I beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!
I finally beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Feels good to finally finish a playthrough of the game after all this time. Here's hoping the next Paper Mario is the true Paper Mario 3 we've been waiting for. "What about Super Paper Mario? Sticker Star? Color Splash? Etc.?"
Fun fact: In Japan, the first few Paper Marios were known as "Mario Story". But as I understand it, starting with Sticker Star, they switched over to "Paper Mario" in Japan as well. Know what that says to me? Sticker Star and its sequels are effectively a different Paper Mario series or subseries, distinct from the "Mario Story" Paper Marios. And Super Paper Mario is basically a spinoff itself. So, Paper Mario 3, as in "Mario Story 3", has yet to truly happen. When it does, I hope it's a worthy successor to TTYD, a sequel that builds on TTYD's good ideas just as TTYD did for the original Paper Mario.
As so happens, I have my own ideas for one that I call Paper Mario: Star Patrol. Sometime, I might share some ideas for it here. Or on my DA. But for now, I feel content having finally completed this classic.
