Karma....
Has absolutely no idea how it's supposed to work.
This has been an interesting year, to say the least. I've had ups and downs, and downs and downs, and some more ups here recently, but karma is really confused at this point.
I took my car into the shop today. I hit 100,000 miles about a month ago, and just haven't had time to get it in. I was expecting some repairs being needed, but nothing close to what was needed.
On top of the normal plugs, wires, and flushes for the system the timing belt needed to be replaced about 30,000 miles ago. The new belt and the component kit for it was around $500 plus the 8 hours of labor for it at $80/hour. That's $1,140 right from the get go. Add to that, that the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced, $120. Then everything else that it went in for to begin with and we're at $1,521.31.
Apparently I've been a bad puppy this year, because that's all my Christmas fun out the window, as well as much fun in the near future. On the plus side, I shouldn't have to do any kind of serious maintenance on my car for the rest of the time that I own it, since everything is going to be more or less brand new now.
I don't need money, or support, or help getting through the rest of the month. That's not what the journal is about. Just needed to vent a bit here because I'm starting to get seriously frustrated with the way things have gone lately, and are continuing for me.
To those that actually keep an eye on my journal here, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. A new year starts in two weeks, maybe it will all turn around then.

Feel better soon
Thanks. I'm sure everything will be better soon. New year after all.
I know it will. I was overdue for a year like this, since my life seems to go in predictable cycles. I should be good after this though. Nothing else can really go wrong at this point.
I know you'll get through, and so will I. Somehow, I always do.
It seems like everything is starting to turn around a bit for you though. At least improving.
*hugs*
It has to end at some point. Everything gets better eventually.
thats not how its supposed to work.
BAD KARMA, BAD.
*hugs*
i hope things look up for you.
Things always manage to get back on the upswing for me, one way or another.
Next month is another new start, and I'll see if karma can get things straightened out.
*hugs*
Even so, I hope you have a somewhat nice Christmas, woof. *nuzzle*
If I had waited much longer, it would have turned into something really bad. The water pump was leaking when I went in, so it was on its' way out for sure. I was expecting some expense from it, but this was a shock.
It would definitely be nice to know more about my car too, though it wouldn't have really helped much here. I don't have the 8 hours needed to do the repairs. Stupid life.
My Christmas has gotten a bit better recently. I am going to drop in on my aunt and uncle that are roughly an hour away. I haven't seen them in several years, so it'll be fun. Not quite the same as going home, but it's still good family.
*hugs and nuzzles*
I hope you have a merry Christmas yourself fluffy
Merry Christmas and I new year to you too.
I'm hangin' though. I'm not going without, so no worries.
Merry Christmas and all that holiday stuff.
How's Cali treating you?
