Unfortunately, as someone who's also been bouncing around 3D artists attempting to nab things, most (especially the good ones that also rig) are basically forever booked. Though, I could see Morgan 'getting through' depending, given she is just super pretty and would get a lot of notoriety I'm sure >//>; but even still it's a bit difficult!

I think if you're ok with a more 'cartoony' look, I've gotten a fair few models from  magnaomega , they do some really great work and do the entire process themselves (including rigging), and I've gotten nothing but praise from people I throw the models at to do things ; v ; so he'd be my first choice! (though he's in the middle of a 'proper project/job' right now/when last I contacted him, so might be a bit difficult atm, but if you ever see him posting a journal or image for work, he's very responsive and open to do fun characters!)

He's the only one I've really been both satisfied with and you'd have a shot at requesting.  JohnWulffe is also pretty good if you want something 'more involved' like possible physics feathers and such, but not sure about his ability to do Avians.

 ruaidri has also been doing model stuff, but I don't really know if and when he'd ever open, but he's done good birds so figured I'd bring him up.

Beyond that, it's just 'twitter accounts that seem to always be full and you'll never see not be', at least from my experience. So uhh, I wish you luck ; v ; b

I've personally been waiting for LeoDaModeler to open up their queue. But as dragonmaster said, it's been a very long wait or they are very choosey.
