**OPERATION DUNKIRK UPDATE**
Ladies and Gentlemen, as some of you may know across my other platforms, my Laptop's D Drive went unreadable on 12/08/2024. This was the primary storage for all my SFM Assets, Saves and Pictures. Operation Dunkirk was enacted immediately to attempt recovery of whatever files I could from the compromised drive.
Today on 03/02/2025, it has finally arrived at my new base after months of wait that should have only been weeks...
It's status is as follows:
Regrettably a vast chunk of what I had on SFM has been lost outright or can only be considered inoperable from files being damaged.
Only the Critical C Drive is inside the laptop itself, though the compromised D Drive used for main storage has also been returned. I have NO idea on how to place a drive back into this thing, let alone how I should take it apart to do so. All I've been told is that it's a 2.5 inch drive and that a PC/Gaming company known as "Cex" likely sells them. Hopefully they can place the drive inside to give me some decent storage space.
I have also been given an additional External Hard Drive with the Data that was recovered, however this requires a USB Port that I don't have spare so I'll need to find a way to get around that. That and the fact I no longer have the storage to even reinstall SFM for the time being, let alone start rebuilding the asset library I've lost
On the bright side; All the contents of my C Drive, INCLUDING MY GIMP PROJECTS, are safe and can be re-rendered. These will be uploaded here in due course as they are rendered and prepared to comply with FA's file size limit that can still be considered Rationed at best.
Certainly not a great way to end one year or start the next, though hopefully I'll be operational again soon; now with a Timeframe I can somewhat control.
Kind regards
D.Hooves
