Midwest Furfest
a year ago
Hey everyone!! Just a short journal this time. Is anyone going to Midwest Furfest??? I am /probably/ going, so I am just curious!! It'll be my first huge furcon! And my second furcon ever. I am pretty excited! They literally have a panel called Monster Hunter: Lay or Slay. It was meant for me.
FA+

And it is also great meeting friends you've spoken to online!! Such an awesome feeling ;w;
Also, try not to be too intimidated by how hectic and crazy it might be. Large cons such as MFF can often be overwhelming to some people.
Just know ahead of time that there will be far too many panels and events to hit everything, so try to plan out those which you feel you might enjoy the most.
I hope you have a great time.
Having a group should also help with any anxiety, as there will always be at least one other of your friends around to just talk with if things begin to feel stressful.
Nothing worse than feeling overwhelmed and just having to try to deal with it alone.
I'm sure you'll have a great time and will end up regretting how quickly it passes and you have to go back home again. LOL
And I agree with Prowler, it's definitely more fun with friends! :)
It should indeed be exciting as your first large furry con.
It's been years since I've last been to MFF (2015), but it was always a lot of fun. Small cons often have a lot of down time between events and while I love the more intimate feel of a smaller con, the larger cons are just nice for always being able to find something to do.
Of course that more active pace also seems to make the con go by that much faster, leaving you with the disappointment of having to go home where there was so much more you still wanted to do.
Yeah I am definitely a bit anxious about it being such a big con, and how jam packed the schedule looks, but I am super excited at the same time.
Oh yeah that feeling of time flying by.. oof. I hope I'll get to a few panels I'm excited for and get to explore a bit at least!
By the time the con is over, you'll realize that your anxiousness was unwarranted and realize you had a wonderful time, and be eager to return again next year.
