Hello-ha
After 15 years, my PS2 has made that iconic sound for the last time.
God speed you magnificent black brick of dreams...
You will be missed.

I had to change the battery in mine for the first time recently, the clock stopped and it was acting up.
I wonder how long the average PS2 survived.
Good times of RE Code Veronica X and other such masterpieces.
Not a professional tech though, just a hobby
That said, if it’s the main chip that’s failed, I wouldn’t even try—don’t have a heater plate or proper stencils for reballing.
But before attempting anything intrusive, it’s always better to gather all the data and symptoms first. Like, which exact console model is it (SCPH-xxxxx)? Did you use the same AV cable when testing another console? What exactly do you see on screen—just a blue screen with no signal? If it’s a slim version, did you test with the same power adapter? And when was the last time you changed the CMOS battery (CR2032, if I remember right)?
It's definitely something with the console, I've tried different cables and using the same cables on another PS2 and it works for that one.
I don't think I've ever changed the CMOS battery. I don't know what is :')
To change the component video settings blind:
Start the console with no disc inserted.
Wait 10 seconds to get to the main menu.
Press ↓, ╳
Wait 3 seconds to make sure you're in the configuration menu.
Press ↓, ↓, ↓, ╳
Press →, ╳
This will alternate between YPbPr and RGB.
