jesus christ what a whirlwind of a weekend. anyway I played DnD for the second time on saturday just so it doesn't seem like I was wrapped up in this 24/7
I got an email an hour ago telling me that they had reviewed their decision and decided to unsuspend my account. Don't get me wrong I'm definitely grateful but like...only NOW you decide to review your decision bc you realized it makes your mod team look bad?
That being said, thank you everyone who decided to speak up on my behalf ๐ I was ready to just roll over and accept it because it was the same bs tumblr hit me with and I wasn't expecting to get anywhere with the mod team after they unceremoniously disregarded me. It was heartwarming seeing people who didn't even know about me agree I was being unfairly punished.
Once again, my sincerest gratitude for all of you who decided to bat for me ๐๐ I really do appreciate it.
on that note, my werewolf stuff is probably gonna be limited to furaffinity/twitter in the meantime while I decide if I want to make a neocities page or not. I can't say I feel comfortable posting it on bsky anymore for the time being.

Super happy to hear you're back there but the caution is understandable. Definitely wouldn't hurt to pause posting until you can figure out a plan for the site. Regardless i'm happy you're good <3
I was considering itaku but some people were saying the community is a little dead :(( has that been the case for you?? Other than that, I'm looking into neocities as well.
People need to start asking "at what point did you take a fantasy drawing of a fantasy feral and go 'I need to diddle my dog right now'"
They need to be cracking down on ACTUAL zoophiles instead of banning anything that could look like it, which isn't taking care of the 'promoting bestiality' problem at all and was a careless slap on sticker for 'I don't want to see this'.
They love their tags and blacklist but don't seem to know how to use them...
It's funny bc someone else on bsky mentioned they had a list compiling actual zoophiles and bsky deleted it for targeting a group of people like ?????
Neocities is great. I need to get off my butt and make one but it's been soooo long since I've dabbled in CSS.
For example, my PayPal is pristine over more than two decades. If somebody contested a charge, I'd refund them to avoid being dinged, and then take them to court for fraud. Much better than having PayPal shut down and more lucrative too.
Their guidelines/TOS made zero mention of content featuring animal-like characters being prohibited so it's weird to ban me for 'promoting bestiality' when 1. I never told people to go fuck animals irl and 2. People were actively on the fence as to whether the werewolf pic in question could be considered feral or anthro. So I feel like when I reached out to appeal they could've been like 'it's kind of ambiguous and we'd rather you delete it because it might be promoting prohibted content' I would've been more than happy to do so. But they rejected my appeal and didn't clarify what activity of mine was supposedly promoting it. Even in terms of legality, 'promoting' bestiality isn't illegal. Either committing the act or having the intention to commit it by sourcing an animal for that purpose is what is against the law.
Like if I consistently drew animals that could be identified down to the species/breed - I'd be like okay sure yeah I can see how that promotes it. That's why I don't do it. Banning me over an ambiguous piece of work with a vague reason that could very easily nail an anthro artist and denying my appeal without pointing out the exact reason why was setting a bad precedent.
BSKY wouldn't have made it a single foot off the ground without the mass exodus of furries that moved there first, so it seems like maybe they were reminded of that. And hopefully they continue TO remember that.
If they WANT to crack down on things they believe belong to something that they don't want on the platform, they need to have it clearly in their guidelines, and communicate openly with their userbase about it when it does become an issue. Catering to puritanical censoring standards is exactly like you say - it doesn't actually have and end goal beyond scrubbing the internet clean of what they deem "icky." And like... You probably don't need me to point this out, but a majority of the time it's just a way for them to target queer people and media while turning a blind eye to things that are ACTUALLY harming the folks they want to "protect." (Also following the censorship preferences of one certain group is a bias and hurts everyone as the standards are set FOR them).
In the end it's really like... If it doesn't hurt anyone (werewolf fuckery is the like...uniting kink between us all LMFAO) or depict like minors and stuff then just leave people alone. People are so far up on their high horse that they forget they can just use the block button.
Also idk where else to say this but the art that sparked this was PEAK btw, and was the reason I found you in the first place so... 10/10, no notes on it.
Idk why it's so difficult for some people to just let things be! If someone irritates me, I just block em' and move along with my day. I don't try to go out of my way to ensure they lose a stream of income or whatever. They want to prove how morally superior they are that they don't draw icky ferals; meanwhile they're posting pokemon porn or drawing animal genitalia on anthros. Like bro if I drew an ambiguous werewolf (that said in the caption WEREWOLF) and got banned for 'promoting bestiality' - do you really think pokemon porn or anthro porn is safe? Hell even catboy/catgirls wouldn't be safe because they're animal adjacent. They don't see that because they're too focused that I'm getting punished for drawing something that is the mildest thing someone could've gotten banned over. Save the harsh punishment for people who repeatedly cause problems with their art or trying to intentionally be problematic to rile people up, I'm just trying to have fun with my characters here!!!

It's also just sad to see that people are becoming more worried about indulging in their own OCs and universes and such through this - I know that I'm nervous myself. I don't post them on here much (since I forget to LOL, post them plenty on bsky though... I'll need to change that) but my main OC that I draw lately is a massive kholo (gnoll), for a Pathfinder game I'm in. And his ancestry type has a racial feat where he swaps between bipedal and quadrupedal movement. So while he's more or less got werewolf anatomy, I do worry about how he's going to be seen in certain images, which has made it more stressful to draw smut of him and his mate (a dwarven woman LMAO). (Shamelessly puts my OCs here, though you do not have to look if you don't want<3 SFW and NSFW both)
It really, REAAAALLY feels like these people who lash out are just (mix and match any of these):
1. Mad that other people are having fun without catering specifically to them
2. Jealous that people's OCs get to be in top-tier art
3. Are trying to virtue signal so that they can feel "above" someone else, not realizing it just makes them look like dweebs LMAO
4. Want to hurt other people/artists so bad that they're willing to cut off their nose just to spite their face. You almost have to feel bad for them. Almost.
Also not to be all Karen but Bluesky isn't at a point where they can pull stunts like that and not potentially kill their userbase - Bluesky quite literally got off the ground because of the fandom flocking to it en masse in the wake of Twitter becoming the alt-right troll farm it is now.

And right lol. I looked at my follower list to find more people to follow to make my Twitter feed more active and the first person who's profile i looked at was a Trump suppprter...like dude I'm Mexican and queer you don't get to enjoy my work if you're supporting someone who's actively hostile toward my identity. Immediately blocked them.
I just feel bad for all the smaller artists who got banned for similar reasons :/ I hope this forces the mod team to learn a bit of nuance
