Getting Eaten Without Dying (on vore)

not really into vore but i'm fascinated by the world depicted in a lot of vore art... the idea that eating another sentient being (even fatally, in many cases) can be a relatively normal sexual/loving activity suggests a fundamentally different take on mortality than you generally see IRL. becoming part of another person's tummy fat or turning into cum or whatever isn't Death; although it has all the characteristics of Death, it's simply a change of state (like how when ice melts, it doesn't stop existing, it just turns into water). such an interesting perspective. if anyone who sees this is into vore (especially fatal vore) i'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
for me ive traced my interest in vore to a childhood fear of being swallowed. theres a shel silverstein song about being trapped and eaten by a boa that was played in my school as a kid and i remember being so horrified by it, but it was like obsessive fear..extremely strong. this repeat when i saw cartoons and other stuff depicting swallowing and being eaten in geneeral. the snake swallowing idea tho was def the most potent, and it didn't feel the same as being scared of regular getting killed. fast forward development and snake-like vore is my favorite still
it being scary is a big aspect to why i like it, n tht where the 'fatal' aspect begin to seem sexy too
that kind of obsessive fear is a huge working cog in a lot of fetishes tht formed, i think this is prolly the case for a lot of people.. if i think about it outside of sexuality, its a safe way to confront fears and darknesses and bad things that happened and take control of it. feel like theres a natural violence human have tht only feels safe to cope with in this kind of situations & art. kinda like video games for many. n i think its just really fun to see how u can stretch and pull concepts in sexuality cuz sexual feels really isnt something from the realm of sense even when it doesnt involve fetishes that arent possible irl. but i only speak for myself, i like the fantastical aspect of scenarios/rp, n tht can include experiencing death and violation.
but besides the fear part it really is plain sexy to be transformed, melted or crushed and compressed and maybe become a part of something bigger. like when u look up at the sky and its so beautiful but also so scary cuz it feels like itll swallow u! being a source of nutrition for someone is also really appealing. i love to think abt how eating and food is something tht connect everyone on earth together, everyone has in common tht they gotta eat, so maybe thats part of it too?
also this whole time im talking about being prey, but im equally interested in the 'pred' side of vore. when i find something i like, there can be a type of feeling i wanna eat it and swallow and that probably why i enjoy it. i feel like more than fear the sensory aspect is huge, so the compression and wet but also those impossible senses like being turned into slime/gas/w.e ..
super interesting to hear all of this. i can definitely understand obsessive fear being transmuted into fetishism! as a kid i used to have really horrible constant intrusive thoughts about something (i'm not gonna disclose what) that i am hugely into now.
the sensory component also makes a lot of sense. love the feeling of being crushed and i can so see how things like that would be a major draw to vore
