I had my MMR updated last year, and I think the rest of my extended family are covered as well. This is going to get bad.

An addendum: Looks like Rubella (German Measles) is showing up in Oklahoma. Get that MMR & Tdap, folks.

I was vaccinated when I was a kid. My Dad then had me hand out with other kids who had Measles after I was vaccinated and I never got sick, but I'm good and immune.

With Mr. Brainworm, our new presidents, and all of their anti-science pals, the CDC and other parts of our already beleaguered healthcare system are apparently going to be unable to keep up with little things like epidemics for a while, so I guess this stuff is now up to us to keep take the reins on.

A kid just died in Texas from the measles outbreak there, and I'll go ahead and predict that he won't be the last. This'll get worse before it gets better. The kids in Gaza just got their second round of polio vaccines. I hope our healthcare system can do that well.

I'll tell you a couple of little stories:

First, when my mom was a kid in the thirties, polio was going around and she caught it. This was before there was a vaccine. She was lucky enough to survive, but she had some muscle loss in parts of her arms and legs. she could walk, but she was weak. She developed post polio syndrome as she got older, and that took a toll on her too. She became prone to falls because of those things. In her last years she needed a wheelchair.

Next, In the summer of 1964, my family moved from Aurora Illinois to Berkeley California. I was five, and my sister was a year and a half younger. When we first got here, we stayed with some family friends in Orinda, over the hill from Berkeley, while we looked for a house. They had two kids close to our age. There were measles and chicken pox going around at the time. Our parents saw to it that we all got infected by both, which wasn't an uncommon practice at the time. Some thought it a good idea in those days to "Just get it over". After all, MOST kids didn't die... Vaccinations for measles became available the year before, but weren't yet common. We were miserable. I can still remember it. We were feverish, itchy, spotted messes. The chicken pox were the bigger sores.

I guess the point of this is that vaccines are great. They save all kinds of misery, serious complications, and death.

They're sure as hell better than the diseases they combat. Antivaxxers endanger everyone, including themselves. I'll bet everyone here knows this, but I've argued with a fair number of people on this site about this who believed a lot of ridiculous things about covid in particular. Believe in science, people!

I am grateful that Mom seek all vaccines for us until the nurses rejected us for being grown-ups and take space of other smaller kids.

-w-... I'm so angry that when asked about the first child death from Measles in 10 years... RFK Jr. said "Oh this just happens all the time, it's fine"... ... They're so fucking heartless... And the people who voted for the jerks seem to agree that children 'deserve to die'... ... ... I'm so sad...

And they just canceled a meeting to work on the flu vaccine for this year where they would decide which strains to protect against. They canceled the last meeting on vaccines, too.

And it's a sign of desperation, weakness, and a deep sickness of the soul that disconnects these people from the rest of humanity and the planet. It's a disconnection from the reality that we and everything on the planet are all one, and they're only succeeding in shutting themselves out. It's incredibly sad.

The CDC recently updated the guidelines for the pneumococcal vaccine. It used to be recommended after age 65, now it's after age 50. So if you're in that 50-65 age bracket, get your shot!

At least the CDC is still run by sane people.

All those anti-vaxxer noodleheads... All those claims of theirs and not a thing to back it up. I do wonder though, something else ramped up at the same time as vaccinations; LSD. That causes permanent chromosome damage -no exceptions! I want a study on if parental or grand parental LSD damage causes Autisim. If that ever happens we might have a weapon against antivaxxers!

That's ridiculous. You're sounding like Mr. Brainworm here. You've got all your facts wrong, and that's typical confusion of correlation and causation. There were also plenty of vaccines in use prior to the use of LSD by the public.

Neither vaccines nor acid cause autism.

My father almost died of measles as a kid. I was vaccinated as a matter of course, and it's just as well, as I recently had to go to the ER and later received a letter to inform me that I may have been exposed. Thanks for that, Doctor of Epidemiology Karen; I'm glad the system was smarter in my youth than you and your ilk are today.

I had a MMR injection a number of years ago, probably time for another.

It's already hit here in WA. King County, 2 yr old had it. Only the one so far, well, that was as of early this morning before I went to bed at 6 am. Could possibly be more now. All of this just angers me so, the parent in me just screaming internally about vaccs etc. /SIGH Some of these parents I wouldn't trust with a plastic potted plant to care for.

We had the standard list of vaccs as kids. Momma being a nurse knew what we needed, and aside from the small circular scar from the smallpox vaccine, to the best of my knowledge none of us suffered any side effects worthy of consideration.

Today? 'Trust' has been utterly destroyed between Govt./Rx and the People, so I wouldn't even know who to go to, much less trust, if I had kids (Or was seeking boosters for any of the 'Olde' vaccs).

This is the cruel side of what they did regarding COVID against the world, and then the unchecked flood of invaders swarming into America (And any other Country), w/o a shred of medical protocols being followed/administered.

What we never saw or suffered has landed on our various doorsteps, and the results are already well known, but now must be endured yet again.

None of this had to happen.

I for one am beyond furious. I will never forget, much less forgive any of those responsible for this.

My parents believed in vaccines, thank the gods. Had all my shots. I got chicken pox as a kid, so I have had my shingles shots, too. I wonder why Big Pharma isn't up in arms about this. Republican Fascist Klansman Jr. is costing them a lot of money.
