I saw they have two regular actors as Jumba and Pleakley, which is odd. It's a multi-billion dollar studio choosing to cost cut like it's Canon Films or a Roger Corman production.

Sure, you could say, blending in with holograms is smarter logistically, but that kind of goes against the subtext of the original movie- People knew and didn't care that there were aliens running around.

Changing Cobra Bubbles into an alien Hunter is...a choice considering he was a CPS worker and MIB agent. Heavily implied to be a specific CPS caseworker for aliens. The joke is he was assigned to Nani and Lilo because they were mistaken for aliens in disguise. Cobra Bubbles knew the alien commander when she popped down at the end of the movie.

The original movie had this great subtext of everyone is weird. The only people who care about someone else being weird are a-holes, so don't care what they think, make your own family.
