeful but maybe things will go in a better direction? I'm glad that they're also looking into a blacklist system because that's long overdue lol.

I hope things turn out the best they can, but I agree with you that diversifying online presences is a smart move in the meantime. If they're going to take a long time to talk things over, I can't sit around and wait for that to settle when I need to make money haha

Aside from AGNPH being a dedicated NSFW Pokemon community (but not really being what you're looking for as an artist), I have a difficult time thinking of Pokemon art specific communities.

Otherwise I have no real good ideas outside of both Itaku, and what vogold has already discussed.

I've only ever heard of AGNPH and never been on it. I was honestly under the impression it was something of years past and not a active community. But yeah, just any place that's not going to nitpick what species are allowed to be depicted in nsfw is good, it doesn't need to be a Poke-centric site necessarily.

I don't currently have a discord that I'm willing to give out to more than just close personal friends, sorry. I'm guessing there are some servers out there for these communities?

There is. But if you don't want to use that for anything but close friends, I won't poke you about that further.

I'm hoping bluesky becomes more of a gathering place. If Twitter keeps doing stupid things, that certainly will help. And the less said about FA's awful rule changes for Pokemon, the better.

Same here! I'm actually finding myself spending way more time on bsky these past several weeks. Twitter just stresses me out and I'm sick of the moron in charge making the dumbest possible decisions, but maybe that's the motivation people need to leave.

Every time I think about the rule changes on FA I get so frustrated.

Do people upload nsfw art onto toyhouse? I was under the impression that it was mainly for people to make profiles for their ocs and sell adoptables, but I've never really looked into it lol

Yes they do, and you can set up multiple tags and warnings regarding content.

Technically if you draw an image of someone else's character and they have a ToyHouse, they can link it to your ToyHou.se account to give you credit, so every piece of art by you connects to their character. Also while it doesn't have a traditional gallery, some artists have made "Characters" that are just their different types of art they offer and use that and the other features available to characters to act as a sort of gallery. So I don't know if that would work for you, as a gallery. NSFW pokemon is still on the menu. Tons of artists still draw it and upload it daily and have been doing so for years.

The issue is that a lot of the most popular Pokemon, which make up about half of my commissions, fall under the "cutesy" type that FA may or may not consider reportable under the rule change last year. Even though they are all adult characters it's too risky to post them when I don't know what will or will not get me possibly banned. :(

I've heard of this but I would have to make a new discord account first. Is it a place where artists can find commissions regularly? Because that's what I'm sorely in need of, and I'd rather jump to a different niche if the Pokemon commissions have dried up due to necessity, sadly.

On the server itself, probably not - there are plenty people there, me included, who'd be happy to commission you, but it'd mostly act as an artist-only hangout and resource. Plenty of tips to go around on how to properly set up commissions, where to do it, etc.

That's fair, I didn't want to be invasive about offering comms at all. As far as socializing I'm kind of more reserved talking about this stuff with new people so I would probably be a lurker between posting art. I'll consider checking it out in the future though, thank you
