I got stuck in a flash flooded spot and had to get pulled out by a good simaritan...I'm concerned my car may not start again. I've been told 2 conflictng things. The guy who pulle dm eout told me to wait for it to dry and it may be fine, another told me I'm totaled...

Hm. Depending on how deep it was in will say if it survives or not. Modern cars have a ton of computers and electronics in them and if the water got to them the car will be a write off.

Whatever you do, do NOT try to start your car for now. I'd recommend having all fluids purged and replaced, and getting a mechanic to look it over first, at the very least. Also try to clean the carpets and upholstery immediately once it's dry, or you'll end up with mold issues. Good luck, and very sorry to hear about this! :(

What make and model was it? How badly submerged was it? Was it at wheel level or could it have gotten to the grill or through any air intake? I would recommend purging any fluids (especially gasoline) from it just to be safe.

What ever you do, do NOT try to start the car before seeing if there is water on top of the pistons. As that will crack the block and your totaled. Next things to check will be the oil, see if any water got in it
