commission considerations
keep thinking i should open up for commissions cuz i do need the funds but MAN am i enjoying being able to draw things -i- want to draw for a change.
...and also my prices are so low that i'm really cheating myself with them... like that unimon pic took me around 10 hours, and i'd only charge like 35 bucks for it??? that's not even close to my country's already stupidly low minimum wage!
but who would be willing to pay 100 bucks for something like that, from such an unknown and slow artist as me? idk... i want to keep my prices low so anyone can get something from me, but what's the point of having low prices if i can never open because it just straight up isn't worth the amount of time and effort i put in? especially when i'm old enough that i actually get hand pain/damage from trying to work at a decent pace for people...
also having some issues with paypal. like actual technical issues, on TOP of hating them as a company and all the fees. i want to switch to stripe maybe cuz it's the oldest alternative i know of, but i don't know anybody who uses it that i trust enough to advise me on it, and i also have some bank stuff i need to switch first for other reasons as well...

It's a catch-22 on an artist having prices that reflect the amount of time they put into a piece but still be able to get regular interest in commissions, especially the past couple years when everything has gone up in cost. I could also tease that you're still a faster artist than some artists I know and have used. Certainly if you decide to do mermay pictures again for next month I'd be up for one. Or just might have to commission you for one regardless at a later date.

OP
but would you still be interested if i charged 60$ instead of 20$? the only compromise i can think of is charging more for customs but doing more ych style stuff for my previously normal prices. getting the form layed out is where most of the time/work is, not the rendering, so if i'm just doing the same pose i could afford to keep it cheaper.

YCH poses or settings were one of the things I was considering suggesting since those should be easier and faster to do. I'd say $60 is a going rate for many artists and I'd still be interested even if it wouldn't be as spur of the moment.
