What is Happening with Art and Artists?
It seems a lot of artists that I really like are just... Disappearing. Some of them that I have commissioned art from or even have active commissions I'm waiting on completing, and others that I follow and just love their art... They just have gone unresponsive for so many months and some even years.
And regarding the artists I've commissioned, these aren't like new, unknown artists who have very little art or business to their names. These are like, established artists and fandom veterans who have been around and have hundreds of art and clients under their belt, and many that I have commissioned previously and have had fantastic experiences with, and suddenly... Poof...
I'm really worried, y'all. While it sucks having stuff that you paid for up in the air, I'm more worried about the artists themselves. I hope they're okay.

One of them was Lyme and I sent them a message and got a response, so I'm happy to say at the least that they're still around.
I've considered quitting multiple times.
I hate that artists are treated like that and have even been broken down to the point where they expect it to be the norm...
Also I hope you never quit art although I could understand if you did. Artists deserve to have conversations that can blossom friendships, and I hope that there are people that have been able to bring that sort of conversation to you and you're not constantly hounded by people that think you should just provide art and nothing else, puppy.
Like, I get it, artists are human too, we all want to talk/have fun and otherwise socialize, but if your going to spend most of the time commenting/liking others content, consider making separate accounts, if only to make it easier for people to find what they followed you for in the first place, you know, your art?
You know what solves that? Using gallery sites. Like Furaffinity. Where there's a gallery. Of art. To look at.
And don't give me any whining about journals - you can both ignore them and they aren't an intrusion on the art gallery.
But many people do treat artists like machines or businesses, not people, and prefer it that way. Case in point, a friend of mine got art a few days ago and he only wants artists to be business-like. Directly quoting from m him: "I despise talking to artists [in response to me saying sometimes I feel like I bother artists because I poke them too much] because of that. The recent one i commissioned seems to have alot of experience with it and didnt cause any awkwardness though. She talked like a teller at a bank or something and didnt give the illusion that we'll be friends, and i like it that way. she said she liked my fursona and thats all i really want to hear from artists because i get confused if they talk too much or act too friendly"
That shouldn't be the way you want artists to interact with their commissioners. It makes things sterile and turns something that should be fun and exciting for both parties into another soulless business transaction.
