Growth Roleplay v31 - Zora

Here is another roleplay with growth as the center theme, this time with

Enjoy!
=======================================================
"Move, move, move!" The human poked the dog sized lizard with a spear, urging him to walk on the corridor. "You're next! Into the P.R.E. chamber!"
The lizard, Zora by his name, hissed angrily, and even stuck out his tongue. "Alright, I'm moving! You don't have to be rude..." He barely reached the ankle of the man, yet he was not afraid of the bigger creature.
"Less talk, more walk!" The man growled.
Zora sighed, but he was already on his feet. Here comes another fight! He could already hear the chanting of the crowd from the grandstand of the stadium.
Since the dawn of time humans kept magical and speech-capable beasts as pets, servants, or in Zora's case, cage fighters. The lizard was born in the corridors of the quarters beneath the arena, and taught to fight other animals of the same misfortune in the name of entertainment. People came to the arena to see the fight, place bet, win and lose money - and if the animals put on a great show, they were fed and kept well. If not, the punishment was severe.
Zora knew nothing else of the world other than the arena. He heard that humans terraformed the outside world as well, by building skyscrapers, inventing electricity, connecting cities with roads, and so on. But here, it was not much else: eating, sleeping, training, and of course, fighting.
The only invention that reached the arena was the very same invention that boosted the interest of cage fighting animals among the humans. It was the soul and heart of the arena. The central piece of their entertainment. They called it the Physiomorphic Recalibration Emitter, or P.R.E. for short...
But in practice, it was a growth ray.
Illegal in all states and all across the globe, yet still used in multiple underground fighting arenas, the owners of the place always explained that the growth ray was a blessing to the animals: it empowered them, and literally blew them to the size of monsters of the ages. They should be thankful, earning such a power! But for Zora, it was more like a curse. Being a 30 feet tall lizard giant was indeed intoxicating, but it also reminded him how vulnerable he was to the humans. Even with all that might and strength he was still a prisoner!
And the man behind him with the spear reminded him every minute. Zora entered the chamber, and waited for the large coil-like machine to whir up, aim, and shot him with a crimson colored laser beam. Then a hydraulic pressure plate knocked him out of the chamber before the transformation began.
Zora stood up with shaking legs, and he already felt the familiar warmness spreading through his limbs. The crowd cheered and went crazy as they witnessed the once dog sized lizard bulging and swelling, doubling in size in mere seconds, then doubling again, and growing further and further. Zora clenched his teeth, submitting himself to the transformation. He had no choice. The dirt was pushed aside under his swelling feet, his tail lengthened and thickened, his head ascended up, closer to the thick reinforced bars that surrounded the dome-shaped arena.
When he reached 30 feet, and his growth stopped, he looked at the crowd. There were hundreds, if not thousands of people, each one smaller than a single one of his paws - yet behind the bars they were completely safe to watch how two colossal beasts soon punch and kick each other. The announcer hyped them even more, but Zora was not paying attention.
He took a deep breath, watching the other side of the arena. Better be focused; if the owners are not satisfied with their behavior, they're gonna use the ray in reverse and with more intensity, shrinking them down to the size a fingernail for a week. He doesn't have to win, they just have to put on a good show - on an epic scale.

In those fights, he tended to use his wings as tools to try avoiding the opponent, which had annoyed the presenters enough that now they tended to overdo it when he was in a fight now, growing him up to 50 feet, to keep him from having room to just dodge the opponents...
Fortunately the magical and otherwise different creatures were surprisingly hard to harm in their giant states, something about not wanting to turn children off from the fights... Still, Geech sighed, longing to fly outside again...
"Come and get me, little worm!" Zora teased her in a deep, booming voice that the crowd loved so much. Of course he didn't mean it - Zora an Gabrie fought many times in the past; and probably will fight more in the future. But that meant nothing in the arena: they had to smash...
And so the gigantic bodies collided; the earth rocked. Gabrie curled around his chest, but Zora managed to pull her off and throw her to the cage; the thick bars rattled. The crowed cheered and yelled; rooted for their favorites; bet were made, popcorn was munched... For the people, it was a great show. For the giants, it was slavery and misery. But they did their job to the best of their abilities.
More than half an hour later, the gigantic snake fell to the ground with a loud thud; and Zora was announced victorious. The crowd applauded and screamed of joy, and Zora, panting, scratched but still standing, sighed. It was over. Gabrie will be healed of course beneath the arena - they didn't want to lose any of their trained "pets".
At the very top of the dome a large nozzle appeared, and shot both giants with a beam of laser, this time in white color. Zora immediately felt the power leaving his body; he started to shrink, and the world around him grew into the same cruel place he witnessed every day.
But at least he stopped at his normal size - a sign of his captors' satisfaction with their performance. Good. That means he doesn't have to fight for a while, and he can take a rest... Hopefully.
A man with a spear, once again much larger than the lizard, poked him from behind, urging him to leave the arena. Zora growled, "okay, I'm going!", and left while shaking his head.
His opponent this time would be a wolfman named Jannos. The wolf's body was practically covered in muscle, and he had to admit, if there was ANYONE who loved this life, it was probably him..
The wolf, not much for words, came tearing out. Despite only being 30 feet tall, he was all muscle, unlike the lean bat, whose light weight and hollow bones meant he wasn't nearly as sturdy as the lycan he was about to face..
The fight took a while before Geech finally found himself on the ground, with the Wolf readying a finishing blow, before the bat finally blasted him in the face with his echolocation. No human could tell what had happened, but to a wolf, it was a sonic attack causing a good deal of disorientation, allowing the bat to flip the wolf and attempt to hold him down before the fight was called for time.
Returning to normal made the bat sulk, it always felt so draining, in more ways than one, as the wolf glared balefully at him for the cheap trick, as his own scrawny frame was being led back to his cell...
"Who are the contestants?" he asked one of the human guards. The man turned towards the lizard with a bored face. At first he didn't want to answer, but then shrugged. "Geech and Jannos, if you really want to know."
"The bat and the wolf? Man, I like Geech. He usually is the biggest!" Zora nodded. "And he has a few tricks in his sleeves, like..."
"How about you shut up and just eat your porrige!" The man growled. Zora snorted, but he remained silent. Instead, he listened to the muffled voices and the rumbles that came through. Even the pebbles jumped from time to time on the ground, and dust fell from the ceiling. The other animals were whispering about the odds and chances. That is, until the rumbles stopped, and they heard the crowd cheered at the distance.
"Sounded like a good fight," said Zora. "Good. They won't be shrunken much then."
Indeed, a few minutes later, he saw the bat walking on the corridor, escorted by one of the guards. Zora waved with his hand as an approval. If Gheesh was walking, it means he won the battle. Poor Jannos, he seems to have a loosing streak.
"Next? What do you mean next?!" asked Zora in disbelief. Will there be another fight...? So soon?! "Hey, I just got here from the arena, so..."
"Shut up! The crowd wants to see the winners fighting."
Zora backed up all the way to the wall. "You can't do this...! My wounds didn't even healed properly!"
"All the spicier! People will love that. You can show them your battle scars!"
"But I don't want to...!"
The guard pulled out a rope net and threw it at the little lizard. Zora got tangled up in the net and tried to resist; but the guard simply picked him up. "You are coming, and you're gonna fight, or we shrink you down to the size of a dust bunny!"
"I don't care!" Zora shrieked. "I don't want to grow, and I don't want to fight...!"
From the corner of his eyes Zora saw that another man grabs Geech as well. So the bat will be his opponent... They want to put the two winners together for an encore! The little lizard tried to kick and bite and fight, but it was impossible in the net against the much larger human. He was carried back to the P.R.E. chamber...
"Easy, boy!" The guard was getting angrier at the restless lizard. He really started to struggle to keep him in his arms. "That's enough! You're lucky the crowd wants to see you grow! After the fight, you'll spend one entire week smaller than a caterpillar!"
"I don't care! Just let me go!" Zora finally managed to bite his captor, but it was too late. The man tossed him into the chamber and shut the door close.
But Zora still didn't give up. He was angry. They're gonna grow him again...! He doesn't want to! He wanted to stay small! Stupid machine...! The small lizard ran up to the metallic cover and started to scratch and kick it. But it was no use, the builders knew very well how to construct a durable machine, capable of withstanding any creature's attack.
...Or so they thought. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to everyone, inside the machine a screw got loose during the last maintenance. And that screw fell by the constant kicks and hits of the lizard, hitting one of the internal mirrors, ultimately changing the phase of the laser beam that was about to hit Zora.
The lizard finally gave up when the nozzle aimed at him. "Fine... Grow me big," he mumbled. And then the ray hit him, as per usual, only this time the color was... purple.
"That's... odd," said Zora, but there was no time to think. The hydraulic plate pushed him to the outside, into the arena, where the crowd cheered for the arrival of the new fighter.
"Shouldn’t I be big?” He frowned. He was most certain that the ray hit him, and yet... His transformation failed. He turned his head back and up, looking for some guidance from his captives. Is the show still going on...? Should he go back for another dose?
Apparently the crowd noticed that something went astray. A 50 feet tall bat beast against a pet sized lizard? Was this a joke? Where is the growth?! They started booing after a minute. Apparently the organisers thought that Zora might missed his transformation, because the nozzle built in the top appeared, and aimed at the little lizard, presumably with the intention to hive him the size boost he missed. But then Zora hiccupped... and grew twice as large.
“Ah, good, here it comes,” he sighed in relief, and the nozzle distracted. For some reason his growth was slow and weak. Zora chuckled: apparently not even the humans’ mysterious machine wanted this fight!
He was around 5 feet tall when he approached Geech. Maybe he can use his small size to his advantage, at least till it lasts!
The crowd, happy that the growth had began, cheered and shouted once again, hyped up on the upcoming colossal fight.
"Sorry.." he whispered, before raising a paw and attempting to step on his tiny opponent...
Never ever had happened that the lizard was facing someone who were much, much larger than him. And when the colossal paw emerged above his head and descended quickly, with its shadow engulfed the not-so-big lizard, he froze for a moment. The bat was humongous, and so was his paw! With toes larger than himself...
But then he snapped out and dodged. Just in time, because the paw landed hard where he stood a second ago. The earth was concrete hard in the arena, the dirt compressed so much under the giants’ stomps over the years, yet it still left a shallow footprint behind, and a quake shook the entire facility. The crowd threw their arm in the air and shrieked in joy.
Zora was less happy; he hit his shoulder as he rolled over fast. The pain paralysed him for a moment, but then it disappeared – as he had another small growth spurt, and grew to 8 feet tall.
He shook himself. “Okay, let’s see what you’ve got...!” He said as he charged and ran into Geech’s leg head first like a battering ram. It didn’t do much except for a headache, but then another growth spurt made it go away, as he swelled and bulged again, doubling his size to 15 feet.
“What is wrong with these growths today...?” He mumbled as he realized not only his headache was gone, but all his previous injuries and bruises were... healed? The mid-sized giant didn’t understand.
"Looks like I grow whenever I take a hit," he thought. Is that a new feature? Did they change the machine? Nonetheless, he still had a job: to make a spectacular fight. And it seemed the people enjoyed the variety: a creature starts small and then grows progressively!
Zora shook his enlarged body, and with heavy steps he ran towards his opponent. This time the ground quaked under his increased weight. His plan was to jump aside at the last moment, catch the bat's wing, and drag him down to the floor.
*What's going on, if he keeps growing, this is gonna be unfair in other direction!* he thought to himself...
Zora shrieked of pain; the entire 50 feet tall bat, with all of his weight was on top of him. The crowd whooped and shrieked and applauded, but the lizard heard very little of it, his ear were ringing.
And then... the pain was gone after a few seconds. Even Zora was surprised, he looked up at the seemingly endless mass of bat. How could he resist to all of those forces...
And with that, his body rumbled like bever before. Warmness spread across his limbs, which started to stretch as another growth wave rushed over his body. Zoea grew to 25 feet, then 30 feet in height, his paws pushing the dirt further, his tail curled and wagged, thickening and lengthening.
“Finally, my fighting size!” He said with a chuckle.
Then something unexpected happened: he did not stop growing. 30 feet, which was his all time maximum size, crawled up to 35 feet. And then 40 feet...
“What...?!” No one detected the confusion in Zora’s widening eyes. Geech was lifted up and up, until his head touched the ceiling bars as the lizard was growing beneath him, bigger than he remembered. The crowd went crazy in excitement.
At this point even the organisers noticed that something was wrong. Very wrong. Even though it was technically still the middle of the battle, the size ray built into the top emerged to aim at the giants – only to completely break when Zora grew once again, reaching 50 feet, and with Geech still sitting on top, the giant bat’s head smashed the equipment that was supposed to shrink them down.
The mood started to shift in the arena. People suspected that the lizard was not supposed to keep growing this big.
Right after the size ray broke, the announcer’s voice were heard from the speakers: “Ladies and gentlemen... It appears we have to interrupt this fight due to some small technical difficulties. But don’t worry, our technicians are on it immediately! Meanwhile, I would humbly request you to move towards the buffet in a calm and orderly fashion...”
Zora managed to crawl out from under his bat opponent. The two giants now stood next to each other, but since Zora was longer than high, they had very little space to fight, or do anything meaningful anyway.
“Are we in trouble?” asked Zora as he suddenly hiccupped to 50 feet tall. Maybe he finally stops, now that he reached the theoretical maximum these machines wee capable of!
But then why does he still feel the heat...
"So, you liking being so big??" he gave him a friendly slap, wondering if that would make him bigger again...
"Wish it had ben me, honestly... You keep growing, maybe you can finally get out of here!"
The door suddenly opened on Geech's side, presumably they brought out the size machine that was in one of the two P.R.E. chambers. A nozzle aimed at Zora, but then the mighty lizard shivered, and grew yet another 10 feet taller; his leg slided in front of the door and broke down the nozzle.
And then he grew to 80 feet. Muscles rippled, limbs lenghtened, toes and claws dug into the ground. Half of his body was curling around the edge of the arena, with his mighty tail that was bigger than many other giants curling around the rest. It was getting cramped around him.
The crowd realized that Zora might not stop for a while, and they hastily left the grandstand. Panic started to emerge, people knocked each other over. People that were so, so small from the giants' perspective...
"Why did I not stop growing yet?!" Zora grinded his teeth as he felt another surge coming. His only hope now was the one remaining, functional size ray on his side, behind the entrance. The one that originally malfunctioned...
"Stop it, or we'll shot!" yelled one of the guards. The regular crowd disappeared from the grandstand, replaced by men with all kind of weapons aiming at the enlarging lizard.
"I can't..." Zora replied with a deep, booming voice. "I just keep growing, I'm telling you!"
"Stop it!"
And then they shot. Darts and bullets scratched the skin of the mighty giant. Zora roared in pain, tensed his muscles; but one second later his body started to push the thick metal bars all around the arena, at once, as he surged to even bigger heights. The 130 feet tall lizard tried to curl as small as possible, but it was a futile effort. The bars however, started to bend by the immense forces the growing body of the colossal giant applied on them... He was almost three times the size of the mighty Geech, and he tried to protect him as well, so he had no choice but to push, and push, and push against the bars. The cacophony of stretching flesh, growling sound and screeching metal filled the air.
He angrily screeched at the guards, shattering windows and glasses with his sonic waves...
“Where is that god damn shrink ray?” Shouted one of them. “Bring down the bastard before it brings down the cage!” By this time the metal groaned and moaned under the pressure the 150 feet tall lizard applied on the structure. Zora felt like he was squeezed into a box; but he had no choice. It’s either him or the arena...
“No! Let the cage suffocate him! Or if he breaks it, we have a clear shot...!”
SNAP! The metal bars that so far bended suddenly break at various points. Zora tilted his head back as he broke through the cage, letting out a deafening, monstrous roar. Like a creature hatching from an egg, he stood up on his hind legs and pushed the broken bars further away, creating an opening on the top. And then, as he grew another 20 feet higher, his head broke through the concrete ceiling. Tons of debris fell on him and rolled round the ground of the arena, but they were nothing but harmless rocks to the gigantic creature.
Zora blinked as a sudden light shined on the scene of destruction: sunlight. It was the first time he ever saw such a phenomenon... And it was beautiful.
“WE ARE LEAVING!” He announced with a booming voice, and grabbed Geech to put him on his back. The bat, once might and huge, the biggest of them all, now barely arm sized for the lizard who reached the height of a water tower.
“Prepare the shrink ray now... As soon as he moves away from the P.R.E. chamber, shoot!!!”
"Wow, you're huge! Keep this up, and you're going to be bigger than those buildings outside!"
HE still chose to hide his jealousy, after all, what were the odds of them making the same mistake twice???
Then the next moment the earth piled up, tearing up trees and benches, breaking the road. People screamed when suddenly a large nose appeared from below, followed by an enormous lizard head, pushing the earth up like a giant mole reaching for the surface.
“It’s... the arena...!” someone yelled. “It’s one of those animals!”
“The what?!”
“You know, those illegal kaiju fights... But this one is way bigger than they usually are...”
Zora, hearing this, replied with a groan. “And I keep growing, so how about you moving aside as fast as possible!”
He didn’t have to tell them twice. Zora poked out his arms and widened the opening. It was such a strange world up here! So many greens, trees, and gray boxes of glass and steel at the distance... Were they buildings? This must be a city! But he didn’t have much time for sightseeing, he wanted to crawl out!
Underground, in the arena, the place was freed up as the gargantuan lizard moved most of his body out of the way.
“Good. Can we shoot him now, please?” asked one of the technicians in relief. The door next to the P.R.E. chamber opened, and the nozzle aimed at the currently 200 feet tall and 600 feet long lizard, with the intention of shrinking him back. However, no one repaired the mirror in the inside yet...
"G-get moving! They're gopnna shrink us with that stupid machine again!!" he looked at the device being prepped, scared of ending up tiny again.
Seeing the surface again was what he'd dreamed
of ever since they'd nabbed him, after all!
Half of his great body was already out on the surface, and now Zora tried to readjust his hind leg to get a grab. He almost stomped on a dozen guards as he placed his left paw on the grandstand; the chairs and railing immediately disappeared under the 20 feet long sole, and the entire structure bent underneet the immense weight.
"Almost out..." growled Zora. Unfortunately, he ran out of time - the nozzle whirred up, and the next moment a laser beam was shot towards the massively overgrown lizard. However, it was not white as expected, but the same pink that hit him earlier...
He finally noddedn, leaping from the reptile's mighty back and spreading his wings, taking the blast from the cannon, closing his eyes and ready to shrink to nothing....
The outside was amazing. Fresh air, green trees all around. Or at least he thought those plants were trees, since they didn’t even reach his elbow. Between the trees there were tiny pathways, with the width of his toes, which led out of this forest... And surrounding the forest were buildings. Large structures of metal, concrete and glass, some towered even higher than himself!
Zora looked down and saw the tiny people, all of them distancing themselves from the colossal giant. At least he stopped growing, so it seemed.
“Move away, going through!” He announced in a booming voice, and made the first steps quickly but carefully. It was funny how the ground quaked under him. He must have grown 10 times his regular giant size, which means he must be a hundred times bigger than normally. Gosh, that was a potent spurt!
But now he had to focus on getting away from the people, as far as possible, so he can enjoy freedom a little while before they find him and shrink back...
“Geech, are you okay back there...?” He asked worriedly. Peeking back he saw that the bat hadn’t change in size yet. Zora guessed that the pink color meant “intense but delayed change.”
As the massive lizard moved forward, people ran away to give him more space – no one wanted to be flattened under a 20 feet long paw, or whiplash by a train sized tail. Zora still had to move the trees away, bending them as if they were tall grass. He left quite the trail behind, as if a team of construction workers had demolished a good chunk of the park.
As he approached the roads at the edge of the park, cars honked and changed direction, nearly ran into each other. Traffic jams had formed, pedestrians ran to the other side screaming and pointing at the gargantuan “monster” and his companion. Zora was able to peek into one of the tall buildings’ window; an eyeball the size of the window itself filled the view. The owner shrieked when she saw the giant eye blink.
“Damn, I wish I was smaller,” he told to Geech. “I am way to big! How am I gonna fit through those streets?”
Suddenly, a helicopter appeared above their heads, and someone spoke through a megaphone. “Giants! Stop there right now! You’re gonna be shrunk down to molecular level if you make one more step!”
Zora, as a sign of disobedience, placed a paw on the road I front of him. The surface immediately cracked and sank a few feet deep.
"Y-you just try it, pests! We just finally got free from your tricks, a-and we are NOT going back!"
He had to admit a lot of it was bluster, but at least if they DID get shrunk that small, they'd probably be impossible to find...
"Here we go!" He announced, then he stepped on the road. Just like before, the pavement intermediately broke under his weight, spider like cracks ran yards away from the impact surface, and Zora felt his paws sank a bit into the ground. He chose the widest street, just barely enough for the 200 feet tall, 600 feet long creature to move through. Still, his shoulders occasionally damaged the facades, and his tail hit the side of a building from time to time, breaking through walls and bringing down a rain of debris. Loud thuds and earthquakes accompanied his every step.
People left their vehicles almost instantly, and chose to run by feet. But that also meant that Zora had a bunch of abandoned cars, buses and trucks in front of them, not to mention the various street objects like lamp posts, phone booths, trash bins, and so on. He had no choice but to step on these, after he made sure no one was around of course.
"Why does this feel good," he asked after the umpteenth vehicle flattened under his humongous soles. They were so fragile and small!
After a while Zora noticed a big and shiny, luminous surface with moving pictures on one of the large buildings. According to Geech, it was a jumbotron - and Zora spotted his own image on the screen.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We interrupt your regular programming with breaking news. Reports are flooding in of a massive monster rampaging through the downtown district. This creature, described as a 200-foot-tall lizard, is the result of an illegal growth ray usage originated from an underground cage-fight arena. Apperently the match gone horribly wrong, as this creature is much, much larger that the typical contester of such events. Witnesses say it began its destructive path just minutes ago, toppling buildings and sending terrified citizens fleeing for their lives. Furthermore, there is another creature on it's back, a giant bat with the height of 50 feet.
Authorities have issued an immediate warning: avoid any contact with the creatures at all costs. Do not approach them under any circumstances, as their movements are unpredictable and incredibly dangerous. Emergency services are on the scene, but containment efforts are proving difficult given the creatures' immense size and strength.
We are awaiting further details from officials and scientists about the origins of this unbelievable size and whether the monsters can be stopped. For now, please stay indoors, move to the nearest safety bunker, and monitor emergency channels for updates. We'll bring you more information as the story develops. Stay safe, everyone."
"Wow, I look awesome," noted Zora, posing in front of the jumbotron, which was for him barely as big as his entire head. "A bit too big... But awesome."
The bat pouted for a moment, before chuckling. "I guess you're just too big a deal now, Zora! At least I got onto the news! Mmm, but I think you better get moving, who knows when those tiny bugs will show up, again!
More helicopters appeared as the massive lizard turned around the corner, although they were wise enough to keep a safe distance. They recorded Zora’s and Geech’s every move, every ground shaking stomp, wall cracking friction between the buildings, or accidental tail-whipped smashed roof.
“Oops... Hope that was not expensive,” said Zora as another top floor collapsed by the slightest touch of his inadvertent tail movement. “I swear this thing has its own mind...”
Then as he turned at the next corner, he suddenly stopped. Before them were a line of strange vehicles, green colored, more metallic and robust, and all of them had a strange tube pointing towards the giants. “Tanks,” as Geech explained.
“Are they dangerous?” asked Zora with genuine interest. Despite the fact that he whispered, his booming voice was heard across the street: the answer came from a megaphone somewhere among the tanks.
“We represent a lethal force, giant!” The voice was male, calm, and had a commanding tone. It reminded Zora to the owners of the arena. “Cease any movement related activity and wait for the arrival of the shrink ray! Do as we say and you won’t be punished that much. Resist, and we turn your skin into a Swiss cheese.”
Zora had no idea what a Swiss cheese was, but he suspected it had a lot of holes. He turned his head around and looked at Geech, hoping for an answer. Also, it seemed that Geech’s shrinkage was awfully delayed to the point where Zora started to doubt if the bat was even hit in the first place...
He laughed loudly, forgetting that HE was not quite so lucky to have a suit of armor on his skin...
Zora just noticed now that it wasn't just the vehicles that lined up on front of them. There were a lot of humans, mostly behind covers, at the corners, on the rooftops. Tiny figurines, but still humans, and each had some kind of metallic stick in their hands that Zora couldn't really recognize, but he guessed they were guns. Those metal spilling things could hurt, but the giant lizard felt confident about his own strength.
So he made a step closer to the army. His frame, large as the office building next to him, cast a shadow on the wide street. The earth quaked once again under his weight. He clenched his toes, digging up a truck load worth of dirt and asphalt, and tensed his huge muscles.
"Bring it on...!" He roared proudly.
"Okay... Shoot the bat first," the human leader gave the order. Zora's eyes widened. Geech...! He didn't think that they're gonna attack HIM first...!
The first rows of tanks already sent their ammunition, the loud blast echoed between the buildings and rattled the windows. BAM, BAM, BAM! A dozen guns were also fired, and the colossal lizard watched in horror as all the projectiles hit his friend...
Geech fell off of Zora's back, laying on the ground behind him. The lizard roared louder, his brain was filled with rage. He changed his position to cover his friend as much as possible, while keeping up a threatening pose at the same time. It seemed to be effective, the gunfire stopped; but Zora was worried that Geech might took too much...
"You should have just shrink back..." he whispered, not he dared not to look back.
And then... A rumble shook the entire street. It felt like a genuine earthquake, and both Zora and the army was confused as well.
His whole body began rumbling, shaking the entire street, as he felt a familiar power building up inside of him!
"Wh-what...?" he managed to say, before he suddenly doubled in size in an instant! But it didn't end there, as he did it again! As his paws, wings and head stretched out into buildings, trees, even pushing Zora back! And he just kept growing! Finally it seemed to stop, as a now 350 foot groaned with relief, slowly standing up, and up, and UP!
"Whoa! Hehe, I think I got what you got, Zora! Hehe, come on, little bugs, hit me again!" he challenged them, snickering at how TINY everything looked, now!
His friend grew. And then grew more. And then more, until they were the same size. And then even more! The mighty lizard, who was already a record breaker in the history of monster fights, had to look UP once again! On both sides of the street buildings rumbled and collapsed as the giant bat’s thighs pushed into them, the concrete had no chance to stop the bulging muscles and masses. Geech’s head towered over even more roofs as he now competed with the skyscrapers.
“Geech! You’re alright!” Zora turned around and hugged his leg. “And... you’re big!” The giant lizard chuckled. Then he turned back to the army. “Try to stop us now, assholes!”
The tanks quickly retreated to give space to the beasts. As the pair marched on, leaving even a bigger path of destruction – Geech dragged all the facades with him, and left a street wide paw print behind, - the general who was speaking with the giants earlier picked up a phone. “Where is that god damn shrink ray...? We need it, NOW!”
"Hehe, you really merssed up this time, humans!" he couldn;'t help himself, he had to kick at a smaller building, enjoying that he was so big that he didn't even feel the glass shattering against his paw!
"Now who's worthless?!"
Seeing that the path opened, Zora continued his way leaving the city center. It was so strange when every step he made was followed by an even bigger, louder boom behind him, as his friend stomped on the ground even harder. Both giants had a hard time fitting through the main street, and many other buildings suffered from the presents of such kaiju level beasts.
Luckily, after a few more minutes, another helicopter appeared, floating in front of the giants. “Zora! Geech!” The voice was angry and commanding. “This is your owner speaking! Turn around now! You two are in so much trouble, I’m gonna stuff you into a glass bottle for the rest of your lives...!”
But then another chopper appeared above it, this one with a police sign above it. “James Rolson, you are under arrest for running an illegal monster cage fight arena, and personally hold responsible for not just using an unauthorised size alteration Physiomorphic Recalibration Emitter, but overgrowing these animals to disastrous levels...! Land your vehicle immediately!”
“Oh, crap...” The other chopper tried to get away, but Zora quickly reached out and cut the tail just by pinching it with two of his giant fingers. James’s chopper started to spin around, and crash-landed softly a few blocks away. People crawled out, rubbing their heads in dizziness.
“You’re welcome, officers,” the mighty lizard said with a grin.
“You two, don’t move! Don’t make this situation worse!”
But Zora didn’t listen, and he marched forward. Soon they reached the suburban area, where they were finally able to stretch their limbs properly by placing their legs on separate streets, simply standing above the few story high houses.
“We should move on,” he said with a heavy sigh. “We can enjoy this while it lasts, but they will eventually shrink us back... I mean, it’s not that hard to find us.” The colossal lizard made a few more steps, shaking the street. His paws were no match to anything in the suburban area. Even the trees couldn’t fight against his toes. “I honestly wouldn’t mind anyway. We are way, way too big...! I feel like I’m an aberration against nature...” He shivered. “Let’s head towards the mountains. At least I can finally look up to something.”
Hw groaned, before gasping, worrying that he'd hurt his little friend, before suddenly feeling him trembling under his stomach!
And then the warmness spread, and his entire body shivered. His pupils widened from the realisation. “Oh no... Geech...! I’m gonna...” He couldn’t continue as all of his muscles suddenly tensed, billowed, and then the growth began. His legs spread further, and the swelling paws demolished house after house, exposing the basement and the owners who watched the gigantic lizard blowing to even bigger sizes. 200 feet became 250 feet, then 300 feet... At 350 feet Zora gulped and looked Gleech into the eye who managed to climb off by that time. And then the mighty giant shivered again, and expanded further to 400 feet!
“Ladies and gentlemen...” They heard a reporter nearby, “He’s... growing... My god... He’s growing even bigger!”
By the time he stopped, Zora reached 500 feet in height. By more than doubling his size, he became a living skyscraper, a colossal giant rivalling the monsters of fiction.
THe bat l;ooked at the crater he'd made when he fell, a bit embarrassed. "Well, at least anyone with any sense had already evacuated..."
“Geech... This is too much!” Zora was shaking his head. He was in a mild shock. “I am too big! Maybe we should wait for the humans to shrink us back...” He made a step, and it caused an even more powerful earthquake. The cars jumped into the air, and the street sunk under the weight of the heavy paws a couple of feet deeper.
"Do you really want to waste this chance, Zora...|?" the bat flew up, sitting onto Zora's back again. "Well,. if that's what you want, then we can stay right here and wait for it..."
“Nah, you’re right. I don’t like being this big, but I can imagine they are furious now... Let’s not wait for them,” said the colossal giant, and continued his walk further from the city. His paws became so wide every step demolished another house, as the streets were simply too narrow for him to navigate. Thud, thud, thud, he moved faster than the speed limit around these area, and people found it hard to follow them by cars. The helicopters had no such trouble though, but they kept their distance behind the duo.
“We need to mount the shrink ray onto a chopper...!” said the lead technician back at the arena. They were dismounting the machine in the meantime, turning it into a portable version.
He quickly explained he'd heard those words from some cowboy comic he'd read once before being captured.
"They can't catch you!"
Meanwhile, they managed to put the size ray onto a chopper. But this time the police and the military supervised the mission instead of the regular crew of the arena – most of them were arrested for the illegal activity they were doing.
“Just let’s get this over with,” said the general who was in charge. “They already caused millions of dollars worth of damage, and we lose more every second! Come on people, we have a giant lizard and bat to hunt for!”
The chopper slowly departed, heading towards the edge of the city, following the mega giants.
"Leave us alone, you annoying insects! Or I'll show you what we bats DO to annoying insects!!"
“Ah, not these again.” He sighed. “Go away! You don’t want to mess with us!”
The chopper, though they definitely could hear the booming voices, didn’t respond. Instead, the machine mounted on the belly of the vehicle aimed at the giants, and the next moment a bright, thin laser beam was shot... Hitting Geech right in the middle of his back.
“Oh, crap! They’re shrinking us back!” said Zora, and he already felt the bat trembling and shivering on his back...
Feeling something warm inside him pushing back against the cold of the shrinking ray, he began vibrating until he finally let out a LOUD roar, as he doubled in size once more! He barely managed to get off of Zora before growing again, and again!
Finally he stopped, though when he rose again, he, and everyone else, gasped, as the bat now stood at 1200 feet!
“Retreat! Retreat!” They heard from the tiny chopper. The vehicle tried to get back as fast as rhey could to avoid the enlargening wings of the growing bat, who reached the size of the Empire State Building before he finally stopped.
“Oh. My. Gosh.” Said Zora looking at his magnified friend. His claw was larger than his enlarged form was back in th3 arena! Zora couldn’t believe such a size was even possible. “You idiots! Can’t you see you’re only blasting us bigger?!”
“Sir... it’s... unbelievable...” They gave the report to the general. “He grew even larger! The size ray backfired!”
“Make the scientists analyse the situation.”
“And what should we do in the meantime...?”
“Evacuate the nearby cities before they could stomp all the streets into smithereens... And blast their faces with whatever missiles we have...! Call in the airforce!”
He looked down and smirked. "I bet I could even lift you, now! Hey, want to go check out this thing called he beach?? I bet the water is deep enough for both of us! I think II can see it from up here!" he bent over, offering to carry Zora now...
The ground shook violently once the colossal bat started to move. The roads between his legs were nothing but thin stripes of gray.
"At this size, that beach thing looks like it's only about 10 minutes away or so, hehe!|
They arrived at the beach soon enough. The gigantic lizard jumped off, landing on the beach, immediately creating vast paw prints in the soft sand. People ran away: a tiny flock of tiny dots. Zora stretched his legs and tail, hundreds of feet. “Gosh, this looks nice! Also, look at the ocean... Finally, something bigger than us!” He even chuckled.
But it didn’t last long: soon, the military arrived at the beach. Tanks, choppers, fighter jets surrounded the kaiju creatures. And they started to attack without warning... Missiles and bullets hit hit both giants, explosions covered their hides and skin, smoke irritated their nostrils.
“Oh, come on...!” Roared Zora angrily. “We told you, this will only gr...” Then his body rumbled when he was caught by a series of large missiles, capable of destroy entire bunkers. It hurt only a little... Yet it was enough to start another chain reaction within three titanic lizard.
"Yes, that's right! Shoot the monster bat, hehe!" he couldn't help but chuckle as he began walking towards the army...
Zora couldn’t believe that the growth ray had such a mind boggling potential. He already surpassed Geech, and only grew further, becoming a dominant sight on the beach. As he hiccuped he grew to 2000 feet, before he finally stopped at around 2500 feet: nearly the height of the biggest man made object in the world. But since he was quadrupedal, he was more like a hill standing on four skyscraper sized legs.
“I told you! If you attack as, we keep growing bigger!” He stomped hard on the ground to emphasize his words. There was no need for such an earthquake: the message was clear. Or so the giant thought.
"Heh, guess you're staying bigger than me for a while. Want to take a walk out into the ocean???"
Of course, what neither of them knew, was that the nuclear option had been deemed appropriate,. now!
They thought that these colossuses are growing out of hand, and they can destroy an entire city within an hour if they chose to. And that level of threat must be answered immediately...
They still did what humans usually do around such magical beasts – didn’t listen to a single word of them. They considered a nuclear attack on the national threat they represented.
Meanwhile, Zora sighed at the beach. “You’re right, Geech. We cause minimal damage further from the city. Let’s head to the ocean.” He stepped into the water that felt like shallow puddle. His paws moved millions of tons of water around, awaking massive waves.
"But, you know? Being so big is so cool! There's nothing they can do to stop us, and we can do anything we want! ... As long as they don't try to shrink us again, I don't think there's anything they could do that could hurt us anymore!"
The helicopters still followed the giants from a distance. They didn’t want to lose sight, although at this point satellites had no trouble to follow them as well. Zora and Geech didn’t know, but they were not just observed, but targeted as well...
“Let’s sit down somewhere and wait for them to shrink us down,” said Zora while stepping over a cruise ship shorter than his arm. The passengers stared in awe as the massive body passed by them above, momentarily replacing the sky and casting a shadow over the entire vessel.
I don't mind saying, always dreamed of being big enough to just step on that stupid city for how it treated us, hehe!"
“You would enjoy stomping around an entire city, wouldn’t you?” He asked Geech. “I don’t know... Being big is something, but being this GIGANTIC... I mean... Hey, what’s that...?”
The topic of the question was a lone object approaching. They didn’t know, but it was the nuclear payload that targeted them with the very purpose of destroying both giants. Zora didn’t even realize that the choppers all left them minutes ago, retreating into a safe distance.
"Tiny little thing, are they trying to hit us with something???"
He tried sniffing at the thing, unknowingly putting his face right in its path!
A few seconds later the missile detonated - the entire bat was visibly shaking, and when he opened his mouth, a huge blast erupted.
Zora blinked worryingly. Did it hurt...? Geech certainly looked like he had some serious stomach ache...
By the time Geech finally stopped growing, he was no less than 3 miles tall - a true living and breathing mountain!
"Fuck them..." growled Zora as he tried to climb out of his 'prison'. "Couldn't they learn that attacking us only make us bigger?!"
"You ok down there? Heh, now you look smaller that you did back at the arena!" he offered one hand to the smaller giant, smirking, as he considered what he could do at this size...
"Maybe it's not too late... Maybe the humans learned their lesson. If you CAREFULLY step closer to a city, FINALLY they can use a shrink ray, don't you think?"
Zora wondered whenever that was true, and also how his friend would look like next to a large city... It must look like a big toy ground for the giga bat!
"Heh, I think my foot COULD cover the city below now!"| he giggled, feeling tickles as the army below desprately fired at the bat's paw, before he suddenly hiccupped, doubling in size once more!" Whoa! Did I just grow again...?"
"What the heck?!" asked Zora. Now he really felt small, a feeling he thought would he impossible!
Zora gulped. "The view is... fantastic! But we really have to shrink down, now..."
Meanwhile, Zora jumped down to look around the city. He was in awe how tiny everything was...! He constantly compared his limbs to the buildings, his tail was able to curle around parking lots, his head overshadowed malls.
In his bewilderment he didn't notice he was getting close to the city's nuclear power plant just outside the center...
Geech watched Zora walking on the ground far below, and chuckled, his voice alone shaking the grouind now! "Hey, Zora, you're looking so cute down there! Bet I could take you in a fight now~!" he wiggled his toes, shaking the ground even more as he watched the tiny titan walking around the evacuated city...
Zora was too occupied with his thoughts to notice his next step, which flattened the central building of the nuclear power plant. The radioactive core was smashed under his humongous soles, and his skin immediately absorbed the immense power.
"Easy to speak for you, Geech! You are so much bigger...!" Zora sighed. "And unless they attack me, I don't think I have a chanc..." He was suddenly interrupted when he felt the heat of a volcano rising inside him.
"Uh-oh."
Uhh, huh??" he could feel a tiny tremble running through the ground, as he watched the tiny lizard beginning to grow, and FAST!
He clenched his teeth as his muscles bulged, the stretching noise echoed across the lands, the earth was shaking like never before, adding more rumbling noises. Building collapsed around the giant, and even the ruins disappeared once a mighty toe rolled over them.
3 miles... 4 miles... 6 miles... Once again his eyes were at level with Geech - and then he quickly said goodbye as he swelled further, breaking through another layer of clouds, to 10 miles.
He became larger than the tallest mountain on Earth. His legs were on opposite edges of the tormented city. His tail cast a shadow on a large portion of the highway. His paws rest on multiple city blocks. His snout bigger than a cathedral.
He achieved growth that was beyond human comprehension - he grew more than all the growth caused by those cursed rays all over the world combined.
...and he was still growing...!
"Hey, no fair! I want to be the biggest!" he cried up, only half joking. "How are you getting so big, again???"
Then Zora took a deep breath...
...and suddenly DOUBLED his fantastic size, all the way to 30 miles! Before he finally stopped.
The world could believe it. Zora became a titan! A single paw rested on the entire city center, with toe claws curving above the districts...
But as he walked, leaving canyon sized paw prints behind, he just barely missed other settlements... People gasped by the sight of the immense body, the engulfing shadow, and the shaking earth.
"It's not fair that you keep getting bigger than me!" he complained, trying to fly after the lizard, but having troubles due to the size difference. He finally landewd, angrily smashing a city underfoot, frustrated at being left so far behind, before feeling the heat rising up inside of his body, as well, as he finally let our a roar, before hiccupping again and again, his body rumbling violently...!
The whole world watched as the two giga giants argued, while their ever increasing sized threatened the entire continent... And it seemed there was nothing they could stop this madness...!
It seemed his anger was finally boiling over as the young bat just continued to swell in size!
The land sank and moaned under the colossal weight. The horizon bended more and more for Geech. 40 miles. 50 miles. 56 miles...
And then, finally, to a whopping 100 miles. Three times as large as Zora. A single toe smashed an entire city into nothing! Clouds formed around his ankles...! And only satellites could capture his enormity - the people only saw parts of him and could see past his knee high - unless they were on the other side of the continent, where they saw the upper half of the mighty godlike bat.
"Geech... We are more than big enough... How much more do you want to grow...?!" Zora gulped in the shadow of his friend.
Hmm, at sizes like this, I could almost fly into space, huh?" he giggled a bit, his tantrum already forgotten.
All around the world people panicked. Scientists camped at various illegal arenas, examining the size rays, trying to figure out what went wrong - and how to make it right. Something caused a quantum feedback loop, that was sure...
It was quite difficult to work in constant earth quakes, or under a massive eyeball that filled the skies at one point. Others had to work in the shadows of a colossal toe-mountain, a tail the size of a country, or a wing tip resting on actual mountains.
People started to worship the giants, considering them the new gods of the world. They held sermons and rituals in the shadows of the mountainous legs, some even dared to touch the massive scales or skin cells. They could hide between the ridges!
Zora noticed none of them. He just sighed, and laid down on the countryside, with his gargantuan head resting just at the edge of another city, watching over the tiny patch of concrete and glass. He just wanted to be closer to the ground. He just wanted to be smaller...! Not 30 miles tall!!! Maybe if he closes his eyes and wishes hard enough...
"Hehe, oops. Hey, Zora, they are treating us like gods now! We kinda are, to them, huh? After all, one loose kick or wing flap, and we reshape the world, hehe!"
"I don't miss the old days," says Zor who was now only a sixth of thr bat's size, "but I do want to get smaller! Just a tidy bit..."
Meanwhile, the size rays suddenly went haywire. The scientists didn't understand what was happening: all of them rattled and started to spin around, until stey stopped - pointing right at the massive lizard, as if he became some kind of magnetic attraction to them. Moreover, they started to heat up, whirring and buzzing...
"What is happening here?!"
"They are overloading!"
"It must be the quantum entanglement effect! He became a hyperneuron magnet..."
"Shut them down!"
"We can't... The supercharged electric field keeps them running..."
...and then a series of colorful beams erupted from the ground from various points, all aiming at the lizard giant, pouring their energies though his skin.
"What the heck is this again," he roars. "Didn't you learn that attacking me will only blow me bigger...?!"
He had no idea that this was unintentional... But catastrophic nonetheless.
And then the shadow engulfed them...
Zora was growing, and he was growing fast. The titanic body swelled and bulged, gained dozens of miles like it was nothing. 50 miles of height quickly became 70, then 100. The entire continent rambled as he shot to 150 miles, then 200 miles - same as Geech, though only temporarily when he DOUBLED his size to 400 miles... Paws ploughed up countries. Toes overshadowed the landscape. His tail hovered over the ocean. The continent quickly shrank beneath his feet as he grew again... and again... and again...
"I'm... trying..." He lifted a leg up, freeing Geech, only to roll over him again with the next tremendous growth spurt of another 500 miles! Luckily, the gargantuan bat was equally durable.
"GOD DAMN IT! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" His roar stirred up the entire atmosphere and shook the ground. His heartbeat alone caused earthquakes.
"GEECH, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" He was worried that his friend was harmed; and even more worried what if he will grow even bigger...
He had to admit to feeling jealous,. but how on earth could he get that big???
But this led Zora to be restless. As a continental giant, he saw nothing but endless patches of brown, green and blue colors. Oceans were just blankets. Cracks formed under his toes that ashamed the grand canyon. Claws curved over mountains. The tectonic plates moved around.
"GEECH, WHAT THE HELL WILL WE DO?!" He asked desperately, shaking up the atmosphere. The earthquakes became constant all over the hemisphere around this supermassive colossus. Under his body cities switched to nighttime, and the stars disappeared from the skies. They were replaced by scales.
Zora growled, deafening a continent worth of creatures around.
"I wouldn't mind being bigger, but you're not having fun like I am. Too bad I can't just take the size back from you, huhh??"
The 2000 mile tall lizard closed his eyes, focusing on passing the strange energies that filled his veins to Geech.
The world held back their breath underneath thr mighty titan.
Seconds later, a POWERFUL rumbling could be felt, as a pair of MASSIVE bat ears rose ober the horizon, followed by the smiling face of Geech, to whom the planet was starting to look more like a large ball, as he giggled.
"WELL, YOU DIDN'T SHRINK, BUT NOW I AM SOOOO MUCH BIGGER!!" He laughed again, scooping the "tiny" lizard into a growing wing-hand, laughing more. "LET'S GET YOU OFF THE PLANET BEFORE YOU BREAK IT!"
The bat gulped as the supermassive hand scooped him up. Though it felt soft and warm, caring. That somehow calmed the lizard - if they leave the Earth, no harm can come to them...
Down below people's mind were blown: the bat became a celestial object, another planet next to the blue marble. Earth was nothing more than a Christmas ornament compared to the god!
"All those tiny people still worshipping us, and we're so big, they can't do anything about it!"
"I... guess... it's nice...?" He asked softly. For the first time since their enlargement he felt satisfaction. Being big was... awesome?
Suddenly, the lizards body started to tremble. Apparently, all the growth he held back suddenly wanted to erupt...
"Hehe, while he's doing that, why not see if you cna help me get even BIGGER, tiny people!" he teased towards the tiny planet!
"CAN'T... STOP... GROWING...!" He announced before he EXPLODED in size, swelling so massive that Earth became a tiny spot!
Down on the planet they saw nothing but a massive, sky filling eye...
Millions, then billions started to pray, worshipping their new gods.
Meanwhile, Zora outgrew Earth massively. Reaching hundreds of thousands of miles across, his size was competing with the Sun itself, the puny planet was less than claw size for the mighty lizard. He moaned and growled as the growth power fueled his cells, blowing him bigger. And bigger. And bigger...
A gigantic toe filled his view.
Unbeknownst to them they were monitored by an alien race in the next solar system, the Alpha Centauri. And some started to worship these growing individuals... Through their quantum telescope that sent a 4 dimensional wave across the cosmos, which Geech’s body absorbed.
And thus, the bat's growth skyrocketed, and grew across his own solar system, growing to millions and millions of miles long!
"I guess you're right..." sighed the lizard who stretched trillions of miles across by now.
Probably because of their immense size and growth, other civilizations started to worry what happens if they reach their galaxies... Multiple aliens started to work on weapons, more powerful than any Death Stars, to eliminate the threat.
Zora and Geech meanwhile enjoyed their nonstop growth that passed beyond the light year!
"Hehe, we're gonna be gods if we keep growing at this rate!"
Zora was thinking when their growth is gonna stop - he felt it was finally slowing down, which helped him remaining calm.
That's when the first quantum beam hit them, but instead of disintegrating them into smithereens, it sulercharged their molecules...
"What was that...?" Asked the mighty lizard, before both kf them began to tremble, shaking up the cosmos.
"Oh no...!"
