Telegram bots?!

I’m suddenly getting bots sending me messages on my telegram, why is this and how can I prevent it?!
Unfortunately you cannot prevent it in a way that matters. Most you can do is report spam and/or block them. If they're adding you to chats, you can turn that off allowing people to do that in the settings.

They've been like that for a long, long while. The only good news I can offer is that they seem to come and go in waves. :/
