This is the first time I've changed anything for quite a long time?

The name change was a while ago, but it's a recent FA update that started showing the display name instead of the username for things. Like a couple weeks ago. So I understand why it feels recent and confusing.

That desire to control others out of a fear of change is very much a warning sign for yourself that you need to look into professional resources regarding mental health. Because that's not healthy or respectful.

Circe name changed a while back, however FA only recently allowed beta testing of the display name to change. In particular this is the *brand* name that's changing, off of Zeptophidia (if I'm understanding correctly)

My name, and my character's name is Circe. Pankallisti is like, my brand for lack of a better term.

I changed my name to Circe last year, from Zepto. But still had 'Zepto' in my brand, which got me deadnamed a lot x3x
It's my fault, I should've changed it sooner.

Saw some art from someone named "pankallisti" on e621 and thought to myself "Wow, this really looks like <former name starting with a z>'s art, what else has this person done?" and opened up the artist page to see a rather familiar scene (as it is a page I check frequently) and then went hunting down an explanation on why the name change and wound up here after a few other links (I totally forgot about itaku as a site but it was the first link on a Google search of the new name so...).

So thanks for the explanation on it and I apologize in advance for how long it will take me to internalize your new name.

(You, ah, still have the name in your username and in the html for your user page. Is there any way to change that? I'm not sure how the site would even allow for people to change their user page links.)

I can't change the username on this site, but now with the display names I can at least have a big CIRCE next to it :D

I knew about the Circe thing but didn't realize you had an issue with the z-name for your, er, brand name. My bad xD Admittedly I also haven't followed you here closely enough, so I also was never sure how much of your character was, well, you, hehe. (I usually see your stuff on e6, as I only recently started using this site normally after they added the tag filer)

Lowkey now I kinda wanna steal the old name and give it to an OC. xD (Look at me, collecting names like some kind of fae thing xp)

Makes sense, was kind of hard to mention the brand before without it feeling like deadnaming. it's a shame there's no way to easily change an FA username.

It felt pointless to change it because here on FA I'd always be stuck with the deadname displayed.
but now that that's no longer a problem, I could finally go through with it 'n change it everywhere! :D
