Hi, all!
I've noticed my English counterpart
seadragon did an update on our & his writing. That got me to thinking perhaps I should do the same just as a courtesy. Some of this is cut & paste, but I do feel it appropriate. Since Dragon and I have been writing together (a long time now), it's like our minds are in sinque most of the times.
update follows:
Been a long while since I did one of these, so I'll take a moment to thank everyone that's been keeping up with Whalsay.
Erlandia:
Myself and Vixyy have been on a recent push to try and get the trilogy published. We've had some recent interest, but nothing we can move forward with. I think we might have to start thinking about KDP on that. In the meantime, if you want to read the unedited first drafts, they're all in my gallery in the relevant folder. Just look for the section that says "The Erlandia Saga" and start with book 1. It's not a furry story, so don't expect anything on that front, but it does have murder, revenge, piracy, among other intriguing shenanigans. (*Vixyy here - it's really good.)
Bryn's War
Ah yes, the page one rewrite of what was originally a series of
thursdayprompt shorts. It's the story of an anthro fox (among others) in space. Get the idea of Starfox/Lylat Wars out of your head. This is about a recovering alcoholic vulpine engineer who, after leaving the military, works as the chief engineering officer of a quaint cargo ship. There's relatively recent pop culture references and my own twisted brand of humour thrown into the mix, plus I delve into hypothetical physics, not to mention the occasional zero gravity cum-shot. I'm joking about that last bit, btw. Or am I? Again, it is in its own folder in my gallery. It's only a few parts in, but it will eventually be a full novel. (*Vixyy - this one is equally good.)
Whalsay and the Wulver
Another collaborative novel between myself and Vixyy. We've ventured into Celtic/Scottish folklore, fantasy, and misadventure. A far cry from the open seas and a swinging hammock aboard the Erlandia, that's for sure. Most of the parts are, again, in my gallery. Look for the appropriate folder.
*Vixyy - OK, back again.
Like everyone, I have recently been having ups and downs for whatever reasons. Those are nothing I won't work through. I do apologize for my slow reading of the prompters. I do have to get back on the ball just a little bit more.
On the plus side, I had lunch with an old writing friend today; Phil Geusz. He hasn't written anything in a time now, but that doesn't change the fact we're two peas in a pod. Having lunch with him always helps me decompress.
Now then - if you are not watching
seadragon you should be. He's good.
Cheers,
Vix
