I've got one foot in, and one foot out of this fandom...

The Kitty Says...
I appreciate some moments I've had in this fandom, but honestly, it feels few & far between the multiple moments that were deeply upsetting and cringeworthy. After attending Anthrocon 2024, I had a realization that was virtually the last straw, when a decade-long "friend" I co-drove 2,400 miles with, just decided to block me from all forms of social media/communication without any reason or explanation, whatsoever. Just thrown away like yesterday's trash. In my personal experience, real friends take the time to talk things out and do not just block people due to their own deeply hidden fears & insecurities about themselves.
I've been in this fandom for 23 years, but the last 18 years have been filled with sadness, heartbreak, depression, shallowness, racists, manipulators, and narcissists due to how toxic some (not all) furries can be, and quite frankly I'm tired of it and I'm done... I'm pretty much out of the fandom as far as most events go, from this point forward because I don't see how driving long distances to watch socially awkward people stupidly drunk would benefit me in any way. If I ever chat with some furs, it's only because of the genuine trust built with them over time. That's pretty much it.
