MFF 2024 Sunday-Monday Fudd

As said in previous blog entries, when I went to MFF, Sunday meant seeing the Browns play at the Ram and then Starbucks and then the getaway. Sunday evening is a great time to fly through Chicago "Like shot through a goose" (*skitch* * Cannonball Run Edited Version * Thanks.) Hell, Monday during the day was also a fairly easy trip. Yet, when it rained heavily or snowed, my additional Sunday stay turned into such great memories. None of the extra stay day memories involve furry memories. Ya folly?
Went to the mom's and she had "bagels and lox" to eat for lunch. Really good. (Smoked Nova salmon, cream cheese on an onion bagel.) Saw the Browns V. Steelers while consuming beverage. Our QB was qouted as saying "I'm praying for the lord to deliver me from pick-sixes". Yep. He's got a small tossing interception problem. Two interceptions during this game. Plus two field goals missed by our kicker. Welcome to the Browns. Keeping it marginal since 1999. I did TXT with LMAC so yes, that's a partial win. Maybe next year I'll go back to MFF and try to have fun. Yep. Watched Mama's Family Christmas and helped mom with her new cell phone.
Time went on and seemed that I was going to stay for dinner. Mom didn't want to go out so I said I'd get stuff from a local bar that has Pabst on tap. Watched AFV, still on okay show if you enjoy people getting hit in the nards. Got food and consumed a Pabst and came back and great stuff. Watched "The Lion King" CGI. Yep. Are you kidding me? *head shake* Modern Dipsney. Phew. I'm still a fan of ink and paint and just as much a fan of Pixar's output as well. CGI is... AI...
Home to prep for Doggy Radio. Got pics done and napped. Heard my Radiolawn repeat and again got more sleep. Did the Doggy Radio show and had extra time to check if my camera was better for a video chat with Boomer The Dog. BIG WIN! That reverses #7 Fail to a partial win! Then I fell asleep watching The Grateful Dead: Downhill From Here. Jerry and Brent were a team and are constantly exchanging knowing musician smiles. When Jerry lets his fingers fly and Brent fills in answering Jerry's playing... Enjoying the show, trying to forget that only 3 of 6 playing still walk the earth.
Fell asleep during the GD. Woke and watched a good chunk of the GD it that I'd missed and left it playing while I was doing other chores. I had bills to pay and well, I had joked about spending $2000 on a MFF vacation? Almost as painful... my aching wallet. Thus endeth my "not" trip to MFF2024. Anybody ready for Christmas? Get your outside lights up? -Ric

01. The Ram Microbrewery. (WIN! Went to a different local and had good tasting yelow beer and got a half priced ZA.
02. Starbucks (to chill after the Ram microbrewery.) (WIN! It was one I hadn't drawn in before. Really busy as well.)
03. Old Style Beer From A Local Store (WIN! The gas staion near my mom's joint stocks it. 6 Pack pounders. )
04. 7-11 Water Get (FAIL! I don't have a 7-11 in the vacinity, and it wasn't that big of a priority. Did get water from DolGenCorp)
05. Aux Hotel Get (FAIL: Home is where the bed is.)
06. Aldi Stop For Grub (WIN! Well, "Cheese Club" Mac and Cheese and String Beans, do those count? F-It. WIN!)
07. Lobby Sitting With Fuzzies (PARTIAL WIN! With my faster speed net Boomer and I finally chatted muzz to muzz on the net at full speed.)
08. Dinner atta sports bar within walking distance. (WIN! Beers and Chicken Philly While Watching Detroit Vs. Green Bay Onna 'Zon.)
09. Browns At The Ram (2024 Browns V. Steelers @ Pitt) (PARTIAL WIN: At home with mom. Lose another. Good food. Texted with LMAC who reminded us that we still have the $250M QB. Woohoo!)
10. Grateful Dead DVD Atta Hotel (PARTIAL WIN!: Futon in living room, this year from 32" TV. Nice wristband Phil. Nice short shorts Bobby.)
11: Doggy Radio Remote (WIN! Now with internet acceleration. We may try to do a show where we are looking at each other live. I'm now in 2014!)
12: Cheap Dollar Store (WIN! Jot pens 12 pack, wrote some using one of them as tradition dictates.)

04. First thing I did when the con switched to the convention center was make a stop at 7-11 for water. I carry a bottle of water with me and I'd get a big jug 'o water for refills. I've bought water from other places here in Cleveland but never from a 7-11. It's the most constant fail on my list. I have the water filter here at home so , why ask why.
09. Another year. Another meet with my mom for Browns. She's become a fan of the fail. 3 wins through 2020, I don't care that the pansamatic caused MFF to be cancelled that year it still would have been the same if I had just gone to Chicago with the MaskMobile ™ The losing continues for the three years after we had a BYE in 2021. I still drink mixed beer beverages like I would if I was at the Ram and I have a TXT with LMAC who joined me for every game.
10. Once I became a fan of The Grateful Dead, I'd always take my portable DVD player and watch a Grateful Dead concert in the hotel. Usually it was after the Doggy Radio show. I've continued the tradition through the use of my laptop HDMI DVD player. Can't thwart me technology :P
11. Gotta radio show to do. When Skype upgraded to 64 Bit, that means no no Devo for us, so I got a better laptop and Boomer provided me with a USB powered mixer and that's been my setup since.

I did get con crud only once when I was going to MFF and that was the year I went to the casino that opened there. It was the first time I'd been in a casino EVER so why not do it with fuzzies. It was cold and the "smoking shack" I endured with a smoking fuzzy was not heated. The next day I started feeling funky and then I was put out for two days. Other than that... -Ric
Heck, we can even try the new tex-mex place that is a few feet from the other tex-mex place and see if they put the game on! Or we'll go to Kings and you'll learn why I moved that place out of my group's meal rotation!
