Here is something I do to keep myself going. I keep a journal of all my accomplishments no matter how small: Words I've written, art I have uploaded and how many hits I have gotten on them. Small little things that add up and fill the pages. When I fill fifty. I get Pizza. It sure keeps me going!
You should also continue drawing, you are a great artist who does not depend on other artists to stand out and you have very good friends who will support you
That's just prestige. Its non-humane and is rather classist if you ask me. People should draw and create art because they enjoy it and want to express themselves, not to become popular or famous to make money. That should only be a by-product. That's what I believe anyway. You have every reason to be frustrated though, but don't let it bring you down. Keep drawing just to spite the algorithm and the prestige of our society. It can go burn itself to the ground.
That *is* the question, isn't it?
Why *do* you draw? Why did you start? Why did you continue after the first few times?
For me, I started for self-gratification (which is to say, I jumped straight into smut X'3) and then kept on because I saw that it made others happy. I rarely do art for myself anymore - it's almost all requests or gifts from folks I talk to. As long as they like it, and as long as I like that they like it, I have a reason to continue.
I was a fan of Balto. I drew fanarts and posted at one forum almost 18 years ago. Someday one person asked me to try to post on Deviantart.
Five years ago it stopped to be a hobby because of health. I can't work IRL anymore, at least not in this country.
So I can answer: only to survive. But I would finish it in a day because of current situation.
Then I think you should focus on the money. Spend some time researching how to make money from art (which is probably not freelancing for random commissioners) and see how to do it in a way that is pleasing to you.
For fun maybe and because it would be your art and no one elses.
Getting someone to make your character is cool but if you draw it yourself then its yours as well
Well I like your art ❤️ and in a more serious note, what do you get out of it? If you do it because you love it then who cares, social media is hard to manage and it's not everyones thing, doing art as a career can be especially hard and I can't offer much advice there, but I can say I appreciate your work.

I almost have no friends. You know this.
Now I'm trying to survive.

So we must ask again: what do *you* draw for?

But why we can't live in piece?
