NSFW Pokemon Art Communities?
I'm curious if anyone knows if there's still a decently sized community anywhere for posting nsfw pokemon content. FA seems to have killed a whole lot of it with its absurd policy change, and it doesn't seem like itaku is incredibly active even though that's where it seemed like people were moving to about a year ago. I frankly cannot stand to be on twitter lately, so I'm not sure about starting up a nsfw art presence there unless something major changes, but maybe bluesky is an option? It's crazy how limited the choices feel tbh
I don't know, man. Coming back to FA after a bit of hiatus is making me consider that it might be better to rebrand with a new account and focus on anthro art and other niches. I'm more than happy to keep taking Pokemon commissions for people, but when I can't even share most of them on the biggest furry site it's extremely hard to find more commission work. :/ I already have to work to rebuild an audience after taking such a long break and it feels like it would be more worthwhile to put my energy into a different focus until I'm reestablished. I'm curious to hear about everyone else's experiences though, for anyone who has insight.

FA+

Twitter right now is the biggest most popular place place, though it's certainly not tailored for artists. Inkbunny is another answer, but it's certainly not as big of an audience.
I may just suck it up and use twitter, but I think I'll wait and see what direction it's headed in once the upcoming controversial changes are officially implemented.
So with some luck, NSFW pokemon art might soon be back on the menu.
But aside from here, just as others have mentioned, Itaku is still a nice alternative, even if it doesn't have as big of a population as we would like it to have. I know I'm still checking there regularly. Same with Bsky, especially after Twitter does nothing but giving artists the middle finger.
I'll have to keep at it with crossposting to itaku then. It's rough with a fraction of a following there but may as well try!
Here are some posts from FA's owner, that at least stood out for me regarding the pokemon ruling:

There are no promises that any desicions previously made will be rolled back, but it's getting looked at, seemingly with a more open eye than before. They also take AUP's from other gallery sites into consideration. Weasyl for example, which does a good job at conveying what content is allowed and what isn't. If they can do it, why not FA?
Other than that there is a lot of talk about implementing a tag/blocklist system, which would fix a lot of the underlying issues. Don't like a certain fetish? Just block it and never engage with it again.
Sadly, due to FA's age and an extreme amount of technical debt, that is not something we can hope for in the near future.
We'll see what happens, Fur Affinity is currently entering a phase of transition it seems. However, one can remain slightly optimistic.
But as they say, don't put all your pokemon eggs in one basket, so maintaining multiple online presences is advised. I promise I will keep a lookout for anything you share on other websites, be it itaku/bluesky or anywhere else.
I hope things turn out the best they can, but I agree with you that diversifying online presences is a smart move in the meantime. If they're going to take a long time to talk things over, I can't sit around and wait for that to settle when I need to make money haha
Thank you for sharing all this information as it's a little difficult to find every detail on it
Otherwise I have no real good ideas outside of both Itaku, and what vogold has already discussed.
If you have a Discord, I could discuss something with you about the subject of Pokemon artists privately.
I don't currently have a discord that I'm willing to give out to more than just close personal friends, sorry. I'm guessing there are some servers out there for these communities?
Every time I think about the rule changes on FA I get so frustrated.
Also while it doesn't have a traditional gallery, some artists have made "Characters" that are just their different types of art they offer and use that and the other features available to characters to act as a sort of gallery. So I don't know if that would work for you, as a gallery. Here's a couple of example of that if it helps: https://toyhou.se/Teiser/characters/folder:4304361 https://toyhou.se/Ziboe/characters/folder:4122241 https://toyhou.se/14302849.basescommissions https://toyhou.se/fossileyes/charac.....folder:5999331
