An affinity for the utility or inconvenience caused by unique bodies. Taking pleasure in the use of unique traits/anatomy or the accidental damage and/or inconvenience cause by said traits/anatomy.
A fun new word I found that perfectly describes a large part of what I like about transformation and much of furry in general. But especially transformation. Having to adapt to a new foreign body that might make some things easier or harder. An anthro bird with arm wings without hands. Hooves. Grabby bird feet that can hold stuff. A fur coat that makes the cold in winter not a problem. Antlers that get in the way through doors. All that fun stuff.
I usually find the problems caused and how I might solve them more interesting than the potential benefits. Like if I suddenly became an anthro deer, there would be so much I'd have to figure out. A new diet. Walking on hooves. Using my phone and computer with hand hooves. (We'll just ignore the problem of being snatched up by the government for testing. That one is no fun to me.)
This also plays into me enjoying slooooow transformations that occur over time. One day, you have bird feet. Walking becomes different but you have time to adjust before new things happen. A few weeks later, your arms are partially shifted into wings with the large feathers getting in the way. A beak partially forms after a while, but not fully, so it's an awkward thing to work around. And so on until the changes are complete after days, months, or years.
One of the images that always pops into my head with this word is using a keyboard. This is something I've commissioned more than once. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/9734256/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/25987210/

And I 100% get you with this, is is honestly one of the big reasons I initially went with a bat with a character, as dealing with having wing arms and no real hands was something I wanted to explore a lot (and honestly I still do)
Even as i moved faulty to having antro deer hoofs as hands, I still wanted to emphasise how clunky and "different" they would be to use compared to having normal hands. (Trying to type is a really good example, and I spent a bit of type trying to think of imput devices you could use if all you had where solid hoofs).
If I did ever move to paws for faulty which I am not planing would definitely want them to be of the big puffy and unintuitive variety, much closer to there irl counterpart then hands.
Heck, even when faulty is made out of rubber or goo, I do end up day dreaming a lot about slice of life stuff with him and how having a gooy sticky body would effect his day to day life.
Alos at least for me, if you don't mind me saying.
It even sort of expands into more kink stuff, mainly expressed in ponyplay ... the idea of having solid hoof hands somewhat "forced upon you" as well as hard to balance on hoof feet honestly really is such a fun idea to explore.
Will have to keep that word in mind in the future and tag stuff appropriately with it, and honestly might refer back to your post when explaining this to other people this general idea.
Thanks for bringing it up :D
And yeah, i tend to use my beak lots to type letters, just takes a while
