I know, I've vanished, I do that. Burnout. It sucks all the ass.
Anyway, hear me out on this. You'll start to see it, and you'll shit enough bricks to make a second Fort Knox.

We all know Super Sonic is basically Super Saiyan. Not only is he now golden, but his eyes are green too. Fair, Sega basically admitted that Toriyama inspired it. (Rip in Pepperoni, Toriyama-sama.)
But consider: Not only is Sonic Hedgehog!Goku, but Shadow is Hedgehog!Vegeta. There ain't no denying that one.
Another easy one is Trunks:Silver. Time travelers from hellscape futures.
Now consider their mental Ability Scores. (Yes, I know, D&D in a Sonic-DBZ comparison, please just roll with it.) High Intelligence (INT) is good for long-term planning, high Wisdom (WIS) is good for perception and people-senses, and high Charisma (CHA) is good for intimidation and charm alike.
Sonic and Goku are both very seat-of-their-pants guys, and neither could be considered great at long-term planning. Vegeta is clearly a plan-in-advance guy with little thought about immediate consequence, and Shadow was led around by the nose in his own game - while leading Eggman in the same way in SA2. Trunks and Silver had to fight a friggin' eternal war where very, very few people were even capable of taking on the menace at hand, either from lack of people or lack of power, and never had to lead in any way.
Sonic/Goku: High Wis/Cha, low Int. Shadow/Vegeta: High Int/Cha, low Wis. Silver/Trunks: High Int/Wis, low Cha. (Psychic powers tend to lend themselves towards any of the three scores, btw, so that Int is probably doing the heavy lifting for his Telekinesis. Pun intended.)
So most of that probably seems pretty basic, once it's said out loud. But it gets worse.

Tails looks up to Sonic, idolizes him, needs his approval. He has a higher Int and Wis, and less Cha. He's scholarly, but still pretty skilled in a fight. Tails is Gohan.
Piccolo is tied by his life force to the Guardian of Earth, and is very much a loner. The only way he isn't automatically comparable to Knuckles is that the latter does get fooled fairly often, which would mean a lower Wis than Piccolo.
Amy is basically Chi-Chi, but pre-successful wedding. 'Nuff said.
Mephiles is straight-up Zamasu (and/or Goku Black). Funnily enough, Zamasu came second, so...?
Eggman is some dark combination of Frieza and Dr. Gero, with Cell's ego.

Due to the sheer amount of Tails/Cream shipping, you could easily make the case for Cream to be Videll, but considering Cream is ridiculously skilled for her age you could add that too.
Big is some strange combination of Majin Buu and Hercule/Mr. Satan. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Metal Sonic is the odd man out here, but I think you could make a reasonable argument that his closest approximation is a villainous version of Android 16. Not just because "muh robot," either, but because robotic personality. (18 and 17 don't act, or sound, like machines, now do they?) You could also go with adding some bits of Metal Cooler.
