amy rose is not sally acorn.
sally was a perfect female counterpart for sonic, but, sega killed her off to make room for amy, a dumbass fangirl of sonic who basically stalks him like a psycho.

but, if movies actually made sonic likeable, and didnt ruin tails....maybe they can save amy too...but, if 3rd movie was flawed, then 4th one will be weaker, so....yeah.

Every movie is flawed on some level, but they made Sonic a likeable character over 3 movies and the weaker parts didn't take away too much from the 3rd film being enjoyable and generably good.

Third films in trilogies have a history of being the weakest entry, but that also depends on what they're trying to do in the third film. TLK 1.5 is the weakest of the Lion King films because it's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead, but not done well because whole chunks of it feel forced. KFP3 was the weakest of the films because it changed studios, and while it was a decent movie, the story telling and pacing felt off. ROTJ was the weakest of the original trilogy of The Star Wars, mostly because they were trying to wrap everything up and had the Ewoks (for the record, I don't hate the ewoks, I actually like them, but the reasons they exist were budget issues and merchandise sales).

I can't really comment on who is best Sonic Waifu, mostly because I never got into it. I will say that Sally is a much better character than Amy, but I didn't read the comics (I did watch SATAM as an adult) and most of my knowledge comes from the internet via Youtube.

sally is great on satam, she keeps sonic from doing stupid things, most of times, and that is what made her cool, she was a leash for sonic, not on a bad sense, she was the mentor, the partner, the pal and girlfriend....but, nope, sega wanted a stupid pink girl cliche obsessed with sonic, it is like what they did to lola bunny after space jam 1, they turned her into a dumb crazy lady eager to be taken by bugs.

I'm fairly sure they yeeted Sally because Sega Japan had already set Amy up as a potential love interest only to find out Sega USA had an entirely different Sonic canon they'd been running with.

That had nothing to do with Sally not being relevant. In fact Sega said romance is allowed in Sonic related Media (including the comics) so whether Amy or Sally would be love interests is a moot point now.

I'm just going off what I recall from watching youtube. I do recall Sega Japan and Sega USA having some issues over what should be considered "canon" when the internet took off in the late 90s/early 2000s, and that everything defaulted back to what Sega Japan had set up.

Yeah but nothing from the comics were ever carried into the games aside from minor things, and when the romance stuff got out of hand Sega came down hard and set up rules and such afterwards.

Amy as a character is fine, but the English translation kinda made her come off as how she was compared to the Japanese subtitles. But I'd argue her character is a little better in recent games.

I'm just going off of what I've heard from other people along with gameplay I've seen. Like I said, I never got into the comics or the video games outside of the copy of Sonic the Hedgehog I got from my cousins when they gave me their Genesis (which I still have).

Of course Amy isn't Sally, their completely different characters. Sally didn't get replaced by her, she's a comic character that only exists in that universe where Amy exists in the video game canon. She wasn't killed off just Archie comics discontinued it and was taken over by IDW that had new characters. Amy had nothing to do with her not being in the comics anymore.

I hope that Blaze and Sticks appear in future movies! Also, I think Sonic the Movie 4 will be based on Sonic CD!

The end scene in the credits got me so hyped! Here's hoping Sega actually owns the music used in Sonic CD to actually use the tracks in the movie rather than the little blips we got in the current one because they don't own the rights to tracks done by Crush 40.
