News For Commissions Going Forward...

Commissions are currently closed.
Alright well, this Journal is gonna be kind of split into two segments the good news and the bad news (it's not like terrible news or anything... maybe)
We'll start with the (maybe?) bad news first:
Commissions are going to be closed... and probably for a long while.
This is because I will be taking an extended break from being a full-time artist. At the beginning of March, I will be starting a new part-time job. With this job, I will not have time to work on any new commissions or sketches. However, if you were still in the queue from LAST month, you will still receive your commission/sketch or even your comic if you have paid for one.
What's the reason for stepping down from being a full-time artist? Well, the main reason is that I just want a break from working commissions. I seem to open every month and maaaybe finish that month's queue like half a month late while also starting on the next month's batch. I keep falling behind. It's not even so much that I'm struggling financially either. I still have two people who have been waiting on their comics for over a year. I'm also still working on the Should I Get Sleepy project with Darkwitt which has been a nice break from the monotony of single-page commissions. I'm still trying to make the rest of the eeveelution stickers. I still want to get back to animation. And I want to get back to Whenever They Catch You. I'm tired of promising myself I will get back to it someday. Ohh after the next commission batch, I'll do it. Oh, maybe sometime this weekend I'll do it. And then I never do. When I have commissions, I feel like my priority has to be for my clients first. Maybe it's a guilt thing? I dunno. But, I'm just... tired. I'm tired of not being able to draw for MYSELF.
Guys... I wanna get back to that comic.
And not just that comic, but OTHER comics. I've been brimming with ideas for hot spicy hypnotic/coiling comics that could be even LEWDER than WTCY. I wanna transfer some of that spicy motivation into doing animation as well! I've been slightly dabbling with some animation stuff and I've been YEARNING for the time to practice more guilt-free and maybe even try to get something released for you guys that I'm proud of.
This wasn't an easy decision. But it's one I've been ruminating for the past year. And last Dec, I decided to finally just go for it. I was careful in finding something part-time so that I could still have time to draw.
Will I open commissions again? Absolutely! When? I have no idea...
I want to deeply apologize to anyone who was looking to get one from me. Just know that commissions are not closed indefinitely. I will open again someday.
So now that brings me to the good news then? Which I'm sure you've guessed by now...
Whenever They Catch You will be back this year!
Along with other things to include...
- More Eeveelution Stickers!
- Animation Tests
- More Comics
- more doodles and goofy drawings I do in my spare time that aren't just Patron access only.
A lot of this you might not even see until the summer, (due to the new job and finishing up prior owed comms) but believe me, I will be working diligently on all of it!
Thank you all again for the wonderful support you continue to give me.
I seriously feel more proud of the work I do here than in any other job I've done in the past 20 some odd years. You guys make this all worth it. I'm super excited about what the future (art-wise) holds and what ideas I'll be sharing with you guys.
