UFFL week 6 results and Week 7 preview

Hello all! Its marty with your week 6 results!:
- We start the week as the Corsairs are hosting the Chicago Outlaws. While this season the Outlaws have been having a tough time bouncing back from the Furbowl win, The Corsairs seem to be continuing trying to find themselves, their identity. Not for lack of trying thought, Juuta Siutinnuaq had a big day of work on defense for the Corsairs, having 10 tackles and 1 sack, but once again on offense, they seem to not be able to take the next step up, averaging average numbers on the Pass and on the rush. Darius Smith had a good day for the Outlaws, scoring 3 TDs as mostly the passing offense did all the work. Not everything was great for Chicago though, as their star running back Jean-Étienne Tremblay got brought down in the third quarter and had to be escorted out with the help of his trainers….The pickup might have hurt his knee and UFFL.com predicts he may be out for weeks. Chicago wins 30-13.
- In Easton, the Bald Eagles tried to get back to their winning ways after a week 5 upset, and went to face the Las Vegas Bandits. Both teams fought in the trenches against one another, as most of the offense was run by the run and with kicking field goals. While Sylvester Stapler had a tough time in the air with 2 INTs (Both coming from Bonnie Babcock), he did what he could on the ground, managing the biggest run from a LVB QB since 2015 with a 45 yard TD run in the third Quarter, as this put the game at 16-16. Thanks in part to the effort from Delph Adler, who catched for 125 yards this game, the Bald Eagles managed to come close enough to get one final FG in the fourth by Virginia Pratt to get the points they needed. Easton triumphs 19-16.
- Back in the big Apple, Emi Tachibana and the Defiant wanted to get back with a W against the California Demons. Having fallen to the Bald Eagles, the Demons had the confidence coming in today, but it was soon tested as Kiedo Masquarde was hurt early in this one, as Elise Beaumont would be back at the helm for the first time this season. She tried her best, but Beaumont would struggle, as she suffered 2 INTs. Emi Tachibana was back in form, wanting to put last week's loss behind her, as she continued on her great campaign, earning 299 yards and throwing 3 TDs. New York’s stout defense did the rest, and New York would end up getting ahead towards the end of the game due to Tachibana’s brilliant work. New York wins 27-17.
- We turn our attention in Miami, as the Colorado Crushers pay a visit to the Miami Tropics, who are trying to get back into winning ways after 3 consecutive losses. Unfortunately, This game can be resumed to one thing: Erica Blanche de la Rosa ran the ball down the Tropics’s throat. The young rookie Orca had another big day as she ran for 133 yards. While having no touchdown, it was all the Crushers needed to score when needed too, as the Tropics offense had problems getting themselves going. Colorado wins 24-10.
- In North Florida, the Renegades would square off against the Austin Blues. While some were eager to see a slobberknocker of a game, they were greeted with a….weird one. The Austin Blues offense in the first half: non-existent. Why, seems today was the day where Kai Koa decided to totally implode, as he had an abysmal time today, being burned for 4 INTs and sacked 7 times. Austin never got going, even if Carrice Kenton ran for 113 yards, nothing was working. What is even weirder is that the Renegades had only 179 yards of TOTAL offense. Only 3/12 on third down conversions.Guess as they say, “We are going to take it and run with it.” North Florida wins 34-10.
- Back in Richmond, The Flames were facing the Nashville Tuts. While a lot has been said about the Flames slowly progressing while they kept losing, sadly, not on this day. Like at all. It was all Tuts. Andy Kaylers once again had an atrocious game, suffering another 4 INTs in this game. Royce Jackson scored a TD late in the game, but that’s about it for the Flames. The young Nashville team feasted on offense and Defense, Thanks to Roman Oliviera and Horacio Cabrera. Nashville wins 41-10.
And here your Luns's game of the week!:
It's a chilly day in Michigan, perfect climate to crown the Kings and Queens of Michigan.
The game started in favor of the home team as Morton Ritter fired two touchdowns to give the Dragons an early 14pt lead. However Lillian made sure not to let things get too out of hand by replying with a 6 yard dart to Earl Morales for his 2nd touchdown of the year.
End of 1st 14-7 GRD
To start the 2nd Quarter a little more hometown cooking allowed the fans to rejoice once more as Ritter connected for his 3rd Passing Touchdown of the day to push the lead back to 14.
The rest of the 2nd Quarter was a drag but it seemed like Lillian finally figured Grand Rapids out as after a VERY long drive from DWN to set up a 19yd FG and a swift three and out, Lillian led her team on an 85yd Drive in 2:09, ending it off with a 12yd dime to Hanna to cut the lead to 4.
Half 17-21 GRD
Grand Rapids and DWN traded 3 and Outs to start the third before GRD finally got their first first down in over 20 in game minutes and got a FG to push the lead to 7
DWN swiftly replied though as Lillian escaped the pocket and was off to the race. The Snep was flying free showcasing that speed we saw at the combine where she broke the record for a 40 time as she nearly broke it again on a 31yd Dash to the endzone to quiet the crowd and tie the game at 24.
End of 3rd. 24-24.
The 4th started off with a pick by Simms that gifted DWN decent field postion however the Waves couldn't cash in on it.
It didn't take till 5 Minutes before the final whistle for any movement on the scoreboard as Rick Nicksen punched in a 1yd score on a 4 play drive that was set up by a 75yd bomb to Wolff from Lillian Newman.
With 2:17 remaining Lillian ran for 7yds before coughing up the ball and giving it to GRD at their own 35. However GRD gave them the ball right back after. A bad read from Ritter gifting the ball right to the paws of Stanton.
DWN again couldn't get anything going to cash in so the defense took it upon themselves to cash in as on the following GRD drive, McCarthy baited a pass and hopped on the ball and was home free the moment he caught it for a PICK SIX! Upping the lead to 14pts with 45 seconds left...pretty much ending the game. Final score: DWN 38 - GRD 24
Players on the week:
Offense: Lillian Newman - QB (DWN) : 25/31 316 yards, 2 TDs, 67 rush yards, 1 Rush TD
Defense: William Tancretti - DE (GRD) : 17 tackles, 1 sack, 2 FFs
Special Teams: Virginia Pratt - K (EAS) : 4/4 FGs

You know, when I created John Gradkowski I was younger and kinda dumb. I didn't realize just how much of an actual freak of nature 6'4, 237lbs, and burner speed actually is at the WR position. lol
