Hey there cuties!
Welcome back to Fur Affinity in its fully functional state! Probably wondering who I am and why you’re seeing a notice from me. I'm Rednef, the OTHER(better) mascot for Fur Affinity! (If you want a refresher on why we were offline and in file read only please see the previous site announcement here.
Seems I've been a little forgotten over the years and figured I'd take this downtime to make an appearance and reintroduce myself!
I was created originally as an April Fools joke back in 2007, however the community seemed to like me enough to keep me around! Fender and I are siblings. He's had the limelight for long enough though so it's time for me to elbow my way in and step up in being more active on Fur Affinity!
While Fender will host site announcements majority of the time, I aim to host our community events and spotlights.
What are community banners? Well that’s where artists submit banner ideas through the year and if chosen they will be featured as the site default banner for a minimum of a week - sometimes longer if it fits a season or holiday. There is no set amount to how many that we will choose! We may pick 3, or 12, or even 42! Please use the tag FABanner2025 in your tags for us to easily locate submissions! We ask that at least one of the mascots are featured or both of us! All banners must meet General Rating guidelines to be considered. Banner sizes are fixed at 1850x300.
We are really excited to be bringing this feature back and to help promote other artists within our community!
We ALSO want to announce that we are partnering/part of the affiliate program with Huion!! We have our very own code link that if you purchase from will send a percentage of the sale to Fur Affinity! (Percentage is based off what items you choose) Here is our link!
With this news we are giving away a 22in KAMVAS Plus from Huion, who provided the tablet for this community giveaway!
To enter the giveaway we just need you to comment below with a little something about yourself! What made you join the community? We will leave the giveaway open until May 16th, 10pm EDT. The winner will be picked with a random number generator and announced on the next day! We unfortunately do have to limit the give away to US residents at this time given the current tariffs in place. We hope to be able to do another giveaway in the future that can be open to all users!
Advertisers with campaigns active during the outage will have two weeks added to their expiration date!
Thank you all for your continued support and we hope you are as excited as we are to hop into more community events this year!
Remember to be excellent to each other in the comments and welcome back to Fur Affinity!

It doesn't even matter
I'M STILL JUST A RAT IN A CAGE
im glad u better
I have buried 458 humans in my backyard. Also I do vore.
Anyways, great to see y'all are still alive and kicking.
upd: A little about me: I'm Marie, I'm 28, I came to FA about four years ago out of curiosity, fell in love with this community and stayed. I live in Belarus, work as a freelance artist, love anime and pixel games 😁
I have Huion Kamvas 13, but would be happy to get something more cool 💓
Let's see... I probably joined the Fandom because of pokemon, honestly. A lot of my interest in sapient animals definitely stems from pocket monsters.
Welcome back. Glad things seem to be (mostly) sorted! :)
My notifs are going to go crazy with uploads today
In regards to the giveaway, I joined the fandom because I liked making cartoon characters and found a place that a lot of people do that. Then I saw other more... interesting things in the fandom and began connecting with people through them, mhmm.
huge thanks to everyone working on resolving this :D
Big ol thanks to the team for all their hard work getting everything back up and running! ( ^w^)-b
And a big ol hells yeah to the return of community banners! :D
Thank you. *Hugs*
edit: damit
I'm down for trying the giveaway out. I'm idk, me xD I joined because of Tirrell/Cerberus animations.
And I'm assuming that is the new banner for the site just curious to ask?
Rednef is back, the world is healing!
Also I like art.
We're keeping an eye on things, though!
I'm so glad that we're back in business! Thank you for all your work!
I joined the community after discovering(thank you golden wolf and dark natasha!) there was a place for adults that had animal "counterparts". A place with animal personas and awesome art? Sign me up!
SHE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!
And hi. ^^
Wellcome back, Rednef :3
Also, thank you all so much for your work with the site. <3
Aww dang it!!
WE'RE BACK FLUFFLEBUTTS
WELL, i originally joined the community in like 2011 when i was trying to find tutorials on how to make a werewolf mask xD
A friend of mine got me into the art 👉👈
I remember joining mainly because there were a lot of artists leaving Deviantart and coming here, so naturally I had to follow behind to continue to watch them.
Haven't looked back since
As for what made me join the community? I originally was a teen back in the day and found a yahoo group for furry teens back in the early 2000s. I joined their vboards or whatever it was running forums not long after they decided to move to tat. Made a bunch of friends. Only have one of them who I still am in contact with to this very day. Everyone else fell off the face of the earth. One of the admins introduced the budding artists on the forum to FA back in 2006 when I was 18 at the time. And I joined in august of 06 on FA and made a fair amount of friends and the push of it helped me develop as an artist and get to know a lot of people. I joined for the connection and friendship to enjoy time with people who shared my interests.
Honestly I joined a long time ago because my friends were here. Nowadays it feels like a piece of the old internet, especially older forums and art sites. I've found myself coming back here more often for a change of pace from the high pressures other sites place.
(Thanks for all the hard work btw)
As for the contest entry, I'm not really sure what made me join the fandom, I don't really remember. But it's been responsible for me getting into IT, it's how I connected with most my current friends, and overall has been a strong net positive on my life- so I'm glad I did, lol.
I joined to look at more furry art lmao
I am Zeno Voidrider, resident Void dragon and battery hoarder / devourerer.
I joined the community to look for like minded fantasy folk who happened to not be human and also look for art inspirations.
Looking forward to the big flood of backlog submissions.
~Zenobox
Anyways happy we're back and I can post my art again!
and i joined the furry community when i stumbled onto some digimon fan fiction years ago. slowly realized there was a whole community of people online who were absolute weirdos like me lol
Good luck to everyone who enters the raffle !
I uploaded everything and updated my drawings!
In regards to the giveaway questions,
My name is Theo! I'm 24 years old and an openly gay furry artist. :3 My family is from Adelaide, South Australia, but currently I live in the US with my husband and our cat.
I joined Fur Affinity because there are so little places left for artists online these days, and the way the site functions and how the community acts as a whole drew me in. I have been a furry since around 2014ish, with the release of the first Five Nights at Freddy's game.
I consider myself to be pretty friendly! I encourage anyone to reach out and say hi if they'd like.
Thank you for the opportunity and congratulations to the staff for getting us through this.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go stimulate the economy by buying a YCH! <3
I first joined FurAffinity because of all the creative and talented artists, who I have learned so much from over the years. I have been in the community for ~15 years now! Time flies ^^
Joined FA a long time ago, mainly because I wanted to comment on some friends and acquaintances artwork. Had been a furry for a long time (ConFURence 4 or 5), just a quiet one. The furry art comes slowly though, drat this lack of time...
I joined the site as a convenient way to meet new artists/find new art, and that certainly hasn’t changed!
Community Banners sound fun--can't wait to see what happens!
As for why I'm even here? I dunno, this was just a good place for me to find artists I like who draw big booba, I guess!
i made one, so so long ago, with a graphire. how time passes. I should go revisit and remaster it for shits and giggles, draw it again 20 years later.
Most of all, i am very happy to see FA back in it's working state :---; I missed it so much!
Respect to all of the staff, y'all great people and i'm very thankful to ya!
I joined FA way back in 2006 on my first account, and have been here almost daily ever since. I won't be leaving until the site goes down for real, which I hope never happens!
One awakening later and I became a furry artist as well.
^.=.^
I got into the community back in 2012-ish; I've always been a fan of anthropomorphic characters and thought a community all about them to be Very Neat. As an artist, this has been one of the few platforms that I truly feel comfortable posting to. Super excited about the partnership and giveaway, thank you so much!
I'm just a humble wallaby that likes to write, chat, go to cons, and make friends. I'm an easy guy lol
Little dark; I had been on the fringe of the Fandom, (( the artwork and the suits but didn't have either)), I ended up in a dark place due to family, job, and lift in general. Almost ended everything but didn't last minute.
Decided I needed to get some kind of change in my life. Joined FA and made a couple friends quickly and been here ever since. And it has been a rather fun time.
Well I needed money and figured 'how hard can it be to learn how to draw stuff and get paid for it?' Luckily there was no image gen AI back then or that'd never have been doable.
Glad to see community banners again!
Welcome back FA!
I know it's a long shot but I'll still play the "game": I have been a furry for as long as I can remember, in some form or another. Really kicked off in 4th grade though when I met a girl who was really big on anthros and she actually introduced me to the concept of therianism as well as just the furry subculture. Ever since then, I have fallen fully in, including making my own (partial) fursuit- all I need to do now is get with some friends and go to a con, lmao! X3 Meeting people in this subculture really broke me away from my former roots as a kid from hard-edged conservative family. So despite what haters may say, I definitely think accepting my interest in furries was a benefit.
Glad to see you all back!!
I been on a mission to upload more & it's good to know I can upload more now! Thanks again & I hope everyone has an awesome furry-day!
And yeeesss no more FA-less jail
Into my 18th year in the community and 18th on this site too! (16 officially, 2 as a guest).
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have been here for 14 years after a friend taught me what a furry was. I am now a software engineer by day, and digital artist by night, and I love it. :3
I joined the community because I’ve always felt a draw to furs. That and There’s a really funny loophole as to why, but since that’s nsfw, I won’t share that here. But I am glad to be here nevertheless.
hey, since you have an in with huion, can you please ask them to fix their darn drivers? huion drivers get into a bad state on windows after app crashes and it can prevent apps like blender, inkscape, etc from starting until the system is rebooted or the driver is reinstalled. e.g, blender's open bug report (not fixable on blender's side):
https://projects.blender.org/blende...../issues/111152
i'm not a blender dev, just a contributor with a huion tablet, and this bug drives me up the wall and makes me not use my tablet.
please don't enter me in the raffle, i don't need another huion tablet :)
In regards to the giveaway...
What made me join the community, eh? Long story short I've always liked drawing silly cartoon animal people since I was a kid (thank you animation), found out what "furries" were as a teen, then had friends set me on the course to where I am now. :D
I have apparently helped more than one internet acquaintance 🏳️⚧️ "hatch"—without really trying, just by hanging out and occasionally talking about my own experiences.
I'd love to enter for the tablet ^.^ I joined actually because of my hubby. He got me into the Fandom and I joined to initially share my own art but I'm not happy enough with it yet and haven't posted outside of ArtFight for some time. So instead I've ended up purchasing a few designs for us both as we are huge into character creation for DnD and other such things
FA has always been the one and only place I ever felt seen through my entire 'internet' life.
(I remember the devilish dial up tones of my youth.)
I could always express myself here without fear or judgement of peers. Honestly vent art and being able to outwardly cope is what kept me alive in some of my darkest times. I've met a lot of fantastic people here. I've found love here, lost close friends, made friends for life, met peers of unimaginable talent, been someones 'favorite artist', attended a funeral, and many more things that have brought me the experiences of living.
Thank you guys for all of your hard work.
FurAffinity is an experience, not a website.
I'm HybridiumX, I've been in the fandom since 2014-ish (original account/oc was Nova_Starpaw) and I initially joined the fandom after I saw a very specific drawing of a feral canine OC someone owed on DA ( I think they've deleted it since then unfortunately) but it inspired me to want to create my own. My first actual furry art piece (also of my sona) was this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13515110/ . I've gotten better since then and I'm still very much in love with the fandom. I've even met some very kind people and met a good chunk of my friends on here as well that I've known for years. I plan on staying here as long as the site and myself remain able to continue doing so.
Also sorry if that was longer than needed. Sometimes I get a little wordy. ^^;;
Also very glad to see the site up and running again, thank you all for all your hard work ^^
We believe in you, Puddles!
Glad to see the site back up and running!
Congratulations to everyone on your return!
I think it's a cool idea to bring them back but I also kinda (vaguely) remember why they were taken down. I'm hopeful some thought and guidance was put into it on what can or cannot be in a banner (personal characters, site characters, etc.)
Regardless though it'll be interesting and I'm sure it'll really show the talent of this site! ♥️
QUESTOIN: does the banner have to use any specific character(s)?
But for the site banners, please use
Thanks for your hard work getting the site back up, guys. We appreciate all that you do. Furaffnity is the best place for furries online to be their authentic selves. We need you now more than ever.
Best of luck to everyone entering the contest also 🥂
(Not a US resident, ignore me for the giveaway)
I love the community. Everyone has been so nice. Everyone is- I mean really what can one say about such a great community. I'd just be repeating what other have already. I'd sound like a broken record. Keep being YOU folks~
I like drawing mean girls and I joined way back in the day cause it seemed cool at the time.
I've always had a fondness for anthro characters, from drawing to writing stories and developing their personalities. Found a few fond friends here and joined up about 6 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since. :3
Good luck to everyone entering the drawing! I'm just happy to have a chance to extend my love and thanks for the community. <3
I'm Goldie.
Joined because friend made me a Fursona when I wasn't really that into it and as I explored more I ended up well learning more and joining in and ended up wearing my wonderful partner
Im so happy to see this come back.
i've been around for so long now. someone in college told me about this site and i had been drawing furries and they recommended i post here too. i always loved the idea of walking talking animals. =)
Long live the Furaffinity uploads!
Welcome back!
I actually started as a sonic fan as a wee child before becoming a full blown furry later.
Kid me would have flipped over the sonic movies xD
I joined because I've liked furry art, but kind of stayed away from the community until I lost those furry hating friends and I got laid off from my job. I decided to see if furries wanted to buy my art while I was in-between jobs. Now this is my job!
I came to FA in 2009 looking for a community to share my art with who also loved animals. I didn't know furries were a thing at the time and I've learned alot (and kinks acquired lmao.) FA has always been a safe place to share and explore and I'm so grateful for it!
I came to FA because I was looking to starting my own business-- I wasn't doing so hot out in the public sector IRL being neurospicy as I am. It's been my dream to be an artist my entire life and a few friends of mine really encouraged me to try and gave me a helping hand. One of those helping-hand things was joining FA! I have never looked back! I'm still small-time and have had some set-backs (had kiddos/mental health stuff/etc) but I'm just as excited to be a part of the community as ever!! Thank you for welcoming me to the party! < :3c
As for the giveaway - When I joined the fandom 16 years ago, I was just a kid but FA was the site I'd look at when I'd come home from school every day. I wouldn't make an account until a couple of years later, but I hold those memories very dearly even now.
I think the reason I joined in the first place was that as someone with autism, I always found animals easier to relate to. It seemed like others here also felt the same, we were all outcasts that could understand each other. Even if the fandom has changed a lot since then, it still means a lot to me. I've made a lot of friends and even met my partner through this fandom so it will always be a part of me. 👍
Sadly can't join the giveaway since I'm a Canadian. But that counts as talking about myself, right? :3
ive been a furry artist for around 15 years (counting my childhood since thats when i discovered this wonderful community) and never have i felt so welcomed! I just recently made an FA and im very happy I did, this community here is so kind ^u^ <3
i'd love to join the giveaway, aa! thank you for the chance!
i joined just a bit over a year ago, because i was having a growing affinity to drawing, well, smutty stuff, and found out im a furry, so i made an account hoping i could grow an audience and fanbase for my naughtier artwork :p my current tablet has issues with it's pen pressure dropping, so this chance is wonderful!
I am a US Citizen, open for mecha and furry commissions -- maybe both at the same time, if that strikes your fancy.
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put things back in place after the update!
For the giveaway: I joined in 2013 after years of just lurking on the site, a bit too afraid at first. >_<
After joining I continued to lurk... then eventually felt my art was good enough to post. I now feel more comfortable here to post and share drawings. :)
I joined the community when I was still learning about my furry side. It allowed me to get comfortable with who I am and express myself .
Big ol thanks to the team for all their hard work!
I'd love to go back to digital drawing so, I'm pumped for the giveaway!
-
I hang out with the community because they're the only folks strange enough to suit my tastes~.
I just wish good luck for the contest for participants! And about the Pen Display: last year I looked the Kamvas 22 PlusTablet but I had abandoned for the benefit of superior Kamvas Pro 24 (4K) which still I am experimenting whit them.
Here's to the site. 🍺
As for me, fallowed some artists over from DA, but I think I've been a silent member of the community well be fore then. Now I'm slowly trying to establish and figure myself out.
I myself joined FA because most of my friends all happened to be furries and I wanted to follow their work. Ironically enough, I don't really consider myself a furry, but I've definitely warmed up to drawing anthro characters because of my friends. 😌
I will post new stuff tonight!
I'm okay at traditional art, but I've wanted to purchase a drawing tablet for a long time so I can finally improve my skills!
As for myself, I'm a friendly person who's always interested in meeting new cool people <3
...
I gotta draw more.
I've been part of the fandom for 14 years. No matter what happens or where I go, I will always see FA as a home for myself and a home for furries. It's an amazing website and a great community. Happy to be here for so long.~ <3
As for what made me join the community... May have been suborned into it via a certain equine based cartoon xD definitely shifted a bit in characters since then!
I've had an interest in furries before I knew what they were (therian instincts strong), when I was introduced to FA by a friend in 2012 it pretty much immediately became my main hub.
I've met some truly wonderful people through FA and I'm glad the community is going strong.
for the giveawaaayyy
I got into the furry community from furcadia (jesus the flashbacks) back in like, 2004??? something like that. after that I migrated onto deviantart and at some point found FA, which really encouraged the furry in me lmao. I've been through a lot of website changes over the years but FA sticks with me. if I post online again, it will be here. last true bastion of wild west internet it feels like
I still prefer to draw with a mouse.
Good luck to everyone entering, though. ^,..,^
I joined FA about 1,5 years ago because I'm a zoology&paleontology nerd, I enjoy animating and I especially love drawing silly faces. I will not stop until I've drawn ALL the silly faces. >:3
Hmmm for the giveaway. Well I joined the community in my teens, and I like to think it was the best thing to happen to my life, even with the fandoms very... interesting ups and downs. I have made friends, and I just really do not know where I would be without them in my life now! Heck, I like to think being in this community has helped me become a better and more open person over all!
I joined the community in my late teensas a means to explore a side of myself i began to feel midway thru high school, and a means to escape the chaos of my rl.
This community has helped me learn to know and love a side of me that has felt like it'd be locked away for eons, and has shaped me to be who I am now...I feel like I probably wouldn't be here typing this at all if it wasn't for all you lovely people on this platform and in this amazing community being so open and welcoming to help newcomers learn their 'true selves' so-to-speak ^^
Aside from that, hope everyone is doing great on the staff team!!!
now i'm just a slightly crazy fox
But hi, im Tzvia, I've been in the fandom since i was 13, I am turning 22 come July!
I'm mostly a writer, but i do like doodling and i LOVE 3d printing and CNC manufacturing
it's great to see the site back up!!
Hi, I'm Ruan. I'm 20 almost 21, and I joined the Fandom when I was 16 almost 17. My sona is a lucario scientist who got a little too curious with alien tech. (Became protogenized.) My pronouns are he/him, and I am somewhere on the aroase spectrum (will leave where up to the imagination.) My hobbies are playing videogames, watching anime, and reading manga.
What ended up starting my slow descent into the furry Fandom was werewolves and then pokemon, who would've guessed. However I stick around for the community, the amazing are, and of course, the yiff.
Ah, exactly 1 good thing about living in the United States right now. I initially joined FA because I heard there was more of a community for transformation focused content here than on other sites I was using. And the rest is history~
As for something about me, going to FWA this year, first con ever (had to take my anxiety out back and shoot it, good riddance)
Your body will thank you.
I can't speak for your wallet though.
I joined FA back in the 2000s ish somewhere(I forgot where). But I owuldn't mind entering to hopefully try doing some art for something new if i'll get into it soon. Or to use it for perhaps something new soon as well! o:
i joined back in 2018 after deviantart got a little sketchy. FA has been a much nicer community. thank you for the chance!
Joined FA on the recommendation of a friend from another (now long defunct) forum.
I joined the FurAffinity back in 2007 as I was discovering more about the Furry Community. I had been a member of other sites, but FurAffinity stood out to me as an artist platform more than anything else.
Through FurAffinity, I've made many friends worldwide (as well as moved around the world), created and shared content for friends and casual viewers alike. I've always enjoyed making art, traditional or digital and spending my time trying to improve, and sharing those insights of improvement with other who are willing to learn.
Since joining FurAffinity, I have created a host of characters for myself and helped several others design and redesign their characters over the years (Even helped design a character that became a fur suit for a close friend of mine - the first person outside of my extended family that really made me feel welcome in the USA), some of whom I've been lucky enough to meet in person and share in that process. Through FurAffinty I've met many other artist who have inspired me in the past (and in some cases even to this day) who I like to reach ot to and talk with from time to time to get a different perspective.
With recent events including the loss of Dragoneer and downtimes, it's been extraordinary seeing the community pull together to keep the platform standing strong. Here's to you the adminns, and everyone else chipping in to keeping our community not only growing, but flourishing. All the best to the FurAffinity team for the future and to everyone entering the contest.
Ghostwolf.
Congrats of surviving the maintenance <3 I hope the IT paws get to rest
Also hi I'm Kou, I've been in this community for like.. 16 years now, lol. It took me a while to embrace being a furry, but once I did it was a relief. I love my silly little fursonas, and all the beautiful creativity this community has in it. 💜
I originally joined back in...2010 or 2011? I always loved anthropomorphised animals so it seemed fun to me and was a good, fun place to share my art. I've stuck with FA through my ups and downs, your ups and downs, and just generally had a good time here, meeting friends and folks
I joined to follow such talented artists and, eventually, create my own work to share here!
Thank you for all your hard work!
We’re back in business ^^
Anyway, that looks like an awesome tablet, don't mind me drooling about it over here
Grats on the Huion deal
And a new Rednef banner! OwO
There are many people here with whom you can discuss a variety of topics, but most of all - I love to be creative on my own and with someone!
I personally joined the fandom because I've pretty much loved wolves since I was a child and randomly seeing anthro wolves on google image searches sorta leaned me into it over time. It wasn't ever an immediate plunge, rather a slow descent into the pool of the fandom until I decided to make my first OC into an anthro wolf. More recently I've been participating in more furry events like a con because of how friendly and supportive everyone I've met is.
FA is the best art gallery website on the citadel for sure and is home to my fave online community. Can't believe I've been here for a decade! Here's to a second one!!
I started looking for online communities a few years before finding FA in 2006, at which point I was attracted by the current format of the site and the creators I found here. I've since grown along side other members of FA and have a profound sense of nostalgia and family for this place.
I always had an interest in furry characters, but didn't find out about the community until I was 12 and found fursuit photos on Pinterest. I immediately fell in love and haven't looked back!
I really love sharks ^^
Definitely not been missing this site..... :3
I know there are other sites where I could get my daily furry fix but I don't want to be on loads of different sites, I prefer just being here ^^
I've been in this community for some years now. I joined to be a part of an art community that values creativity, and inclusion, and to be challenged to be a better artist :3 I also love werewolves and dragons, so it was an easy sell :P
Looking forward to seeing FA and the community continue to evolve :D
I joined because of my love for this community and my desire to please people with my creativity o(≧▽≦)o
I originally came out of curiosity and to scoff, and got sucked in by all the cool art.
And thanks for all the hard work, gang!
So good that everything is back up and running, thank you for your services and the attention! ^^
Good luck to everyone participating in the event!! 🐉
im a wizard of many names (3 feet in 3 closets so to speak), but ive landed somewhere near Timotheus! despite dabbling in the arts im actually pursuing accounting bc its my special interest! i joined the fanbase as a kid because of fursuit videos on youtube, i was fascinated by the craft and the performance of the characters, and i had already been drawing myself as a wolf :P thanks rednef for the opportunity! :D
I joined the community because I love anthro characters. I find them neat.
I like to draw funky creatures and make up overly complicated worldbuilding
Also, for the raffle, I joined FA because I had a furry artist friend in real life introduce me to it to see their art. Joining FA actually made a difference in my life, made lots of new friends.
Long time lurker starting to explore social expansion...
Witness the power of poetic verse
And not being picked was a curse
Very many want the prize
Extreme entry pool size
So in randomness fully immerse
I've always wanted to make some sort of cartoon/animated show involving characters in my little world that I've been building up for the past 5-10 years. What pulled me into the furry community specifically was just seeing a bunch of peeps online making furry content. Me being a sonic fan might've helped with that push, but I won't call that the REASON I joined the community lol
As for FurAffinity specifically? Idk but I'm gonna be blunt, probably its categorizations and the fact I've found a lot of fat content on here I guess lmao
Ooh, and something about myself..
III am a vintage nerd for CED movies and their accompanying machines! Movies on vinyl is such a cool concept... o.=.o
Annnd I joined FA around a decade ago because I've always loved the furry community, and I wanted to join the website which held so much of it~ <3 💚
I'm B. or Kitten. Your local cat artist, Aizawa Simp, roller of edible dice > w < I joined the community because I been a furry long as I remember, love the art and community and how kind people are !!
Even a full reinstall of chrome didn't help, they were there before the site was put into read only, no clue what could have led to this. Thank you for trying to help me.
Also when I hit reply the layout is different then before https://gyazo.com/f40bb98b49b495ad6c5a4bd49f701176 but hitting edit comment is still the same https://gyazo.com/eed28cf8a8473e1805e45daf28ae3da0
Oh yea well no u x77 idfk
I originally joined because my ex was into furries. I've always had an interest in anthro characters but didn't know anything about a community of others who liked them. Happy to have found my people! I'm here to stay now 🥰
Ages ago I was following a comic called Black Tapestries because I had an interest in transformation-themed art. After looking at furry art for a few years I finally joined the wider community to participate. Later I joined FA in specific to more easily follow the artists I liked.
Hmmm, I wouldn't mind entering the contest, I'm typically a writer but it might give me the impetus to try my hand at drawing for real.
As for what brought me to the community? A lot of things, a love of fantasy high among them. I've been meaning to be more active, hopefully I'll have a few more things to share soon.
a lil about me for the giveaway: i joined the community because i am a weird and funny animal that likes drawing weird and funny animals and looking at other people's weird and funny animals, and there's truly no better place for
weird and funny animalsself-expression and self-exploration than within the furry fandom. for all its ups and downs furaffinity is truly a unique and special place and the internet wouldn't be the same without it.as for the Raffle: Well I joined FA as I wanted a place where I could post some of my more personal pieces~ and I've stayed since then as the community itself is very friendly towards artists!
I got into the fandom... way too long ago after some unsupervised internet access after getting funny feelings from TImon from the Lion King... oops
For the giveaway; joined the community over ten years ago because of a tracer actually lol they were known for tracing furry stuff mostly and I was in an anti tracer group on DA. Got to talking to furries because of it and saw all the beautiful fursonas!
Good luck everyone!
I been on fa for such a long time. I came here through a link on youtube while watching speedpaint art. During that time. they weren't allowing new accounts yet. but i joined the fa forums then. I met alot of cool people. My art continues to grow here and flourish. Thank you
Hi I'm Uluri. I like to draw cute things and gore. I made it to the furry fandom thanks to obito-uchiha who asked me what my FA was while we were playing a game together and I was sharing my art. I was like "Wha? What's that?" And then discovered this art site full of crazy creature arts where my own art would fit in well, and I just frikken loved it. Thank you for existing.
Been here a WHILE and I'm just proud to contribute to general debauchery~
I'm not eligible for the contest, but I can vouch for the tablet - it's the same one I use!
For multiple reasons (including me being a chicken shit 😅), I've actually never posted any mature art. I still intend to, but my account here isn't really a priority. My posts here have some loooooooong time gaps between them. 😅😅😅
I found the fandom when I was going through college, and it peaked my interest, after lurking for a few months I decided to work on creating a fursona and become a real member of the community since everyone I had met was so friendly and inviting, and because I struggle with creativity and imagination it took like 4 or 5 months to come up with a design I liked, even though the design has been tweaked many times since then, Timber is still my only fursona, the name came from what is commonly yelled when chopping a tree down, and to play into that, Timber is a lumberjack folf, commonly having a axe in paw. Now days I dabble from time to time in 2D and 3D art even though I am not good at drawing, I really hope to change that one day because I do find it relaxing.
I joined FA because I eat, breathe and sleep art. It is my life, and I wanted to share my creations with others!
It was always so cool to open FA and see a new banner pop up!
Thanks for bringing them back!
As for me, I'm just a silly little rubbervixen, but I was a furry from the moment I saw pictures of animals in a book whose pages were as thick as the hard cover itself. I discovered there was a name for this mild obsession and others who shared it with my acquisition of an internet connection in my pre-teen years. It's been a pleasure to watch my generation of furs blossom into the creatives they are today, a privilege and delight to contribute my own modest work with kindred spirits, and a bittersweet experience to watch the pioneers before me gradually pass the torch before receding beyond the veil.
The furry community is as diverse as the creatures - real or imagined - that we draw our inspiration from. And despite the fact furry can mean different things to different furs, we nonetheless seem to accept and encourage this diversity as a strength. That's why I enjoy being a part of the community.
* Just kidding**
** Not really
Finally, I was starving to post my art and sales, thx for everything guys :D
The long and short of it is that I fell in love with the furry community and just never left. Now, I'm 36 with a wide circle of friends and some amount of self-actualization thanks to my being a furry. I wouldn't trade an ounce of that for the world.
Welcome back, FA! Happy to see you around and functional again.
As for me I'm just a friendly neighborhood snake that's sometimes a evil demon wolf. I came to FA in a time when I realized I had a fascination with anthro and furry characters but didn't realize there were others like me.
All it took was one Google search leading me to art from DA that eventually led me to here.
Heck, I'd even suggest adding it to the main menue bar somewhere. Especially as it's a source of revenue for you perhapse right next to "shop". And you could remove it the moment you're no longer getting a cut. Perhapse the button would take you to a journal page explaining why the link and having the link itself in big bold H1 font in said journal so you can't miss it.
Also I joined FA because I've drawn furry art all my life, even before I knew what a furry was.
And nice to see you again Rednef. :3
Another thing: My dad's a furry as well and commissioned Animecat (please go check them out!) for an icon of his sona back in 2011. 10 years after he did that, I came to commission my own sona icon as well :]
I don't remember how I joined this site - because it was way back in 2011. I don't know what I was thinking at the time, but now I know for sure that I can find like-minded people here, whatever they may be. I can show myself. I can express myself in one way or another.
And maybe we can see something more together someday... something important...
I've been here for about 6yrs now, and I never would've guessed that after struggling to pursue my art, I'd eventually be where I am now. I started this whoooole journey drawing on my Nintendo 3DS, and now I continue to grow as an artist with a whole community of like-minded furries, friends and fans!!
Thank you...for everything ^-^
Site livin and breathin again
I joined the community because a few of the artists I wanted to commission were exclusive to FA and I'm happy that I did. I've been introduced to so many incredible artists since then ♥
for the giveaway thing::
i would say there's not a definitive moment i became a furry (i've always had a fixation on anthropomorphic animals), but if i had to choose one, it would be at age 13, when, at an anime con, i hugged someone in a fursuit for the first time. something about that feeling.. the human form clothed in fur.. and feeling like someone else Got It, in a sense! it was electric, and i've been increasingly invested in the community ever since.
to enter uhh well i joined in 09 when i Needed to be Out as trans in the real world and couldnt be, but furries were ready and willing to welcome me as i was here!!
I originally joined this site in 2007 at 9 or 10 years old because I was fascinated seeing people wearing fursuits in shows and YouTube videos. I have always been a super fan of sonic the hedgehog (namely shadow) and things like balto and the lion king! I have a fascination with werewolves and searching werewolf costumes sometimes showed fursuits!! I’ve been in the community on and off since then, and have been gone for a few years and now I’m back. Some of my most meaningful bonds was forged here on FA, and the nostalgia has me coming back time and time again. I’ve struggled with mental, emotional, and physical health my whole life due to abuse and trauma, and the one place I’ve always felt welcome was here in the furry community. If it wasn’t for Furaffinity, I wouldn’t be alive today, to put it bluntly. Dragoneer helped me a lot when I was a young adult. From recovering my ancient accounts, to giving me advice when i needed someone to listen. We weren’t very close and spoke sparingly, but he was always kind to me and it made me realize that there are people out there that care and are trying to make a place for those in this world that feel like they belong nowhere, and are being destroyed by isolation. I’ll always be thankful for Furaffinity not only for the fond memories, but for helping me grow as a person, seeing me through my childhood and teen years all the way til now. I love this place and I love all of you. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. I’m sorry this is so long lol Stay safe and keep up the great work
I like foxes and felines, canines, and dragons. Also sharks and fairies.
I write hardcore BDSM stories that I think scratches an itch for a lot of people - They were hard to find back in the 00's so I started writing and sharing my own. It's crazy to think that I've been a part of this community for almost 20 years.
Also I suppose I'll participate in the raffle!
I'm Panther, I'm a golden Retriever (I know, I know, doesn't really match lol.) I joined the fandom like maybe 9-8 years ago. I joined because I know how to draw animals better than anything else, and I've always had issues understanding human language so I just connect more with animals because I feel like they're easier to understand
Heelo, I'm Eel and I'm an eel! I joined the community once I learned that drawing animals had more to it than just drawing animals :'D
Over time I discovered myself, my identity, my friends, and my partner of 7 years thanks to this wonderful community <3
I don't post publicly anymore due to the state of the internet currently, but I still draw nonstop!
(And thank you for the chance, of course!)
Tl;dr I had a nickel for every time I joined the fandom because I found a friend super cool I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Thank you so much!
What got me to join up?
....It looked like fun. I was a lurker for a long time, and sorta just watched. Eventually I couldn't sit on the sidelines anymore and dove in. Made a 'sona and started participating.
~Angel~
I'm deaf and proud!
I joined FA because a number of friends of mine are furries and I was told it was a good site to post arts and conduct commissions!
The community is so much fun, filled with such diversity of people & furries all over!
I don't consider myself a furry but still enjoy the company of y'all!
give me the tablet please
I joined to share my characters, and the world I was writing, and I'm glad folks seem to like what I dream up!
I got interested in a certain artist's Pokemon artwork, and ever since then, I've been a FurAffinity user.
I am a full-time artist in need of a new tablet ! I love art, riding my bike, and doing some armored combat sports on the weekends.
Originally checked out FA 16 years ago when I was in a bad place. I had been disowned by family for being in a queer relationship. It was a struggle financially and mentally. I was looking for new places to make friends and create art. FA was great for my self-esteem since my art was actually seen, and I was able to start putting food on the table!
Now I'm a full-time artist and this art pays the bills. So, yah! Happy ending btw!
Someone has the same origin story as Kasane Teto, love it!
I think the best moment was when I finally realized I could be a part of the community I felt I could help others like me feel a part of it! It's been a long time since that point, and the internet has come a long way - bit I'm so eagerly looking forward to all the times to come.
About me: Just a hobbyist who draws a bunch of stuff (femboys, spacecore, furballs, you name it!), and am currently making comics.
What made join the furry fandom: Well, obviously, Klonoa and Pokemon are to blame. XD
Thanks for this chance and welcome back, FA!
Will there be a "choose banner" option for the "Fender Chilling" banner and its slight, seasonal variations?
(PS: Rednef does have a nice design, I like the ears ya don't see dragons much with earsies)
I joined because a ton of artists I love and respect are on here, and the community is really great!
And community banners too?! 👀
For the giveaway: I joined the community because I've always loved art and oc's, and discovering furry was like a puzzle piece fitting into place. Good luck to everyone else entering!
As for the giveaway stuff, sure, may as well participate. I've been part of the fandom for over 15 years. Always been interested in anthros because of cartoons and stuff, and I've cultivated enough of an audience that some people recognize me by my badge at cons. I love this community, and I think it's one of the most wholesome ones on the planet. The "fandom" part of the moniker "furry fandom" comes from the fact that we are fans of each other, and I think that's just great. Sure, Judy Hopps and Robin Hood are gateways, but that's not where the bulk of the interest comes from. We love each others' creations, and we support each other. The fact that I've been able to make a living off of this place for a while because of characters I've made is just awesome, and I love that for everyone else able to do the same thing.
Really nice to see 'Neer's passing has inspired people to really start stepping up and improving the site, his legacy. Thanks for this, guys. I suspect he'd be proud. :)
Yaaay!. furaffinity is back in action!!! 💪
As for the community giveaway? I joined because I was a brother to an artist brother, and I wanted to keep an eye on his work that he didn't want to show me, aha. When I eventually got into art myself, finished college, and didn't know what to do with myself... I actually stumbled back into FA. I didn't know about drawing animal people much beyond some illustrations, but when I saw a specific piece -- this one, Warforged. by hyenahyena https://www.furaffinity.net/view/1160064/ - that I realized furry was more about the art than about any weird expectation. So I began to work towards uploading and joining here, and eventually, started calling myself a furry, aha.
Much love again for your hard work. Glad you all are back. And great to see an affiliate with a great tablet company -- love my current Huion even if it's got some age to it now, and if I ever need to upgrade or go through them, will definitely have to remember to use that...!!
Neat to see Rednef back in action and more interaction from the community with events and the banner. I always enjoyed seeing a new banner show up previously.
As for me, seems I was a furry before I knew what a furry was, or that there was a whole community about it. Seems I joined FA but didn't really start using it until a year later I learned some of my friends were artists posting here. Since then, I've been proud to be part of this community, meeting so many new artists, and helping support so many in doing what they enjoy. Whoever ends up winning, it will be amazing to see what they create with it! ^_^
Great to see all the posts back !
Later, like in 2020 or so, I got the idea to do commission art, and the rest as they say was history!
What eventually made me join the fandom was when I joined a raffle for an artist I saw on the front page. I thought nothing of it at first assuming I'd lose, but I won. I gave them my jokesona to draw since that's all I had in the form of something that represented me. It made me so happy seeing it drawn. Something that was originally made a joke given new life, new meaning. That's when I decided to fully embrace and join the fandom.
I believe what made me join the fandom was some combination of having unrestricted internet access at too young an age, and discovering/looking at.. stuff.. on DeviantArt, Reddit, and Experience Project. Eventually I made a FurAffinity account, 10 years ago this month (not this account though). FA & Twitter (Bluesky now) and the furry community has been my online home ever since.
Welcome back, crew!
Not gonna lie, winning the new tablet would help incredibly.
But hello to the new/old/upcoming/april fools replacement mascot!
As far as the question given, I lurk 98% of the time in the FA community, and joined due to a series of domino effects that started with me trying to find out if their was more pokemon animations outside of flipnote studios from the nintindo DS back in 2010ish!
I draw most times but i do enjoy making other crafts like soap and bead bracelets. I recently started streaming again!
What made you join the community?: Honestly it was how welcoming to everyone in the art community. i wasnt shamed or told my art was bad, i had people help me grow as an artist through the years and made so many friends along the way. I never felt like i belonged anywhere before hand, and once i joined i basically live on this site.
Congrats to staff and thank you for working hard to bring Fur Affinity back!
i have always liked animals and drew them a lot growing up!! but my step into the more furry world was through pokemon/pmd when i started doing ideas/commissions for it!! ^w^
Now i am just.. full on furry artist!! drawing lots of critters.. and still pokemon too <33
It is always good to participate =3
I hope the winner gets the prize for art, studies, or just as a good thing to happen!
*Hugs to all*
As for the giveaway… well, my memory is a bit fuzzy. I just happened to come across an artist’s work that I liked when I was 19 or 20. I wanted to find the source and it led me to FA. From there, I looked at more artwork and downloaded the ones I like. That was when I started to realize that I really liked moving and talking animals.😛😅 Now, I’m trying to practice drawing again, so I can make furry art myself. Glad to be a part of this community!
Oh, and already have a Huion tablet. What a coincidence. So yeah, do not include me in the giveaway. I WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT MYSELF!
Alternately, you can reference what Advanced Search is capable of in the Search Help section here: https://www.furaffinity.net/help/#search
I think my childhood fav 3D platformers with animal mascots are what gave me an initial…. Affinity (ha) towards animal characters. (Particularly Spyro though lol)
My first sona was a dragon named Girri. (yes, it got shortened over time)
Imagine my surprise when I hopped online for the first time to find there’s a community and name for these specific types of characters!
Took me a while to commit to making a FA account but.
I'm Sirfy, I been a part of FA since 2008 and been an artist of many flavors since~ I dabble in different art types and am always looking to try new things to improve. I also Stream over on Twitch under SirfyBee with a variety of games and sometimes stream my art there :) I am engaged and currently working towards saving to move to England to be with my fiance.
Goodluck everyone
Stay humble and bumble!
still! always enjoy the illustrations and positivity around here <3
Grats on getting a Huion sponsor / giveaway! I use one and it's super nice.
How else to you get a pink haired, red eyed hellspawn from a blue eyed blonde girl and a blue eyes black haired guy?
As for a little about myself, I am just a digital artist who mostly draws humanoids but I do dabble in anthropomorphs here and there ^^ I enjoy drawing me and my friends OCs, talking to my friends and drawing with them, and other thingssss
Tysm for the chance !
Happy dragoness is happy!
throwing my entry in for the giveaway, i joined the furry fandom because i kept seeing cool anthro pokemon ref sheets on devart back in the day from the sonic artists i followed and thought that was rad. the sonic->furry pipeline is real
As for the giveaway, I don't remember joining the community, it's just always been a part of what I am. I joined FA, though, because one of my favorite artists was on here.
Glad you guys are back.
A lil factoid bout myself joining. hmmm, A friend back in High School showed me a CDROM he burned full of furry porn from early 2000s era and instantly hooked.
Hmm and a little thing about myself... i'm working on comics for the first time! I'm excited to eventualy post them here :D
Cool giveaway! I joined up here because I wanted to continue to follow some of my favorite, very talented artists whose work I admired on the old VCL site from back in the day.
I joined FA, a long time ago because i thought that it'd be interesting to see some gorgeous work and posting my art there. It's also great to see Rednef- Oh wait, pleasure to meet Rednef and once again, Welcome back FA! ♥💙
I joined because I wanted to have another website to post my artwork. I liked how this website is easy to load (even when you have difficult web loading issues), and has a cool userbase. Even when things get dramatic, I still always lurk and have been here on FA for quite some time. I've had friends who introduced me to FA and I like it a lot!
I continue to stay on here because I've made new friends over the years and it's nice to stay connected. I don't go on many other social medias (I've tried but rage quit over time) ~ and FA is here to stay for me, as long as you guys keep the lights on. I appreciate you, FA!!!
Had some friends back in highschool that were great with their art is how I first found this place, then recently I have gone down the commission rabbit hole.
Fingers cross for the tablet, that would be great so I can improve my own talent.
I've been grateful to keep Classic for years, but I feel like eventually I'll have to force myself to move over to the new one.
You know those people only want those tools in order to abuse them.
Yes. They are trying to turn FA into the things you said you don't want. They already said they were trying to add a trending tab and an algorithm years ago.
They have literally been wanting to turn this place into Twitter2 for years, and the only thing stopping them was a guy who specifically said he built this place for porn and adults.
When in the last 20 years, they have lowered the acceptable age, from 17 to 13, and allow children to run amok on the Discord.
Not to mention how the staff absolutely only listens to children, and abuses the adults who have been here for longer than some of these children have been born, let alone the amount of accounts who've been here less ttan 10 years.
Pay attention. It's a lot worse than you think it is.
The only thing stopping them right now is their hubris.
I first joined the fandom after looking up related terms on the early internet like The Lion King, Balto, wolves, and werewolves! I joined FA pretty early on (this isn't my original account) and have been pretty active here ever since!
And would it be possible to get the select all/select none buttons back in classic mode again? You know, after the tech team sleeps for a week LOL
as for me, i joined the fandom (and FA) because i feel safe to express myself here in ways that i cant in real life. we all scratch each other's backs here. and of course, the gooning,
thanks for the chance FA staff and huion :3c
Hmm I actually don’t remember how i found FA. I know i went from transfur to DA not long beforehand though.
I joined around 2016 because of a friend. Haven't stopped and I'm happy to have another art-focused site now that deviantart has lost its way. Good to see new features and updates still coming out here!
Thanks for the decades of community and creativity and inspiration, and congratulations on your return to full operation!
But I've stayed 'cause of the community that came with the site. I met my circle of friends right here!
Also, how do I get FA swag if i don't win this raffle?? I WANT FA SWAG!!!
Oop.
I've been on the site since about 2007 (on this account since 2013, but I had a lurker account for a long time before that). I joined primarily because I was still discovering myself at the time and wanted to connect with other furries (sort of "taking the plunge" after skirting around on the furry fringe on DeviantArt).
A fact about myself (that you'll probably notice pretty quickly if you look at my page) is that while I love the idea of making creative things (music and storytelling in my case, though I also like playing around with drawing), unfortunately I haven't really had the opportunity to make it a priority. That said, I'm hoping maybe that can change!
The most recent time I bought a tablet was a small Huion. I didn't get a screen protector for it, so it got a bit scratched up early on. I'd love a nice upgrade, so I hope I win, but if I don't, I recommend whoever wins to get a screen protector, just to be safe. :) Otherwise, it has been a great tablet~
Good luck all, and welcome back!
I fell in love with the furry world back in early 2000s.. First it was furcadia.. then Gaiaonline then here. I am still on gaia. Lol. But my heart is with FA. The community is amazing. The comics.. Artwork and artists alike are amazing. Sure, we have had some bad apples here and there but there is nothing that would drive me away from FA. <3
ive always been incredibly obsessed with cats and very quickly found myself in anthro communities ^_^ i think i made my first fursona in 2014! and ive been making warriors fanart and ocs for even longer
Anyway, for me, joining the furry community was a gradual thing with no clear beginning.
I think I first became aware of furries as a specific thing around 2004ish, but by that point I'd already seen people in all of my fandoms (neopets, various cartoons and nintendo games, etc.) representing themselves as nonhuman characters online for years, so that was just kinda the standard way of interacting with the internet for me in the 2000s.
So, I guess you could say I've always been around, or that I joined in 2004ish when I learned that I could search "lizard man in boxers" and get results, or in 2013 when I first started posting my furry art anywhere besides video game forums, or in 2016ish when I finally started calling myself a furry. :P
And well I'm here because I'm a furry, even if my art has sort of shifted focus I'm still a sergal at heart, this site has been part of my life for so long I've lost track, honestly.
Came to FA though friends really, the community is the nicest i ever been in. Everyone is such a kind soul <3
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽
Amazing news that FA is 100% back up, I got tired of touching grass 😂
I came into the furry fandom when I attended my first Furry Convention. My friend invited me and been here ever sense. I do have to say, my neko girl phase was probably my gateway into the furry fandom 😆
what fun announcement and updates! so cool about the partnership! I'm a canadian furry who just adores checking out all the awesome arts!
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60757148
as for about myself, I just like getting to meet and talk with various artists and there are plenty around!
Keep up the great work!
First off, thank you all for your hard work!
I bought an accordion over the pandemic~
(I'm an instrumentalist by hobby x3)
As for when/why I entered the fandom, well I've been fascinated with anthros ever since I read Redwall and played Starfox at a young age. Growing up I took interest in furry art, but never took the plunge into the fandom proper until the Covid years. At that point I was lonely and bored and decided to give it a shot. I regret nothing!
I was introduced to the furry community through furry raver YouTube videos back in 2011 but had been drawing anthro characters for much longer than that. I already had made multiple fursonas before I knew what they were, so I kinda feel like I've always been a part of it!
As for an "about me", uhh.. I'm an anxious hermit who originally joined FA back in 2009 because a friend said I might have an easier time with getting commissions here than on DA. I was more focused on anthro designs at the time, and...well, she was right! It's been a very cozy stay. My interests have shifted a fair bit since then, but I still love drawing all things fluffy and always will! ✨
I'm 25 and I do archival work and electronics repair as a hobby and have started to try my hand at art again.
Maybe I'll try doing a banner~
Though damn that man, you know who, for those stupid tariffs on literally everything against literally everyone over nothing!
And that giveaway? Funny enough, I was just thinking it's probably time to retire my current tablet, it’s been making sounds like a bag of chips every time I draw >__>
Anyway, I’m in!
My story’s nothing wild, just your classic case of "kid who loved drawing pets way too much" qwq; One day I discovered DA and was like "Wait people actually do this? Like for real?" Total game changer xP Then I somehow stumbled onto FA in 2018 and never looked back. Been stuck in furry purgatory ever since XD
That's awesome!!
>To enter the giveaway we just need you to comment below with a little something about yourself! What made you join the community?
I'm an oldhead-ish... I was a lurker back when the OG Sheezyart had issues and people migrated to here, and I started being more active in 2010. I fell off for a long time but I'm glad to be back because FA feels like one of the few surviving "true" art communities with no web 3.0 bloat, AI, etc. so thank you for that <3
I initially joined here because I needed an NSFW alt and didn't want to make a new email. I have actual alts now, but this is still a good gallery site, and the commission tab comes in handy sometimes. Only been around a few years, but FA got me in contact with a lot of cool people!
ive been a furry for over 10 years thank you FA for being the first steps to having the best times of my life
And I could really use a new tablet, mine is already getting scratched up to hell! D:
Why did I join FA specifically? From the encouragement of an old friend (and I believe then-FA Staff member), HungryJackal. Waaay back in December 2005. I remember back when you used to be able to find your User ID number, and I was (if I recall correctly) user #4451.
As to why I joined the furry community? Well I've always been a furry. I remember running around the house pretending to be a 2-tailed fox when I was just 4 years old. But I found out that there were others like me I could interact with around the late 1990s or early 2000s.
Thanks for all you do!
I joined a long while ago because I wanted to expand where I posted my art and I had some friends on here. I stayed because I made a lot more friends and enjoyed the community! Its not my favorite place to post art!
A little something about myself, I've been familiar with the furry community for about a decade now. My love and passion for anthropomorphic characters is what got me involved, and it's the absolute joy of creating these characters and sharing them with the community that's kept me around all these years. Admittedly, I need to be more active on FA.
As for me, I learned about furry stuff in middle school through my love for Digimon. I heard about FurAffinity, and I joined when I turned 18. It's always a joy to visit and the people here are amazing. Had it not been for the friendships I've made here, I might not ever have realized I'm transgender. I'm sincerely grateful to everything this website and its community has done for me.
Well im in my early 30s and run heavy equipment To be honest i found the fandom and join because of my brother.
What made me join this community? well back then on 2015-era when I was a simply person who loved anthro art, doing sketches of random art... and time flies away until myself being artist for a long-term on my live, glad to meet everyone here with same interest :3
I joined a while ago, mostly because this is where my friends has accounts. While I may not be a furry artist it's one of the last places that don't censor you to death. It's been incredibly upsetting to see so many places ban NSFW for example. These are dark times and I worry, but I'm glad this place is still going.
As for for that giveaway.. I'm hoping to snag one as a gift to my lovely wife, LadyBlackCobra ! I joined in the fall of 2008, not even a year after I joined DeviantArt. As a kid who grew up with Pokemon, I guess it was natural that interest would grow up with me here.
i'm lev/cold and i live in northwestern US, but i'm originally from the northeast. i've been a furry ever since i could remember consciously, even my first art being furry art. i'm a self taught independent artist :3 i post all of my stuff here because this is best site for my kinda art. cheers!
I joined FA 'cause no one talked to me on Furnation- back in '07.
*checks gallery and immediately turns into dust* XD
So yeah, about me? I joined FA because I was a furry refugee from SheezyArt, when we got banned. My big 'in' was werewolves and transformation . X3
I have always drawn furry like characters even since I was real little so naturally I gravitated to the community when I found it 15-20 years ago.
Oh, and I like chocolate.
It must've been a difficult time getting things straighten out.
That art on the journal.
I've seen it before, but I don't remember the name of that meme.
Thank you for the opportunity to win a Huion tablet too!!
I'm Misfit, an odd little rabbit who likes to draw and animate in Live2D :] This is actually my second account here, as I ended up rebranding back in ~2020/2021. I grew up being immersed in animal/furry adjacent media, especially through video games like Sonic, Sly Cooper, Star Fox, Spyro, and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
I then learned about the fandom through my current day partner back when we were both kids, and was instantly overjoyed to find a community of people who also adored animal related art and expression! The furry community as a whole has helped me develop (and even rekindle) a passion for art!
As for FurAffinity, I learned about the website during dA's eclipse shift! I made the leap in hopes of finding an art community outside of it n_n
I just think talking animals are neat. They've always been my favorite characters in fiction and I just never grew out of it.
Bonus something about myself: I live part of the year in the US, and part in the south Bahamas. (Hi, Long Island! 🇧🇸)
As for the "about myself" part of the comment: What made me join the community? It's a lil' silly but I was a lil moderator on a pokemon forum that happened to be run by PokeFurs. Making friends there, I became introduced to the word "furry" and I just went along with it when I was told that I was a furry due to my obsession about a specific Pokemon. Later I ended up meeting other furries on chat programs and fully embraced the label after discovering a little more about it!
im not american so i will totally not get the prize, just want to say, i moved to furaffinity because deviantart was burned to the ground. and i didnt regret it, furaffinity has genuine community that i like being a part with. these people are real and actually talk about art, not talking about ai ai ai all the time.
it's great to be here :)
as for myself, i'd been marginally in the community for years when i was younger, fully in the "yeah i like anthros and represent myself with an animal character but i SWEAR i'm not a furry guys" mindset LMAO. glad i immersed myself and the community was welcoming to me in turn! :D
thank you for hosting the giveaway as well!
And I am relearning the entirety of art again because I just found out how perspective works and snouts are too long.
But protogens look surprisingly good! probably because face is giant block
Now its YOUR turn to go hide in a crowd
I joined because I saw all these cool animals that I identified with in a sense, and a very overall welcoming community with lots of very cool people that made sure not to accept bad actors.
also, i joined the community when i was 16 (in 2009) because i'd already been drawing anthros and someone who liked my art told me about FA. that was how i was introduced to the furry fandom. been here ever since.
can it be unnecessary animated? owo (gif or apng)
(*unnecessary - means it can look good with animation and without it)
What made me join the community of furaffinity was seeing people’s work online, and then wanting to see where they come from. After a while, I started liking this community.
Now what made me join the furry community might be weird, but I saw YouTube videos of drawings of transformation into anthropomorphic animals. After a while, I found out about the term “Furry” and did not think much of it. After about a month, I realized that I might be becoming a furry myself, with my interest more on not just the transformation but also the anthros themselves. Since then, I have been a furry (Since around 2019).
For me, I joined the fandom back in 2014, and slowly got used to being a part of it over time. I started learning art because of the community, and eventually want to get more of my own stuff out there.
Massive thanks to everybody working behind the screens to resolve the original issue, you're all stars!
to enter the contest!:
a little about me, my name is zax. im 30 and first found furry in my youth, but never really engaged with it till i was about 24 or so. my sona is a fox cat! i couldnt just pick one animal x3 so i went with two! furaffinity is actually how i found more of the art side / social posting of the fandom! and fun fact, i met my partner on here :3
I've been around here for years - for friends and a reliable home for my art.
I was drawn to animals and anthro characters long before I knew the fandom existed and well then the internet came along and I started finding artists I liked the who drew anthro/furry art. I wanted to become an artist just like them, because to kid me that was so cool. It’s still cool and I did become an artist!
My name (online) is Fite. I started doing traditional portraits of people early on in my artist journey, especially in middle school. I actually found out doing fan art of the band members of Linkin Park I had a decent understanding of shading and not to stop doing art! I ended up slowly transitioning to digital late in high school. As an adult it has been my main medium of art now but I still do traditional pieces for fun to practice my shading work!
Glad to see the platform back up! I missed FA ngl.
I’ll admit I haven’t been super active with uploads here.. these days I mostly use FA to browse artists I admire for those solely on here. I shifted to posting more on social media the receent past years, but with how those platforms (especially Twitter) have been falling apart lately, and others had fallen out of popularity, I’ve been seriously thinking of coming back and sharing more here. The changing online landscape due to forced politics has hit my motivation too, and I haven’t posted anything new since January other than some random doodles, but I do want to get back into it, I do want to make more digital art, but I can't do what I wish to do, with my current set up.
When I do make digital art, it’s the old-school way: with a mouse. I don’t own a tablet (either desktop or portable), mostly due to financial reasons, so most of my art ends up being traditional sketches, as drawing digitally with a mouse is rough, so i limit my digital art to simple lineart or basic flat colors.
This giveaway honestly means a lot.. if I were lucky enough to win, you’d definitely see me making and posting a ton more digital art here on FA. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the opportunity!
Hope to be here for many more years to come. Thanks for working so hard FA staff, and we appreciate the awesome giveaway! <333
Long ago I had a comic to post and it wasn't going to be on VCL
I used to get many more comments back years ago when I posted more regularly and had more 'vanilla' art, but I don't regret the shift to the kinkier stuff I draw now and I've made a lot of very good friends through my own little corner of the fandom, and through posting my art here! I'm trying to get back in the habit of posting regularly instead of doing upload spam dumps, but I've gotten SO bad at social media as I've gotten older, I just want to spend all my time having conversations on Discord instead of yeeting art into the void.. FA's a pretty nice void though, and I always am happy with the response I receive even if it's not as fevered as it was 10 years ago.
I think I'll probably be here as long as the website itself is - and if it ever stops being a thing I hope yall give us some early warning because I have 20 years of submissions here and many pieces of art that don't exist anywhere else, including in my own storage, and it'd be good to get a chance to grab some of it before it's gone. (Though you'll notice I'm not downloading it all now - it'd be a huge project and one I'd rather not sink a week into unless I have to, haha.)
I'm sorry for however much my upload dumps and overly full inbox have contributed to server issues! I'm trying to stay on top of both uploading normally and clearing out my inbox now, so having the scare of the site vanishing for the first time in a really long time is a good kick in the ass to be a more responsible user.
I've been making my living largely off of FA for almost as long as I've been on the site itself, furry art is my day job and it wouldn't be possible without this website.
That Huion would be really nice, my tablet is nearly 10 years old and showing it, and I've been wanting a bigger one since I've gotten in better drawing habits (ie from the shoulder, not the wrist), but my pockets are nothing but moths most of the time these days despite doing decently well for myself as a commission artist - the world is a pretty expensive place these days and a series of unfortunate circumstances and hasty decisions have left my wife and I in a position of striving to make ends meet despite what should be a good income. She's going in for a full lumbar laminectomy later this month and if there are any complications she might be out of work for a bit (which means only 50% pay) so I might be having to draw my ass off a little harder in the coming months.. a tablet that's less uncomfortable to use would be a big help! I know saying that doesn't affect my chances but, you asked to hear something about me so, that's a thing about me :V
Good luck to everyone who enters!
I love video games, and I joined Furaffinity out of curiosity!
Now...fingers crossed for RNG to roll in my favor...
I've been an artist on here for a very long time, was tangential to the fandom but was finally dragged in here properly by my best friend czgoldedition.
The only tablet i have that can plug into my desktop computer is a wacom graphire 3. That's a whole four inches wide. From 2004. :'D so I could certainly use an upgrade!
Im Chiss, Ive been in the furry fandom for over 15 years now. I got into the fandom by discovering and playing Furcadia. I've been drawing for as long as at least since i could pick up a crayon, lol. I always had an affinity for animals so obviously that evolved into drawing them too!
I've been in the fandom for over 20 years now, and have never switched my Fursona species! 20+ years of a Wolfabbit shenanigans.
Thank you for your hard working ❤️
I will fully admit that I probably joined the furry community several years ago without fully realizing it, but it's been a good time around here regardless. Always fun art and artistic works to see, and lots of supportive people across the board from what I've seen. I hope that people continue being nice to each other, across this community, and I hope that we keep going strong for many years to come. Furries control the internet after all, right?
Best of luck to the admins of FA with keeping everything running, we've all got your backs.
i joined the fandom a little over a decade ago, but I hadn't joined in on in-person meetups/cons until i was an adult. furaffinity has always been a great place to post my art, and I'm grateful for the friends I've found here!
As for myself, I joined the fandom around 2002 but joined the site proper in 2006. Been lurking for a few years afterwards before I mustered the courage to step out and be seen. Then I started to write and found that I loved it.
I joined the community back in 2007ish when my friend in high school introduced me to it and I instantly knew I had to join.(yet I still struggle with what I want my fursona to be xD)
I became a fur in 2007/2008 after happening upon the art, Furthia High, and a few short stories I have long forgotten.
Aside from that, I also do commissions as my full-time job ^_^
As for why I joined the fandom? Honestly, it was entirely because my boyfriend, when we were much younger, brought up a group of people who liked funny cartoon animals and I decided to become one of those people. Now over 10 years later, here I still am!
Glad to see FA back up and running, thanks a bunch for this opportunity, and I wish everyone the best of luck~ ^u^
For the giveaway: I joined in because of the way furry/anthro media lets me explore and express my identity.
Furries adopted me by supporting my art, I enjoyed the community... decided to stay and the rest is history! haha
All of my favorite media as a kid was furry-adjacent and I always played the furry options in games. I was doomed.
Dragon on and on.
Heh-oh wait it's the year of the Dragon.
Uhhh heh guys, buddies, my cool Dragons please don't squish me or roast me as punishment for the bad made in your na-YIPE! Put me down!

The data has blown over the web;
The data has blown over the internet,
and brought back my FA to me, to me.
Brought back, brought back,
Brought back my FA to me, to me
Brought back, brought back,
They brought back my FA to me.
It's far away over the internet
It's far away over the web
A beautiful palace is waiting
For my dear FA and me
Yiffing, yiffing, its far better over
the web now
Thanks to the tech team for bringing FA back to all of us!
It's a truly unique site and I'm thankful to all who keep it running!
My friend originally showed me a shock/cringe site in 2008ish and it contained furries, or more specifically, scalies. I vaguely knew about furries, but I didn't know you could be a dragon! So I had some closeted interest in it from 2009-2012 and kinda avoided it because idk, dumb reasons.
I then decided in 2017 to not care about being "cringe" and to make a sona and officially "join". After my sona was established, I made an account here (well, I had one before, but it was just for browsing)
And well, I guess that's kinda it. Since then I've gotten more into art, met some great people and yeah
Uhh thanks for the Ohio (I meant to put opportunity, but imma leave the autocorrect)
And that is how you know I'm old.
Now fingers crossed for tablet. 🤞
Super stoked to see a giveaway and glad for full site functionality.
Hello Ex-Dreamer.
I oftentimes have been on the outskirts of furry circles, but I can't deny this site has connected me with many wonderful friends, and been a spot of, where I can let loose a bit. I remember originally joining here to support my ex, but then really, truly actually jumped into the scene and seriously using my account, to find greener pastures, in social & art-making, after that era of my life ended.
And it's been a nice time, despite my sometimes hiccups. Thank you to the staff for providing a site like this, that's hosted so much talent, and of course, so much friends.
Me: "Yay! :D"
"We unfortunately do have to limit the give away to US residents at this time given the current tariffs in place."
Me: "Uuuuh :("
(It's just a joke... a little ^_^)
I sat down on this seat, and a few tiles away was this young man - I believe my own age - who just started talking to me. Then we ended up talking art, and next thing I know, I'm in a RP dream! Suddenly, I have a fursona. Oh no, now they're my character - now I have a new fursona! OH CRAP, now THIS ONE is a character too!! Could not for the life of me hold onto a fursona. The designs just made much better characters!
Had never thought much of furries before then. I'm not even sure I was entirely aware of the concept!
Now, whenever I'm feeling stoppered up on art, I give myself an 'easy win,' I just go draw something with a big ol' snout, some lovely digi legs, and preferably some claws!
Anyways, I'm Beez, I joined here because in growing from some personal shit in my life, this seemed like a genuine and open community that I wanted to connect to people in. I've found some lifelong friends from posting here.
Or do some have block me because of my comments’ (Is this look like a face that cares? No.)
Thank you, for all the people that work so hard to bring FA back to life.
And now back to the show!
I originally joined the community in 2009 because I had recently found out about YouTube too, loved subscribing to people and getting a feed, and thought "man, it's like Youtube, but for furries!"
[Living in the US]
To be honest I joined because I found the place on accident and liked what I saw. Picking through submissions helped me learn a lot about myself… I should probably creating again.
I'll happily enter the raffle, and thanks for the chance! A little something about myself...I've been a furry since 2008 and been dabbling in almost every musical instrument there is for about the same amount of time, and yet I've never once uploaded any music to FA.
I should change that, someday.
We really, badly need to have more control over what notifications we get from whom.
For example, today I had to un-watch an artist whose work I enjoy seeing because a third of my journal notifications consisted of them advertising their merch and sales. :( Ideally, I would want notifs of their submissions but not their journals.
The rest of my journal notifs are YCH reminders and commission opening announcements. Some people use journals for sharing personal stuff or asking questions, and I want to see those, but I don't want journals from those people who use it only for advertising and commission announcements.
Also, journals need to have categories, so I can select to get personal journals, but no ads, comm openings, sales, or reminders. ESPECIALLY reminders... they are still a plague.
Submissions should also have dedicated, filterable categories for art, YCHs and other.
Now, all that said, I of course understand that running the site is a ton of work, especially for volunteers, and I really appreciate everything you guys have done and are doing. But I humbly ask you to consider the above. <3
I am glad the site is back up and running! Missed seeing all the amazing art!
I adopted my original fursona from here and I could not be more grateful for all the amazing artists and friends I have met on here over the years!
I joined the community because of a love for fuzzy animals! Seeing art of anthropomorphic ones going about their daily lives just felt right somehow haha
I don't think people mention it enough but huge props to the entire staff for being extremely transparent, talkative and open for discussion!
FA has been down many, many times before, but this downtime was the very first one where I felt confident, informed and thus very patient.
Thank you for keeping us up to date with cool tech stuff that go on behind the scenes too!
I've joined community because I love anthro characters since I was watching cartoons, they have some kind of magic when human characters is boring
I think I joined FA because I was getting interested in fursonas and was looking for artists ^^
Just another artist trying to make his way in the universe........
Donkeys are cute.
Don't you know that there is a ton of users/furries that aren't living in the US ? If the winner accept to pay the shipping, I don't see why it would be a problem.
You should give the same chance to every users regardless of where they live. Every furries count, many artists and builders aren't living in the US (and they send their work wordwide, including the US...).
I'm really disappointed by this decision.
Honestly, what made me join the fandom was, for one, my enjoyment of the various artworks I was seeing by all the creative artists and many of the comics I was reading like Housepets and, the one that got me into the fandom in the first place, Sabrina Online. The other reason was just seeing how welcoming and fun this community is and, as someone who grew up not really fitting in at school and always tended to be by himself most of the time, this was huge for me.
Funny enough, I always had this feeling I was meant to be a part of it as, growing up, I always enjoyed watching the anthro-themed shows (like The Reppies, Between The Lions, and Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers) and games (like Star Fox 64) more then I did other shows growing up.
Also Me: Realizes fender is female.
*Baps self on head*
Still think she's hot though.
Thank you for being a part of our love story!
Appreciate the opportunity to win a tablet ^^
I’d like to enter for the Huion tablet! I joined the community because I am a furry from birth, I was drawing my favorite cartoon characters with animal features before I even knew what a ‘furry’ was! XD FA is the largest, most well known site for furries to post and have a community! I was 18 years old when I joined the site. There are so many artists I admire that I discovered here, and I’m so glad for it!
Drawing and looking at furry art really is my calling in life! XD
As for my entry for the giveaway, I joined the community so long ago I don't exactly remember how I got into it. I think I slowly started looking at more and more of the art, and then eventually started making art for people... and the rest is history. Now art is my fulltime job! Thanks to FA and the furry community <3
Also, I joined the community because I had a love for drawing animals, and furries appealed to me. I was quite young when I realized I was a furry. I was so happy to find a community of likeminded people.
And you know what, I'll enter the raffle, I love Huion already and I'd love to have a graphics tablet with a screen!
I joined the furry community around 2006 when I made a fursona with inspiration from artists on The Lion King Fanart Archive (when I saw talk about fursonas for the first time). From TLKFAA I found people talking about FA and I found some really neat stuff and learned some things about myself. I've had the same fursona all these years and they've changed design and grown with me as I've grown. Furry and FA have allowed me to go through a lot of self discovery and I am forever grateful for that.
I'm Jynx! I've been drawing for almost 11 years. I started when I was 10 because my aunt was expecting and I wanted to draw animals for my cousin. I've been almost exclusively a furry artist since. I found out about the furry fandom in February of 2019 and decided to call myself a furry since I was already drawing that kind of art and I've never regretted it!
I'll be honest, I've never actually paid attention and noticed Fender (I honestly didn't even know FA had a major)
But I may live under a rock because I also have no idea what Huion is either XD.
Welcome back~
As for stuff about myself, well, I initially joined up to follow one of my first art friends who made my primary sona, and I've just been quietly lurking ever since. Getting a commission here and there, favoriting The Good Stuff. The usual
For me, in 9th grade a friend showed me
A lot of the furry comics I read at the time helped me safely explore and come to terms with my sexuality.
(sits on a stool making pigeon noises)
For the huion giveaway... I am Crow and I am an artist and mechanic. I have two main characters, one is a skulldog and the other is a fruit bat/flying fox mix.
Best of luck to all who enter!
I joined this community because of its immense creativity qnd friendliness. Never before have i been around such a diverse group that focuses on one common thing; a love for all things anthropomorphic. I've met most of my friends here, many on this site, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
I joined the community when young, because I've always been obsessed with anything animal. :3
Hi, I'm Maria or Wolfbane154 ^^ I've been here for many years, offering comms, showing personal art and getting to know the community more. It's been a wonderful place to be and i'm happy to see it back online again. Thanks to the FA Team!
As of right now, it looks like Rednef is lacking but that should change soon!
The Huion affiliation sounds great, I can imagine how that could open a path to new possibilities
I joined the community after the passing of kitty0706, after seeing his fiances tribute to him performed at anthrocons masquerade. It all branched from there, saw lots about cons, got further interested in the fandom and here we are still today.
Holidays are great as well.
Clothing wise, I'd at least keep their iconic ties involved :D
ask where do I send it to him?

Having a Huion Kamvas tablet would absolutely change my life. A few of my friends have one and I've been desperately wanting one but can't afford one. I really love Huion stuff generally because it works so well compared to other tablets I've used. It's like the holy grail of tablets.
Really happy I joined this site in 2018, I became much better as an astist over the years thanks to huge community support :3
Good luck everyone!~
Also super glad the site is back up too!!
I joined this community 7-8 years ago because i always thought that furries were the nicest people on the internet, and that still proves to be true! I’ll be staying as part of this community for the unforeseeable future!
Would have been nice, my tablet is an old Wacom about the size of a stamp. Don't know how old it is, but I had it when Revenge of the Sith came out. It's not very good but it works pretty well and they cost money so we're stuck with each other. Anyway.
It started with ancient art and statuary. Then some early art on the internet, and of course video game with beasts races. I think if you're predisposed to this stuff, it'll happen sooner or later. FA came along, and I lurked for several years. Saw cool art, and wanted to try my hand at it as well, but never quite managed. It was (and is) better than DA, so that was a simple choice.
Many years later, I wanted to learn to draw again. I'd given up drawing and art many years earlier, but thought I should give it another go. So I did, and remembered this place and came back. It's a big pond, but you're still welcome even if you're not very good. And at this point, FA is like a pocket of the internet how it used to be, and that's really a big attraction! It was high time to take the plunge and join in, so I did. Been happily stuffing the server up with nonsense ever since!
I think a lot of people were inspired like I was, because a lot of the early art that drew me in was based on that, too.
Oh yeah I draw chunky toon men! I joined to meet people who are into the same.
I joined the community because I was googling furry memes and accidentally found out I had been a furry for years.
This good?
I joined the community because I love talking, anthropomorphic creatures. So I've used all types of media to show this. :3
The name's Renaki, I'm 39, I live in the US and my bf introduced me to this site and the furry community in general WAY back in 2007, and I've been here ever since! I've made so many wonderful friends on this site that it's become a second home to me over the years. You can't get rid of me that easily. ;3 I've been a digital artist since 2013 and my second tablet which is also a Huion just conked out on me a couple nights ago, so that would open up so many doors for new ideas :3
Shoutout to everyone on the FA team for keeping the site up and running for so many years. We may get knocked down, but we're not out! Good luck to all who are entering the contest! :3
Search for "Rednef" and many old banners for the site come up. Just because you haven't heard of her validates her making this journal and getting better known.
I'm pretty new, joined last year. I had enjoyed furry art for a long time but it took until recently to discover that I was one lol. Now I have 2 fursonas and other characters too ^^
P.S Thylacine rule!
Good Luck to the Tablet Raffle!
I'm one of those weirdos posting inflation art! Also whenever I cook, sometimes (...most of the time) it muutates into an animated monstrosity, causing all kinds of hijynx! Sometimes still edible! 😅
I've been a fan of anthro art as far back as I can remember, so joining just made sense. This site has had its ups and downs, but I've learned a lot from the community here and gotten a lot of inspiration for my art over the years. I took a long hiatus a while back for personal reasons, but could never leave for good.
First joined up in 2006 to let my fiancee and I be able to view artwork that interested us, but was behind a filter (long story to why only one of us had an account).
She passed away suddenly in 2007 on new years eve; I shattered. Still am picking up the pieces. Figured if I'm going to have a damned account, best contribute something so the data space doesn't go to waste.
Now damned near my mid 40's and still here. Felt okay to be around other creatives while still having the ability to remain locked away. Came into friendships with some wonderful people who somehow tolerate me prescence (I say this with love ). Hell, managed to even get put on a proper path to finding out I'm mildly autistic.
Still miss my beloved so much. But least now I've a place that somewhat accepts me. Just gotta fix the "being single" situation. Hah.
I joined cuz there's neat things here that I cant find anywhere else
Eventually i started to consider myself a furry and found FA in late 00's through other furry sites at that time.
Honestly I just always liked furry art, animation and i took the plunge and here I am now ^^!
I love how nice our community is and how we always do our best to support artists!
I joined FA around spring of 21' posting art I made and getting inspired by alot of people in the furry community. Then several years later, I made my own fursuit and have started to go out to more local furry events and drawing more art!
Not much to say about this felk.. im purple.. and big n soff.. and just enough of an aspiring artist to want a shiny tablet :3
I joined the furry fandom because of the Pokemon Gardevoir, which WAS my favorite Pokemon at the time but now my favorite Pokemon is Ninetales :3
Some more about me: I'm a cosplayer running the costuming group for my local community, with fursuiting included in that. I met my fiance at a Homestuck cosplay meetup. And I would do anything for garlic bread.
Which led me to DeviantArt.
Which led me to SheezyArt (Who remembers that?).
Which led me to sweet FA. And I've been here ever since.
Good to see things back up and running again!
I joined this community cause it was the the first big community that accepted me so willingly and kindly. Showed me that the world isn't too keen on wanting to make your life harder. Thus, I stayed ever since.

I joined the random so long ago I've nearly surpassed the boundaries of time and space. Back in the ancient times, FA was(/is) a neat place to find new people and randomly stumble upon Sonic fan art so effin weird it would make even DeviantArt blush.
Been here for a lot longer than my profile suggests, as this is my second account. (So glad I was able to do a name change to what my stuff represents!
Glad to see you guys are in the full swing of things, and making nice additions to the site! Thank you so much for the global blacklist!!
I'm here because a lot of my artist friends congregated here from many other non-furry artists spaces. This account was created 16 years ago, can you believe it? Despite all the craziness happening these days, I'm glad to see new folks sharing all the cool stuff they create every time I visit.
God, I joined FA in 2007. Started my furry exploration with Furnation a couple years before that. Just now realizing how long it's been lol. And what brought me into this medium, you ask? Simple...
Furries are hot.
The Furry community? Well I believe I was simply born into it hehe. The Furaffinity community, more specifically, came to my knowledge thanks to a friend who introduced me to the online community. But it wasn't until I found that I had a strong desire of sharing my personal view of the world and artwork that I realized how important this platform was to me. It has helped me find lots of people with different views of the world, art, interactions and much more. Also, the easiness of the market really helped me start my own art page here. There are so many options for both buying and selling art here and it feels very personal and very independent. I love that very much.
I think it was stumbling across art by Comet, Winger, Ayame and Bernal in 2007 and eventually found places like FA with a great community.
I joined the community when I first started getting into the furry fandom. FA had always been talked about as this mysterious place with sexual deviants where some of the fandom went. But then I got talking to people and I realized it's actually NOT (just) a place for rampant furry porn lol. Since then I've found so many amazing artists whose art journey I've watched over the years, and so many I've commissioned for art. I haven't done much commission work myself, but I'd like to someday, when I feel confident in my skills as an artist and entrepreneur.
Entering the giveaway. How to train your dragon turned me into a furry.
Ive joined fandom because of vore. Met new friends and got involved into drama. I want to win for my cousin since i introduced her daughters my graphics tablet and they love it, but they visit us rarely.
I'm glad i finally joined FA after years of lurking, i wanted to get involved with the community and share my furry art after finally embracing being a furry!!
I joined many years ago, admittedly because I heard it was easier to get commissions and I enjoyed drawing colorful animals. The community is so friendly and its nice being somewhere where art is appreciated as is without needing to be fanart of something.
Since then I've loved every minute of getting to know others and express myself, along with delivering the ideas and dreams of my clients. I've seen how FA continues to grow and genuinely cares about the website and it's community. Needless to say, I'm interested in seeing where things continue to go long after this as well!
0.=.0. And that started my continued interests in the community in general ^.=.^
All right, well, I happen to be a fan of birds- but wasn't always. I liked dinosaurs first, then birds- and only after that learned they were one in the same: heck of a childhood revelation for me! As for what made me join the community- all my favorite artists were here!
I love working in collabs, group work, and creating things with people, things that I know could never ever come from me alone, or any one person alone. I love how much each piece of art can show the combined DNA of both the artist and the other minds behind it <3
i don't really draw much furries if im perfectly honest, but a few of my furrier friends suggested me to hop on here and share my depravity anyway so that when I do post some cheeky lil bunnies, anthros, or scalie aliens, that I know im in the right place with the right people already to enjoy it <3
So, something about me.. i've been a furry all my life, ever since i watched Balto, Lion king and other cartoons on old cassettes. I discovered furry art about 15 years ago and locked in on "this, this is what i wanna do" and did it ever since
For me it's an annoyance eating up space on my screen and requires me to scroll down to the desired content ||=(>:c
Anyways I've been using a Huoin Kamvas 13 since I moved primarily to digital art and I couldn't be happier, so consider this an endorsement!
Guess I have no reason to not upload again LOL
Long ago I found FA after being on dA for so long and found I liked to community way more. People here have always been super nice, glad I stuck around. As for something about myself? I am collecting transformers figures, got a small bit and also have been working freelance since 2006 wild. Can't believe next year will be 20 years
I found FA while looking for a community that would accept my artwork. I didn't like DA and found here to originally be more welcoming in my younger days. Something about me would be.. I was a pretty hard core pokemon trainer some years back and I love to collect retro games and consoles.
Thank you for your hard work <3
do i win a cookie for my ultra original joak
I'll try my luck with artworks that already made then. Either with the banner that is now on the page. I think that would be more accurate
:j
So with that in mind, I did find after a good search, it was the 6th page of the backup on June 06, 2018 that you would find Rednef's RS.
I could not find it here using MANY parameters on the search and even on this flightless dragon's page, but it was with the effort to see it on the Wayback Machine.
HERE IT IS, REDNEF'S OFFICIAL RS ON THE WAYBACK MACHINE:
DO NOT REMOVE THE "web.archive" PART BEFORE THE ACTUAL FA SITE TO ACCESS THIS RS! IT IS NOT STORED ON FA.
Thanks from all my heart!!! ;;w;;

Thank you-u-u!!

Why I join? I like such animals and am actively learning to improve. I did get exposed in 2009 while on Neopets, but me in the FF'dom did start in 1998 with mascots and one lion fursuiter who is a Tampa Bay Lightning fan, and here I am, near 13 years of being on this site, and not going to leave!
A little about me, I'm a freelance 2D artist (also an Eldritch cap PNGtuber) who started out drawing a bunch of mostly human/humanoid characters, to getting commissioned to make stream assets/branding, before I knew it in my commissions, I ended up drawing more anthropomorphic or furry characters than I anticipated lmao.
Discovered FurAffinity 'cause I have some friends here, figured I could stick around a bit.
anyways as for the giveaway prompt thing; i ended up becoming a furry due to my sonic obsession from when i was a kid leading into me discovering furries lol. i joined this site mainly cuz its like the only furry-oriented artwork publishing site, and the community is pretty cool!
I picked up drawing again in 2019, starting to do requests to kickstart my inspiration. I made two accounts, a SFW account and a NSFW account. The NSFW requests proved to be much more fun to do, the people were a lot more chill to work with. This lead me back to FA and discovering the fandom. I never left!
That Kamvas would be awesome to make my art on!
A little about me is I am a self taught artist who has been married for 20 years. I am just really getting into digital art. I have been a furry for around 20 years at this point. I am always trying to do my best for everyone I know.
Good luck to whoever wins the Tablet!
Something about me is I am still working on improving my art and am participating in artfight this year, I've already started prepping
But i think why not to write a little bit about my self and how i am found out this site .
This happen somewere back at 2017ish , i alredy dont remember just was a big fan of werewolfs and all media with a transformation of them and such .
Read so much TF stories , that it just change me compleatly and from being of ya know school poser who hate furryes , becose everyone dos that become a big supporter of peopele finding out that its okay to show your fuzzy heart .
But then i am just hidenly read on funfiction sites again and again stories about what if Bella Swan from Twilight choise a werewolf guy instead of handsome vampire and such , from there i foud out about old but still working Transfur site , were i spend hours checking all types of transformation arts even from 1998 ( damn how long time ago it was ) and from there for more newer content i go to FA .
And stuck here mostly becose i love old desight that furffinity have and for small but active community and just all my friends here and also alot of TF artist are posting only here .
Altrough i need to say becose of old artist are not put any tags to they arts it almost imposible to find out old TF arts that just have a cute SFW transformation that was simple and not overhelmde by dicks and kinks xP
Everyone who realy reading this messege right now i wish that you was who gonna win a tablet today and even if not , then that you have a awesome day today irl and on Furaffinity too ^w^
I would also like to enter the giveaway, the opportunity is greatly appreciated! I joined the furry community a little over a decade ago, but I am still relatively new to Furaffinity by comparison. I have always much preferred non-human characters for some reason, particularly animals of course, and I stumbled into furry through my young captivation with Pokemon and wolves. I had already created my own fursona without realizing that was a thing, and the fandom felt right at home as I roleplayed and traded art with other young furries. As I grew up though, the social media I used, and the internet as a whole, changed. Whereas before it felt like I was involved in community - always having interactions with others and getting engagement (in the literal term) with my art, more aggressive algorithms were implemented and there was a sudden drop in the liveliness of the community I had enjoyed being a part of. Or at the very least, I was suddenly seemingly invisible. I tried to stick through it, but it was very unfulfilling and taxing playing mind games with an algorithm that had no return. Every other large social media had followed suit, and the internet has narrowed so much compared to what it used to be like before, which makes me incredibly sad. Furaffinity offered what I loved about older social media, and as a bonus it's entirely furry themed! It took me a bit to get used to, but I've enjoyed my time here since I've joined. For the most part I've stopped using the typical social medias and instead shifted my focus to here and making my own website on neocities. Overall though, furry is incredibly important to me as an outlet for self expression (I have learned so much about myself through my fursonas) and creativity, as well as a means to connect with others and make friends. There is so much overflowing creativity and ingenuity from the community that is absolutely inspirational and wonderful to see, and I hope to get more involved and be here for a long time to come. Cheers!
I joined the community because I really like all the creativity and cute fluffy animals :3
Hi! I'm Xaila. I joined FA because I do like drawing anthro (and fantasy) characters, but DA at the time had a very weird relationship with it unless it was werewolves or sparkledogs. So I came to FA, and been kicking it here ever since in bursts and lulls.
Even volunteered to staff when I saw they needed help too. And tah-dah~ I'm a big help! :D
And yes, I did draw the soyjack Rednef and Fender, I promise I will draw them in my actual style soon.
And with that, we're closed for new entries! Good luck to everyone above me who entered the giveaway. May the odds be ever in your favor. ♥
Next community journal will announce the winner! I know y'all are excite!
💗
While the community has changed a lot over the years for better and worse, this place has served not only as a site that keeps me alive but one that has introduced me to quite a few close contacts. I went from a lonely weirdo that likes animal people a little too much to a less lonely weirdo that gets to paint so many interesting characters for a living.
I’ll probably be on this site till it shuts down should it ever happen(or perhaps if I get a no notice permaban XD). But despite the problems I love FA and I love its people.
(Yes I did notice I was too late to enter the giveaway and Yes I do still mean every word above)
