Getting less impressionistic?
I do love a little bit of impressionism painting but I'm wanted to branch out into sharper more bombastic/stylized ways of paintings and I'm finding the way I paint is pretty mediocre for immediate visual interest—it serves its purpose, but I want more. Does anyone have any tips, compendiums, guides blogs whatever about other styles of digital art, smoother textures, more detailed works n the likes? Thanks!
I need more texture ! MORE. (without giving myself carpal tunnel bc my current method is pain)

repeating patterns have gotten a lot of milage for me, but that's pencil & marker stuff so yours may vary but who knows, worth a shot right?

If you go on gumroad and just browse digital brushes you can find some really unique ones to try out. I find that working with ones that feel really limited bring out the most unusual shapes and textures. I like working with chalk ones and just messing around. Also dont forget that not everything needs to be finished and posted online. Don't be afraid to "fail"! (I know that sounds obvious but its something I struggle with.) Or just make random marks until something looks cool. I also love to put on YouTube vids of other people's speed paints while im working. I learn a lot of neat tips that way.
