inactivity, No new artworks for the foreseeable future...
Just a simple heads-up there will not be any new artworks coming for the foreseeable future as i cannot afford to commission anyone anymore.
This is besides:
- The various old artworks from DA i still need to transfer to here (still roughly ~90 or so old artworks? LMAO it's a multi-year backlog, what did i expect...),
- Two or so recent commissions that have already been finished, but i haven't found the time to upload here yet either,
- One ongoing commission started over half a year ago that may or may not ever be finished (no, not fidgets... that scam is already scrapped).
this means that after a few weeks, likely around May or so this account will fall dead silent pretty much.
at that point i will not be uploading anything anymore as far as i'm concerned.

Why?
Well if you're interested continue reading i suppose:
Short TLDR; lack of Money (and skill), as is usually the case for most people. :3
Long story:
Well, i have a rotten through roof on my home which needs replacing.
Did the rear half of this old house its roof 3 years ago, part of which needs to be redone now with insulation too.
The front half must now also be renovated unless i want to risk even more damage and much higher repair costs still.
my home isn't very big, but neither is my wallet, both are relatively small really haha.
While i applied patchwork fixes where and when i could since i bought this house 2019, as is one can still stick a finger straight through various of the old wooden planks in several places due to water damages.
The streetside gutter and drain are broken causing problems and all the roofing tiles on top of aforementioned planks are additionally eroded, cracking and disintegrating due to old age all the same.
this means it's end of life for all of it.
These things had a very good run though as for example these tiles have protected my home since at least the 1970's, more likely the 1950's as the houses next to mine actually have the newer style concrete looking tiles from the 70's when they renovated many homes around here, while mine are still the much older, fired clay with ceramic glazed top surface, kind from before that haha.
The woodwork is likely even older, i know the roof its main beams are likely to still be original from 1895 and the planks may remain from back then as well...
anyhow, after (at least) 50~70 years of service or so this all really needs to go and be replaced (except the main beams).
while we're at it add modern insulation too so my yearly heating/cooling costs should drop as well while my creature comfort increases.
Besides splitting up the job into front and back I've also been delaying this big repair job for several years already to save up money and postpone the inevitable...
it's finally time it really must go though, no way around it.
this inactivity message would have come earlier and i would have let this all be done last year if it wasn't for a serious medical emergency of yours truly around previous Christmas - new years period (2023-2024) that nearly cost me my life and took me a little over a year to recover from (surprise? some of you know though).
anyhow as i prefer health before home, i was kinda busy with ehm... life?
lol... next hospital checkup is coming this Friday even, though all is looking great.
ah well, i really am doing fine these days and i got to do this renovation now, no more delays.
the reason for no more art is that i have saved up about 25% of the total quoted costs, but that still leaves me roughly €15.000,- in debt for money i don't have.
the final amount depending on if they find more or worse problems still during deconstruction/demolition causing delays which i hope they do not.
but wait! there's even more bad news.
the worst part...
There's an aging extension behind my house which holds my... let's generously call it a shower/toilet room (can't call it a proper bathroom at this point really) and a utility room with my dishwasher, tumbledryer and washing machine (all 2nd hand except dryer) .
this extension is also rotted through in several places along it's entire length and poorly insulated, has roof damage and is as well in need of replacing...
for now i'm just fixing that up with in places literal duct-tape, aluminium tape, construction foam, scrap wood and other bits and bobs that i can find.
it'll hold and it'll have to work, no major worries there yet though it'll have to hold for a few more years :') .
which means that after the roof renovation is paid off in the coming 5 or so years, that extension is probably the first next big thing that immediately must go and i just know that's another €30.000,- or so that i will not have.
at least that part of this house is much easier to keep together with patchwork myself then the actual roof, so i'll manage.
hence, unless i win the local lottery (which i imho kind of already did by surviving i suppose) i won't be buying all that many luxury things, less then i did at least, especially things like artworks as i'll be paying off debt.
so when my activity dies here, now you know why.
ps, i'll still talk and add favourites, just no more uploads nor major activity...
