Con plans for 2025
Lunar new year has hit (happy Year of the Snake!) and it's definitely not too early to be thinking about cons. Last year I managed to fit in 3 conventions (which is a lot for me, holy shit) and I might be hitting that number again.
I attended TFF for the first time last March and loved it. Great artist presence and very solid overall vibe. I haven’t made it to that part of the country a lot, so this was an overdue chance to put some faces to names. No specific plans to make a return this year, but I’m keeping it in mind.
FWA is just down the road (more or less) and I’ll be there again for sure this year. Maybe I’ll even be hosting a panel if the organizers like my idea…
It’s been a few years since I made it to Anthrocon, so it’s a strong contender. There’s folks who don’t make it to other cons who would be great to catch up with there, and the drive from GA to PA is actually nice in places.
Last fall I checked out Furry Takeover (FTO for the initiated), which is a small con in western NC that was made even smaller by the fact that it occurred more or less in the immediate aftermath of hurricane Helene. The greater region was devasted in very unexpected ways, but the con area itself was spared. It ended up being a really fun wifi-free weekend. FTO is right next door to the famously curvy stretch of US-129 called the “Tail of the Dragon” and it turns out to be a big draw for car furs. I’m not really a car guy except insofar as I have one and drive one and make sporadic efforts to learn more about its upkeep. All the same, I’ve been told I should put my 2009 FJ in the car show next year -- I have my doubts that she’s particularly special to anyone but myself, but maybe we’ll find out. I could easily be swayed to do this con again.
There’s several other trips I’d like to do outside of furry cons, so naturally they all have to kind of vie for priority in a pool of limited time and money. This is why I usually wince apologetically when I’m told I HAVE to go to [placeholder con]. For whichever ones I do attend, I’ll post a journal ahead of them.
So... What (if any) cons do you have planned this year?

Fursonacon is a possible yes for me but I won't know until later in the year whether or not I can go.
I already went to Further Confusion.
Largely staying local due to hopefully saving up for next year :3
I won't be at a booth, mostly just wandering the con. So the best bet is to look out for the guy wearing badges that say "Kalahari".
Megaplex
Does the panel have to do with naked animal people?
they're also so insanely far away for me.
Going to try Megaplex this year, went to FC recently as well.
I think my favorite one though is FWA
