Maybe I just need some time away from video games...
Lately, most of my frequently played games, and even some slightly newer ones I've been trying to get into, haven't been interesting...
One of those games is Civilization VI, which I've put more hours into than any other video game I own... I've never truly enjoyed playing it by myself, but recently I just can't seem to finish even most singleplayer games I start. And more to the point, I played this almost religiously with
avianbritish, but in addition to some... truly terrible luck with map generation as of late - something that, honestly, I should very used to by this point >.> - I just find myself increasingly unwilling to sit through it - I just get so horribly bored now... This also seems to be the case with Age of Wonders 4 and XCOM 2 - the latter which I would say used to be my favourite video game of all time, but I'm making screwups on those games I... Normally would just not have made before; I play them, but I seem only to want to just... Get them over with, rather than enjoy them.
Furthermore, I'm stressed out by Company of Heroes 2 - a WW2 game and another game I play quite frequently with
silverwingcid but it's just... Not as fun anymore. Certainly never fails to be thrilling but not in the fun sort of way... I find myself unbelieveably pissed off by the game's terrible pathfinding - I.E, I order my units to move to a location and they take the stupidest route to get there or my tanks constantly get in each other's way or, if I'm ordering them to back away from an enemy they actually try to turn around, even though I used the reverse hotkey - and I'm positive I did so. Most of the time they aren't fast enough regardless... And don't even get me started on those laser-guided mortars the AI always has. But aside from that, there's also Age of Empires 4 and Age of Mythology: Retold - both favourites as well... Them I still enjoy for the most part, but, fleetingly...
So I've been trying to branch out... I got Sims 4 again, since it became free-to-play, but it's... Well, bleh, because 90% of it's content is locked behind paywalls - though, what did I expect from Electronic Arts? >.>. I got an emulated version of Lego Racers, but I haven't finished it yet - not that it's a super-long game anyway. I still get some fun out of Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but otherwise... Everything else had just kind of faded for me .-.
I think, perhaps, I've just been playing them way too much... But I don't know what more to do in my free time anymore. I know what I **want** to do, but I just can't. I want to get back into blacksmithing; it's been at the forefront of my mind for a long time now ever since I tried it out just before the end of 2023, but classes are... Well they aren't cheap, and putting together my own home forge will take me either making it big with my book(s) or winning the lottery >.>... I had gotten into nature walking during the summer but now that we're in the heart of a Canadian winter, those trails are... Kind of dangerous to navigate right now O_O...
So... Where does this leave me? I'm bored, feeling unfulfilled, and unsure what to do to mitigate it.

I'd also suggest kind of like I have been trying to do, play games that call to me and just enjoy the ride, take my time. I mean, I for a while was playing PC games to clear them just so I could decide to keep them or not but I realized it wasn't a good way to determine how to spend my time. So now I just decide what I want to play and just do it, and it helps me?

I did play COH 2 for a while. was fun while it lasted.
total war warhammer series is a giant timesink lol
Similarly, I dont find a whole lot of joy in videogames anymore, and Im starting to gain new interests and want to do other things. I just wanna go outside and walk around. Or I wish I could get a 2nd job so that free time could be filled with something more productive.
And if I had the extra money, I would rather kinda get back into practicing Digital Art and get into deigning.
Maybe get to a point I could start drawing for myself and even selling my own stuff.
Just, other things that seem more interesting then playing videogames. Especially some of these real shitty games comin now adays, or just playing the same old stuff.
