I do not have the entire story and sequence of events planned out and set in stone, but I want to have somewhere to post a general overview of what the story would have been without going into many minute details.
Taiga, once the prince of Black Maw (In this context "Prince" just mean a ruler who hasn't had the experience of being a full fledged King) finds himself without a kingdom, having suffered an attack on his people, with him being the only one who escaped. While his teleportation has its limits, he usually keeps this ability hidden to use as a trump card. Once escaped, he tried to seek help, but found no one really capable of helping him, and few even knew of Black Maw.
In a rut and needing time to really figure out what to do, he ends up in a village named Potts, washing dishes. One day he would glance at a travelling Galbaldian having issue trying to get an order out, with an odd manner of speaking. While they do see each other, the patron leaves. After work, outside the town, Taiga would train using his abilities. He would then spot the Gabaldian from earlier. They would talk, the other referring to herself as Rahtinah. Much to Rah's pleasure, Taiga is able to understand her speech. They speak, snark a bit, and get to know each other more, although Taiga doesn't reveal his royalty.
After spending some time together, they reach Potts, spotting 2 Yondards that Taiga recognized as Black Maw knights, as well as something he knows as a Golem, one of the creatures that helped overthrow his kingdom. Taiga elects to take another route, but Rahtinah is impatient, wanting to just get it over with. The knights find Rahtinah suspicious and reveals to her that he's royalty that they are trying to apprehend. Taiga decides to come out, realizing that the knights seems to be working with the one who took over Black Maw. Angered, he demands answers, but the knights command the golem to capture Taiga. Rahtinah, however, is not relevant. The two try to fight it off, but to no avail due to its rocky armor. Eventually, Rah is captured, and her arms crushed and ripped. Before the golem could fully finish the job, Taiga teleports, grabbing Rahtinah and taking her to a safe place... at least, safe for a few moments.
Rah's condition did not look good, quickly fading away. He sat his jacket over her and effectively decided to go out fighting, seeing yet another Yondard he couldn't protect. He quickly gets back to the Golem and fights it off, doing little more than slow his approach, until someone jumped on top of the Golem... Rahtinah. With the last of her strength, she would absorb some of the mass of the Golem into herself, granting herself a new, larger set of arms, and weakening the Golem. It was also this absorbtion that allowed Rah to get that bit of energy by absorbing his coat (although it remained whole).
With the Golem weakened, Taiga and Rahtinah join forces once more, destroying the Golem with Taiga's crystalized energy and Rah's fists. The Black Maw guards run off, but Taiga doeesn't take up the chase seeing Rahtinah in pain and tired.
While Taiga would take Rahtinah to recoup, the knights find a hiding spot, but are quickly accosted by another Yondard... standing much taller then them, it kills and devours one of the knights.
