If I've blocked you...
...you may safely assume it's because you've done one of the following.
#1: Blocked me.
It's only fair, if you're going to put me on block (especially without any explanation), that I do the same. With all that's happened on F.A., few things still get under my skin more than that one artist who sent me a PM gloating that they could still comment on my gallery but I could no longer comment on theirs.
On a related note, I know it's childish to leave a comment right before you block someone, but I always do it anyway because I believe even the biggest douche in Douchebagistan deserves to know exactly when and how they crossed the line, regardless of whether they will use that knowledge for good or evil in the future. The whole reason I was even inspired at all to write this journal is because two artists I'd been following (one for quite some time) recently put me on block and I only found out when I tried to fave two of their new submissions. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but if they thought so little of it that they could do it without a word, it was probably something really stupid so good riddance to them.
#2: Trolled or shitposted.
This is the one and only time I will block someone based on their gallery submissions. There are a lot of things I don't like on F.A., but blocking the artists who produce it won't stop it from showing up whenever I use the search bar. I may stop following you if you're really into things I personally can't stomach, but it'll only be if you're weaponizing said content for the purpose of trolling or shitposting that I will block you for it.
#3: Been on the list of watchers of a dedicated shitposter.
If you're following an artist who I personally consider to be a piece of shit for any of the reasons listed here, I can hold my tongue about it. But if somebody has a gallery that is nothing but raging Nazi bullshit drawn with stick figures, I will judge you for looking at it and thinking "Awesome! I want to be notified when there's more of this ASAP!"
Most of the people on my block list were followers of an alt-right troll who has since been banned, who made a long list of enemies by attempting to goad anyone who didn't share his perverted values into something he could use to weaponize the ticket system, and whose gallery was absolutely nothing but bad photoshops of Pepe the Frog spewing racial slurs while he murdered or shit on the faces of stick figures identified as SJWs. If that's what you want in your updates, you're just as much a piece of shit as he was.
#4: Been out and proud about, or tried to excuse, your support for the fat orange demon.
As I'm sure all of your family, neighbors and former friends who now refuse to speak to you have told you already, it's not about politics, it's about basic fucking humanity. That piece of shit ran a campaign that was 100% about vilifying the "others" in this country and promising to make them suffer. So if you were willing to overlook the fact that he is a fascist, a traitor, an insurrectionist, a fraud, a thief, a pathological liar, a convicted felon, an adjudicated rapist, a malignant narcissist, a Nazi lover, a blithering idiot, and a pathetic loser in every conceivable way possible, all because something about that message really resonated with you, you are a fucking monster, and a lifetime of isolation and loneliness is the absolute least you deserve.
#5: Openly expressed your support for the "new rules" user purges, or thrown a tantrum after the admins dialed them back.
If you were butt-hurt about hundreds, maybe thousands of F.A. users, including myself, not having their accounts suspended just because you didn't like the content they had in their galleries, and were to such a degree that you made a journal, comment or submission to vent your anger about us continuing to have F.A. accounts, you don't get to continue to have access to said accounts and pretend nothing happened. You quite literally wanted us kicked off of this platform, and did so to the point that you were willing to ally yourself with trolls who opened lurker accounts for the sole purpose of abusing the ticket system as revenge for all of us getting their Nazi shitposting accounts suspended.
To be clear, this is not a condemnation of anyone who does not like the content that was targeted. I unfollowed a few people who expressed their dislike of the content (mostly just so I wouldn't constantly see their open-for-commissions reminders), but only blocked the people who lashed out at the admins for not completely purging it.
#6: Very publicly gotten a bee up your ass because someone else had a different preference or interpretation.
I like nonfatal vore. Others like fatal vore. That's fine. But if somebody draws ambiguous vore, I leave a comment indicating that I like it with a nonfatal interpretation, and you respond "NO!!! IT'S FATAL VORE!!! YOU ARE WROOOOOOOONG!!!", that's a you problem.
#7: Deliberately set off a drama bomb.
Has there ever been a users' vore tournament that even got finished before it devolved into a great big drama explosion, with everyone who got eliminated early falling into depression because they feel like everybody hates them and all of the finalists getting accused of cheating by using fake accounts to vote?
No there has not. So if you try to start a new one, don't act offended when I remind you of what's happened every single time it's been done in the past, or surprised that I blocked you if you responded by telling me to fuck off and/or that you don't care -- you're going to do it anyway.
#8: Being a blatant and/or pathological liar.
I can accept that 100% truthfulness is incredibly difficult, and in a community where everyone is encouraged to keep their IRL private to the point that we all present ourselves as a completely different species than what they are IRL, it's practically expected. I'll admit I've done it. When I had to deal with that stalker asshole from WND, I was deliberately misleading about what company I was working for so he couldn't try to get me fired, call in a bomb threat or whatever other sick shit he might've been willing to do.
But there's a fine line between lies like "I just turned 40," "I've got gout," or "I used to be in a marching band," and lies like "I just turned 18," "I've got cancer," or "I used to be in the army."
But the ones that get me the most, and which are somehow the most prevalent on F.A., are the really blatant zero-percent-chance-of-this-working lies. Like when somebody tries to lie about things that I did... TO ME! Or when they're lying about something that's on the public record -- when you can literally post a link -- or even scroll up and copy/paste something from the exact same page as the lie -- to prove that it is a lie. If you're that bad of a liar, either you're a narcissist who thinks everyone else is catastrophically dumb, or you have some kind of brain problem that outright compels you to lie whenever possible. Either way, there's nothing I can do about it except make sure my account is one less place where you can perpetuate your problem.
#9: Spammed PMs with it being abundantly clear that you don't care.
There are a couple of people who send me PMs once a month just to ask how I'm doing. Let me be clear right away: These people are not the problem.
But there was another person, for example, who PM'd me asking if I was available to do an art request. I PM'd him back informing him, not only that I do not do requests, but that I do not even do art -- all of my art submissions are reposts from real artists. Which already irked me because I make it a point to credit the actual artist and link to the original, ergo he clearly hadn't been reading the descriptions. But I thought "Meh, probably an honest mistake" and forgot about it...
Until he sent me another PM asking if I would do a request. And another. And another. And is probably still trying to send me them routinely to this day, followed by yelling at his computer "Why am I blocked?!!"
We are not NPCs in a video game. These words were all typed out and submitted by a carbon-based life form just like you. If you can't fathom, or refuse to acknowledge that, that's a serious you problem.
#10: Blatant hypocrisy.
Somebody once posted artwork of two characters sitting on the couch snickering while they huffed a bong. I thought it looked a lot like Beavis & Butthead and posted a quote. They responded with a very lengthy condemnation for "putting words in my characters' mouths."
Just one problem: Only one of the two characters was an OC. The other was from a very well-known franchise. Meaning they lashed out at me for doing something in jest that they had already done for themselves quite seriously. And they got quite pissy about me pointing out the blatant double standard too.
Entitlement is a brain problem I can't deal with any more than pathological lying. Once again, the only way I can help a person deal with their belief that the rules -- especially the ones they themselves invented -- do not apply to them personally is to give them an "exercise in denial" by not letting them do shit on my gallery no matter how much they want to.
That is all. There may be others who wound up on my block list for more uniquely specific reasons, but for the most part, those are the reasons.

Yes, it was as dumb as it sounds.
Yes, it always resulted in drama. In fact, I don't recall any vore tournament ever even concluding before it exploded.
And for some reason, yes, a lot of people used to, and sometimes still, think it's a good idea. One artist even wound up on my block list for charging admission to a vore tournament. "Want to lose half your friends because you didn't vote for them, then either feel unloved and consider deleting your account, or lose the other half of your friends because that user with a suspiciously generic name and an account that was only created a week ago keeps voting for you? That'll be $40.00 please."
For the reasons you listed
But it's an irritation on par with not knowing the difference between "there," "their" and "they're," describing the weather where you are with the temperature in Celsius, or making a "deez nuts" joke. It's something I've learned to accept is going to happen and not let it bother me.
It's only the people who can't hide the fact that they're not reading any of your PMs back to them that are way over the line IMO. In hindsight, I could've lumped that under Rule #10 -- people who expect you to read their PMs even though they're going to disregard yours.
Just curious
So if somebody is already watching you and you block him, it won't punt him off your list of watchers -- it'll only prevent him from un-following and re-following. Not only will he still be able to see your stuff, he will still get notices every time you post something to your gallery or journal, and will only find out that he's been blocked the next time he tries to fave or comment on something.
Which is how I found out that I'd been quietly blocked by those two artists -- their stuff showed up in my notices, they both drew something I liked, and when I tried to ad it to my favorites, I got the notification that I can't fave something by someone who has blocked you.
